Ramen Misoya Downtown, Montreal: Menu, Reviews & Reserve (2026)

Where ramen and miso meets
Ever since Japan’s Edo period (1600 to 1867 AC), Miso has been known as a healthy and tasty
condiment and has been beloved for generations.

Miso is made with soybeans, rice (or barley in some cases) and salt by being fermented for a certain
period of time. It originated in China, spread to Japan in the 9th century and became known as Miso paste. In the long history of Japan, Miso has been a sufficient protein source, to enhance rice, soup or as a sauce over vegetable side dishes.

As a fermented food, miso is a great source of probiotics or beneficial bacteria, which increases the
health of your gut and enhances your immune system. Miso is also high in protein, in minerals like
manganese and zinc, and vitamin E, vitamin K, various B vitamins, and folic acid.

Review Summary

Ramen Misoya is described as a cozy basement spot offering flavorful ramen with rich broths, generous toppings, and solid value in Montreal, with quick, friendly service noted by many and a reputation for comforting bowls that satisfy a craving for reliable ramen; at the same time some reviews point to inconsistent experiences, long wait times during peak hours, occasional overly salty broth or toppings, and moments of slow or inattentive service or cleanliness issues, suggesting that the ramen quality is a highlight while overall experiences can vary.

The restaurant is located in the basement. The place was clean & replicates the ramen shop feel of Japan. The food was good. The service was a little slow. They only had one cook. Parking is in the street.

Petites porte cacher en contre bas .
Les ramen sont excellents.
Le bouillon est bien parfumé ?
J'ai pris un ramen épicé ?
Il était bien relevé comme j'adore ?

They really stuff their bowls but the broth was ok. It's a nice intimate setting.

My friend & I were suppose to go to the Malatang right above this place but it was closed. Was a little disappointed. I don't know about my friend but my bowl was lukewarm & the chicken was okay but too pricy for the small potion (I ordered the larger size). Overall it was Soso.

Besides it's kind of famous around the world the lack of service, also if you have a disability this place it's not for you & let's not forget the ridiculous amount of wating for the food make this place a bit disappointing experience

Tasty broth & good texture of the noodles, but the cha-siu slice is thin & small, the egg was not perfect, & the price for these extra aren't worth it. Maybe best for vegetarian dishes. Took a while to receive the bowl as well, perhaps understaff.

I came during Ramen Ramen Fes. I'm glad that their Végétarien ramen are made with vegan products. Because some noodles may contain eggs. The Végétarien Tantan Miso Deluxe comes with 4 nori leaves & vegetable kakiage tempura. Mine had 3 extra slices of fried tofu. The broth is rich & creamy. Slightly spicy, very flavourful. I love that the ramen is hot but not to the point to burn your mouth. :D
