It was better when they just opened Ordered Amritsari Kulcha & butter chicken & lemonade but amritsari kulcha lacked flavour there was not enough stuffing in it to make it kulcha. The chhole with kulcha just tasted like bay leaf flavour only & watery, chutney given with kulcha also lacked flavour & watery. In butter chicken there were only 4 pieces of chicken with a bowl full of sauce. Lemonade was just carbonated water with drops of lemon juice & crushed black pepper. Not worth for the price you pay. There are better restaurants in Montreal they might have less choices for you but food is very good.
Just had some of the best punjabi food in Canada. The kulcha is out of this world. Kadhai chicken & Naans were cooked to perfection. Highly recommended for those seeking terrific punjabi food in Montreal. The seating is spacious & quite comfortable. Service is friendly too!

Loved loved the food !! We ordered Gobhi Paratha & it was amazing!! So was the Kulcha plate..Samosa chaat & aloo Tikki chaat were very good too..chili chicken was okayish..staff was very warm & helpful..ambience was good, reminiscent of Indian restaurant..will visit this place for sure..strongly recommend for Kulchas & Parathas
We had the veg thali & chicken malai tikka which was so tender & juicy. The naan & roti were fresh & had the perfect texture. The waitress Sia (not sure how to spell it my apologies) who served us was very kind & even made a heart in our curry! The only thing I'd suggest would be to decrease the music volume, because it was quite too loud
Cuisine délicieuse, le nan au fromage était excellent, le chicken bariani ou le poulet tandoori sont à recommander. Néanmoins, musique un peu forte & service peu attentionné, accaparé par des problèmes de téléphone...
I have a couple of things that I would like to bring forward but for the time being my 5 star rating is solely for the food & the upgrade that punjab canteen has achieved by opening this location. I am an old customer, rue liege location reminded me of punjabi dhabas. Good food, good prices & to the point service haha. I was super excited for this new location & finally was able to come from Ottawa to experience it. First of all, awesome upgrade! What a nice looking restaurant, great vibe, great lighting, good music & clean! Maza aa gya! Now we come to the food. My fear was that now with the upgrade the food must have gone down as it might get whitewashed to appeal to a larger audience. But when we ordered, not only the presentation had elevated but the taste as well! The achari chicken tikka was so soft, juicy & flavorful.. a must have! You guys are not stingy with your garlic on your garlic naan 😄 it was amazing! Everything we ordered was great! The quantity has sure gone down but the quality has definitely progressed. I don't think the quantity justifies the prices but it is understandable. I can compromise with that if the quality is this good :). Oh & I had the strawberry mojito.. yum yum yummmmmm!!! Now we come to the service. The service at rue liege was acceptable considering the vibe of the restaurant but now that you have this beautiful location with such presentable delicious food, I think it is time to train the servers to match that level of service that you guys are going for. I was greeted with a smile at the front, seated nicely by the male staff. The female staff just didn't seen to be enjoying what they were doing. The lack of enthusiasm was killing the vibe for me which the food made up for. No harm in smiling a little & being polite. I understand that it is a tiring job & we desis are sometimes not the best customers to deal with. I have worked in the service industry myself back in the days & I totally understand the type of crowd we can get sometime. But it is not fair to treat everybody the same way when you are representing a really good restaurant which is progressing so beautifully. A warm smile & a caring attitude can melt the toughest of crowds. This is the only constructive criticism I would give you guys. I love Punjab canteen & I am very happy for all that you have achieved! I wish the best to you guys for your future! My mother is coming from India so I will see you guys soon :D she is going to drool over that Dal Makhani!!!! Haha
I love to go there but my last visit on my friend birthday was not good . I ordered chicken kadai but got wrong order then mix veg was also did not meet the taste as expected.

My wife & I decided that we needed to add some more spice in our lives, so what better way to achieve this but to visit La Cantine Punjab on Queen Mary Road. We started off with a tummy warming thick Lentil Soup. I ordered the Chicken Malai Tikka which was in my humble opinion, absolutely the most mouthwatering & tender pieces of chicken that I have ever tasted in an Indian restaurant. My wife chose the Chicken Tikka, also a very delicious dish. The portions were extremely generous & the service was friendly & efficient throughout our meal. So if you would also like to spice up your life, I suggest that you stop by La Cantine Punjab. You won't be disappointed.
First time trying Punjab food & wow it's amazing! The amritsari kulcha is so delicious, & one of the best butter chicken in town. Thank you for the great food & service!
