Ramen Isshin serves authentic Japanese noodle dishes characterized by complex, deep-flavored broths and meticulously prepared ingredients. The menu centers on traditional techniques, offering signature bowls like the red miso ramen that balance savory richness with precise spice levels. Thick, chewy noodles are crafted to provide the ideal texture for absorbing the concentrated essence of slow-simmered pork or vegetable bases. Patrons observe an open kitchen environment where focus remains on the rapid, consistent execution of classic recipes. Every bowl incorporates fresh toppings including seasoned bamboo shoots, wood ear mushrooms, and soft-boiled eggs marinated to perfection. This establishment prioritizes the integrity of traditional ramen preparation while maintaining a focused selection of appetizers and sides that complement the main noodle offerings. Consistency and technical proficiency define the culinary approach found at this noodle house.
Ramen Isshin offers a highly regarded dining experience frequently praised for its authentic, rich, and flavorful broths, particularly the spicy miso and roasted garlic shoyu varieties. Guests consistently highlight the generous portion sizes, perfectly textured noodles, and the quality of sides like gyoza and takoyaki. While the atmosphere is generally described as cozy, welcoming, and reminiscent of Japan, service experiences can vary, ranging from exceptionally attentive and kind to occasionally slow or disorganized during busy periods. Despite minor feedback regarding salt levels or serving temperatures, the majority of visitors consider it a top destination for comfort food in the city, frequently noting the value and overall consistency of the meals provided.
Great ramen place in Plateau Mont-Royal. The system of ordering on your phone is perfect for individual dining, but with multiple friends it can be a hassle. I took the Kotteri Shoyu Ramen. The broth was good, but a little bit salty (I know it's suppose to be the rich broth). The noodles weren't good at all. The chashu had a good taste & toppings were well chosen. I also had the karrage chicken, that I would recommend to share with friends.
The ramen was just fine, the chashuu had a bit too much fat. There was nearly no meat at all. The noodles were good though. & really nice ambiance in the restaurant.

Simply amazing. I had the Red Dragon Miso. Wow! Perfect Balance of Spice & flavour. Great service. One of the best Ramen I've had if not the best. - Excellent. Super Savoureux & bien épicé (Red Dragon Miso). Service cordial. Je vais y retourner assurément.
Excelent Ramen.
My partner & I, had an amazing experience recently for our date, ambience was nice, cosy, perfect for dates , staff was friendly, service was quick & value for money ♥️
