Mai Xiang Yuan est l'un des meilleurs restaurants de dumpling de Montréal. Si vous cherchez un endroit décontracté, pas cher et rapide pour manger un morceau, Mai Xiang Yuan est fait pour vous. Li Hui a ouvert l'emplacement de Chinatown en 2010, et un deuxième emplacement au centre-ville peu de temps après. Depuis, ils servent des dumpling chinoises torrides et savoureuses!

Super cute little restaurant. The food is really good. I recommend the dumplings & the wonton soup. A must go in Chinatown Mtl! Btw, it's cash only, but it isn't expensive so it worth it

It's cash only which is not made clear on Yelp. The waiter literally wanted me to go to the ATM machine right away. So; even with cash, the two taxes were charged. The water is rude.

While visiting Montreal for just a day, I knew I had to explore Chinatown & enjoy some authentic Chinese cuisine. I came across Mai Xiang Yuan Dumpling, a spot with solid ratings & promising reviews.
The moment you step in, it gives off that classic, old-style Chinese restaurant vibe - cozy, unpretentious, & full of character. The staff are warm & welcoming, making the dining experience even better. One thing to note: they only accept cash, so be sure to have some on hand before you go.
The food itself is excellent & truly authentic. Their dumplings are packed with flavor & made fresh, & the soup is just as satisfying - comforting, rich, & perfectly balanced.
If you're in Chinatown, Montreal, & want a genuine dumpling experience, Mai Xiang Yuan is well worth a visit. Just remember to bring cash & an appetite.

Excellent dumplings, they taste home made & good price. Highly recommend for dumpling fans. We had the soup beef dumplings, the mushroom & cabbage & the dim sum shrimp ones. Cash only tho.

J'y suis allé avec un ami hier soir après une conférence à montréal. J'avais vu que c'était une belle place pour les dumpling.
Quand nous sommes rentrés, l'endroit n'était pas super propre, beaucoup de pack de cannettes trainés par terre, les tables pas super propre mais bon.
Deuxième chose à savoir, ils n'acceptent pas de cartes débit ou crédit. Il faut payer cash & vous avez un distributeur interac bien sur :) dans l'établissement.
Nous nous sommes partagés plusieurs bouchées à la vapeur , crevettes, poulet, boeuf coriandre, etc...
C'était correct mais sans plus. Le monsieur de la place n'explique pas vraiment comment le menu fonctionne, etc...

everytime i hear the word dumpling i think of this place. they're amazing. porc & chinese cabbage is the best, my boyfriend loves the shrimp ones too. they're super juicy & the perfect level of oily (not too much, not too dry!) i can eat a whole container of them & never complain.
cash only & there is an atm. small location but you can order takeout (that's what we do). workers always seem a little disgruntled whenever i come pick up my order, but we all have bad days

Je pense que les avis très positifs datent d'il y a un moment... Le décor est très quelconque, le service plutôt expéditif (&'cash only'... gros point noir !). Sur le moment les plats étaient corrects sans être'wow', mais après le restaurant nos ventres nous ont fait savoir que ce n'était peut-être pas une bonne adresse (nous n'avons rien pris de particulièrement bizarre ou épicé). Bref... dommage !

They only take cash so I usually order on uber/doordash for pick up. Their dumplings are insane, I have a preference for their shrimp dumplings♡ The prices are also really good for what you get. I cant suggest it enough! ^^

Great food. But they run a currency exchange scam ("cash only" establishment). Stating that USD cash conversion in the establishment is 1.12 instead of what should be 1.44. Then got the math wrong on his own made up exchange rate & inflated the price further. Is that even legal?

Dumplings were quite tasty. Cash only place. It was annoying when they asked for tips directly staring into my eyes & smiling, really really annoying...

The dumplings were decent, but not particularly memorable. Presentation was pretty standard, nothing to write home about, & while the portion size was reasonable , it didn't quite make up for the overall lack of wow factor. If you're craving dumplings, they'll satisfy you, but don't expect anything out of the ordinary. Also, this is a Cash only establishment.

I didn't see it written anywhere on the storefront but this is a cash only place. There is an ATM just inside which may be used if necessary. The service was good. The tables are spaced enough to have a fair amount of room & not feel too cramped like some other restaurants in the area. I got the seared chicken & cilantro dumplings at the suggestion of the staff. The dumplings were good but I wish I got the steamed dumplings instead. The seared dumplings had good texture but I had trouble tasting the filling over the flavor from the sear. I'll try this place again for sure.

My wife & I enjoyed a nice lunch at Mai Xiang Yuan Dumpling. She ordered the boiled dumplings. I ordered the fried. We both got the wonton soup. The service, atmosphere & food were all great. Only challenge that they are cash only (has an ATM in the entrance). I'd definitely go here again!

Très bon dumpling, les steamer était meilleur, mais je ne suis pas capable de trouver un restaurant qui fait des dumpling comme à Hoi han au Vietnam,pour le service bien & souriant, mais oublier le français & le site est très propre, attention: CASH ONLY
