Ramen Misoya specializes in authentic Japanese miso-based ramen, highlighting the distinct regional variations of this traditional fermented soybean paste. The menu features a comprehensive selection of bowls utilizing three primary types of miso: Mame, Kome, and Shiro, each contributing unique depth and complexity to the rich, savory broth. Guests choose from a variety of hearty toppings including tender chashu pork, seasoned soft-boiled eggs, sweet corn, and crisp bamboo shoots to customize their meal. The interior design emphasizes clean, minimalist aesthetics that reflect the focus on ingredient quality and traditional Japanese culinary techniques. Each bowl is meticulously prepared to ensure the balance of texture and flavor remains consistent with the standards of this internationally recognized franchise. This establishment remains a destination for those seeking a genuine, specialized ramen experience centered on the versatility of miso.
Ramen Misoya is widely regarded as a hidden gem in Montreal, praised for its cozy atmosphere and flavorful, comforting ramen bowls that offer great value. Many diners frequently highlight the generous portions and the high quality of the broth and toppings, particularly the gold miso and cha shu, as reasons for their repeat visits. While the majority of guests have positive experiences with the friendly, hardworking staff, there are recurring mentions of inconsistent service speeds, occasional long wait times during peak hours, and some concerns regarding the cleanliness of the space. Although a few visitors have encountered issues with specific dish quality or communication regarding orders, the restaurant generally maintains a strong reputation as a welcoming spot for authentic Japanese comfort food that leaves many customers eager to return.
Flavorful ramen with tasty, hearty broth & generous toppings. Service is quick & friendly. Cozy atmosphere, though it can get crowded during peak hours. Great spot for ramen lovers.
I ordered two ramen combos from this restaurant through Uber Eats, but only received one when the delivery arrived. I called the restaurant immediately, & the staff told me to place another order for one ramen combo & said they would contact their boss to send me an e-transfer refund. I followed their instructions, but I never received the money.
The next day, I called again to follow up. A different staff member answered, told me she would speak with the boss, & never got back to me. On the third day, I called once more & was hung up on right after I explained the situation. After that, I haven't been able to reach the restaurant at all-my calls won't go through anymore, & it feels like my number has been blocked.
This is unacceptable customer service & a very disappointing experience. I would not recommend ordering from this place.
Update: After posting this review, the restaurant reached out to me with an apology & an explanation. It turns out the refund via e-transfer was sent to the wrong email address due to a typo on their end. They acknowledged the mistake, took responsibility, & also addressed the poor communication & unprofessional phone response I experienced. They offered a 50% off coupon as a gesture of goodwill, which I appreciate.
While I still believe the situation could have been handled better from the start - especially with clearer communication & follow-up - I do appreciate their effort to make things right after the fact. I've decided to keep the original review up for transparency, but I also want to acknowledge that the restaurant did take ownership & apologized sincerely.

I've walked past this unassuming little ramen shop for years. When an old friend said they made the best ramen in town I was eager to try. I'm so glad I did!!I had the deluxe gold, & it was one of the best ramen I've ever had.
Regardless of bring about 40 minutes before closing, the wait wasn't bad, & ramen was spectacular. Genuinely the best bowl I've had in a while. Another review said they'd be dreaming about that bowl & I agree. Affordable & filling, we're coming back for sure,& bringing friends
Our 2 ramen are both delicious, noodle soup is very good also. but some comments are correct online: the restaurant is old, dark & not too clean. The 4 pieces of seaweed was not fresh enough, not crispy, & was already limp. That's it.
good ramen for good price. Third time coming here. Definitely recommend getting the ramen with a couple toppings like egg, pork or whatever to make it more interesting (base flavour gets boring after a while) silver shiro spicy
