Travel to the Middle East but for much less at Barbar! Absolutely unbelievable food & flavours. Beautiful sharing plates, so many varieties & the most sensationally to die for dips. You can taste it's made from scratch. Everything is soooo fresh including their homemade pitas right out of the oven & served for & steamy like little pillows to the table. Service was divine & exemplary, staff was lovely, attentive & completely bilingual. The seating is nice because you're not sandwiched next to the other guests so you can enjoy the share plates comfortably. The ambiance & decor is so inviting, it's clean, fresh & pretty flowers too on tables. Honestly I felt I had gone abroad & eaten authentic Arab inspired food. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend! This is one you'll feast your eyes on but tastes as good as it looks too!
The dip trio of muhamara, humus, & roasted eggplant were absolutely fantastic. Some of the best I have ever had. With fresh pita made on site. Delectable. Service is unbelievable. Attentive & very friendly.
Le goût des plats est excellent, mais malheureusement, plusieurs éléments nous ont déçus.
D'abord, les bières en fût servies en format verre sont à 10 $. Honnêtement, c'est un prix difficile à justifier.
Ensuite, les portions sont généralement peu généreuses & surtout très déséquilibrées. Les serveurs présentent les plats comme étant faits pour être partagés, mais dans les faits, ce n'est pas vraiment le cas. Par exemple, le houmous nature est une très petite portion servie avec seulement trois petits pitas. On se sent presque mal d'en redemander &, lorsqu'on le fait, on n'en reçoit que deux supplémentaires.
Le problème est encore plus évident avec les plats de plus gros format vers la fin du menu. Par exemple, le plat de shawarma contient une énorme quantité de pommes de terre, de légumes marinés & d'accompagnements, mais seulement une petite, PETITE, quantité de viande. Ce déséquilibre très marqué en faveur des ingrédients les moins coûteux laisse vraiment à désirer, surtout considérant le prix des plats.
C'est dommage, parce que les saveurs sont réellement excellentes. À mon avis, il faudrait simplement revoir la générosité & surtout l'équilibre des portions, particulièrement pour les plats de plus grand format.
Boyfriend & I had such a lovely time here. We got a seat on the upper level which is a bit quieter & cozier, really nice spot.
The serving staff were attentive & warm throughout.
We ordered two cocktails, one being the Barbara Sour (I think that's the name) & honestly it was really good. Multiple layers of flavour, well balanced. Only thing I'd say is we could've used a touch more alcohol in both but that's a minor gripe.
Started with the falafels & they were amazing. Came with what I'm pretty sure was homemade pita bread & if it was, they need to make more of it. So fluffy, so soft, just really really good. Good size too!
We also had the octopus & the lamb. Both done really nicely, would highly recommend either. Portions were generous too which is always appreciated. Ordered a red to pair with everything & it just worked perfectly.
Finished with the crème brûlée which had a hint of orange peel running through it. Such a good touch, elevated the whole thing.
Genuinely had an amazing time. Easy 10 out of 10.
Amazing place! Vibes on point, service is top notch & the FOOD! Oh the food. We got the shawarma platter to share as well as the three dips & fattoush salad. Chicken was so tender, potatoes & garlic sauce were heavenly & the pitas were so soft & fresh! Would definitely be my number one recommendation for anyone who comes to Bromont! Will be back to try the octopus!
Une belle découverte! Beaucoup d'ambiance ce soir là. Le serveur tout sourire, nous a guidé pour le choix. Nous avons commandé 4 plats pour 2. La trempette aux poivrons rouges avec le pita frais & les choux de Bruxelles étaient goûteux & délicieux ( miam). Les dumpings & la pieuvre étaient bonnes aussi. Nous avons passés une belle soirée. Je recommande ce resto.
Nous nous sommes présentés sans connaître le restaurant & leur cuisine. Ce fut une agréable découverte, surprise par le menu & vraiment contente d'avoir découvert leur délicieux plat.

Exceptional restaurant! We were fortunate to get a spot as we were booking on short notice & there was a cancellation. It was clear from the moment we arrived that the staff was well trained & in a positive mood. Our waitress, Maddy, was very friendly & gave excellent suggestions regarding the menu. Every dish we had was better than the next. The Octopus & Cod dishes were particularly exceptional. The shish taouk was also very tender & tasty. They provided freshly baked pita bread & the hummus was very fresh & made at the restaurant. We will definitely be back & in fact the restaurant is one reason why we will come stay at Bromont again (we live about 50 minutes away).
Magnifique soirée d'anniversaire. L'accueil a été un peu chaotique mais je crois que c'était le changement de service quand nous sommes arrivée. Il y avait beaucoup de clients en même temps & certains ont passé devant nous. Par contre, service aux tables hors pair. On avait toujours de l'eau, changement de couverts, nettoyage de la table entre les services. Que dire de la nouriture. Pour moi, il s'agit d'une expérience unique où les saveurs sont fantastiques. Les pains pitas a eux seuls valent le détour. Nous avons déjà envie de revenir pour essayer d'autres plats de la carte! Pour deux personnes, trois à quatre plats sont plus que sufisant. Un gros merci à toute l'équipe pour la belle soirée
