Automne 2025 : Resto tranquille & accessible même si d'apparence chic.
My first meal in Montreal & it really set the standard which unfortunately means everything I've had after has been a disappointment.
Set inside the Sofitel hotel this place is best described as a culinary experience. The chef plays with flavors & textures using unique flavors without overpowering you into submission.
It's a subtle dance, teasing & flirting until you fall in love. We ordered the sea water jelly, foie gras, Canadian pike lobster bisque to start with the Chef D'otel, duck breast, pasta with porcini mushrooms & a kids Salmon.
Let's start with the miso bread! Holy smokes it was delicious. Kids salmon is well portioned & they have this decadent orange sauce. Great crust & moist. Sea water jelly with lobster was out of this world. Foie gras was buttery & their brioche was light & fluffy. The duck breast & pasta were good but the star was the Chef d'otel which came with a lobster bisque, a cod which were divine! Never had anything like it. Flavors were subtle & complex highlighting textures & colors.
Don't sleep on the dessert. Like the meal they were uniquely refreshing & fun. Our family including two young daughters gobbled everything up & we were stuffed!
I had a Manhattan cocktail to start & if it was any indication, the cherry was very not your run of the mill.
Best way to describe our experience was a curated collection of wonderful ingredients. Service was friendly, engaging & prompt. We felt catered too & celebrating my mom's birthday with a sparkler on her dessert.
I wish we had more photos but we were just too excited to capture everything. May need to go back isn't the excuse to get photos.
Great food & friendly service. Had one of the best desserts I've ever had. Highly recommended, & lunch pricing is very reasonable.
September 2025 update: Dined here many times & always a great experience. Food is always well prepared & service is top notch. The renovations completed earlier in 2025 definitely adds a luxurious ambiance to the experience.
The 80$ weekend brunch was fantastic, however the service was really bad. I get you dont need much staff since you get up to get your own food, however getting drinks or utensils was a horrible wait. When you got up to get more food, the busboy took utensils & plate, leaving you with nothing to eat when you came back, & then needing to wait for waitress every time.
I like the design of this restaurant , how the tables are designed & arranged. We had two dinners last week & both were excellent - good wine, the food was great, a nice French cuisine experience. If you look for a place to spend time around a great meal & have a good wine selection this is the place.
Exellent service & excellente cuisine
Bravo à toute l'équipe & au chef Perret!
Ate here twice while staying at the hotel. The food was high quality. I enjoyed both meals. But I do think it is a bit over-priced. You pay for the nice ambiance & very friendly service.
Merci!
Renoir at Sofitel Montreal Golden Mile serves a refined French-Canadian lunch crafted from premium local ingredients, set in an elegant space with attentive & discreet service.
As I step into the restaurant at the Sofitel Hotel'Renoir', I'm thinking wow, nice upscale restaurant, & when I think of upscale restaurants, I think amazing service, amazing atmosphere & most of all amazing food. Well….. yes some parts of Renoir were great like the server we had was nice, polite & took to our every need, but I don't know if she was fairly new because I found she did not know her menu very well. The atmosphere was nice, well cleaned & not so loud. We could talk to each other without yelling which was nice. Now brings me to the food. Now I love food, & no I'm not a professional food connoisseur, but I do work in a kitchen & feel I know what people are looking for, well I know what I am looking for. Let's start with the appetizers & the amuse bouch. A corn soupish with edible flowers & some crunchy things was tasty & worth having again. Very flavourful & not too big as to fill you for your appetizers & meal. Next the appetizer, Quebec's tomato gazpacho ricotta espuma with basil oil. This was by far the best thing I ate at Renoir. The flavour & aroma was on point. First time I ate gazpacho & now I'm hooked, so thank you for that. Then comes the main course. Let's just say after eating the gazpacho I was a little disappointed. The amount of food for the price. Yes it was duck & sure I expected to pay a bit more for duck but what I received was surprisingly small. So then you expect it to be amazing in flavour, well sorry to disappoint you it was just ok. & what's up with the leaf roll. I found does not match the story going on the plate. So let's move to dessert. If I understand correctly they have a baker in the kitchen & the cakes are made in house. I ordered the pistachio cake, very nice light & tasty. Has raspberry inside. Very good. All in All not a horrible experience. But I will mention it took very long to get the food from the kitchen to the table & it was not a busy Sunday by any means.
Brunch du dimanche ce jour. J'ai suivi les commentaires. Dommage.
I strongly recommend this restaurant. The food was unique, the service was amazing & I found a great vibe in the place.
I had a great experience here.
Amazing restaurant. Got the best service from Sami ! Will definitely be back to see him.
