Chicken biryani - Well seasoned chicken, nicely made rice
Tried two main dishes - both were definitely made from scratch with layers of flavor, but the saltiness of the dish covered up a lot of it.
Be warned that'The nobel' drink has a STRONG star anise / licorice taste but the description doesn't mention this. This was undrinkable for us.
Our server was nice enough but it was a struggle to get his attention.
Considering the other glowing reviews, this may have been an off night. We are also visiting from an area with a large indian population, so our standards may be relatively higher.View more

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Rendez-Vous Bistro, & I must say, it was an outstanding experience! If you're a fan of Indian cuisine, this place is a must-visit.
Food
The highlight of my meal was undoubtedly the Paneer Kolhapuri. It was simply out of this world-perfectly spiced & bursting with flavor. The paneer was incredibly fresh, & the sauce had the right amount of heat, making every bite a delight.
Beyond the Paneer Kolhapuri, the rest of the menu offered a variety of traditional Indian dishes that were equally impressive. Each dish was crafted with care, showcasing the rich flavors & aromas that Indian food is known for.
Atmosphere
The ambiance of the bistro is cozy & welcoming, making it a great spot for both casual dining & special occasions. The decor adds a nice touch, enhancing the overall dining experience.
Service
The service was attentive without being intrusive. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations that complemented our meal perfectly.

We had dinner & lunch here on 2 consecutive days. paneer is soft unlike rest of the restaursnts around montreal. Paneer was very delicious. But then the next day we had non veg thali. Thali had 25 dishes & they allowed us to share. Amazing thali & all dishes were well thought, planned & prepared. Chef really worked hard to prepare it. Pls see photo attached. They can improve upon wine sangria. Food is really nice. One of the best Indian food in montreal. They don't update online about there closing hours. So be carefulView more

We had an amazing experience at Rendez-Vous Indian Bistro! We ordered online through Uber Eats. Their butter chicken & paneer recipe without onion & garlic were absolutely delicious. The flavors were incredible, & the owner went the extra mile to accommodate our dietary preferences by preparing the paneer dish perfectly. As a delightful surprise, they even complimented the meal with rasmalai, which was the cherry on top! The food was so tasty, & the attention to detail made the experience even better. Best restaurant for Canadians too, who like to try Indian food, as they prepare all the dishes Indian style & also with canadian spice level. My personal favourite is Paneer Lababdar. I've tried many restaurants, but this Indian restaurant in Montreal stood out as a place where I found true satisfaction & happiness. The timing of the service was perfect, & the owner was incredibly welcoming, demonstrating a deep understanding of what it takes to provide the best service. We traveled all the way from Mississauga, ON-my mom & I are both chefs, & when we see great service, we know it. I highly recommend trying the Paan Kulfi for dessert, which is made in-house, & the Rogan Josh, which melts in your mouth. Paired with perfectly made naan, it took me back to my hometown in India.
