About

Première Moisson specializes in artisanal French-style baking, utilizing traditional sourdough fermentation techniques to produce a wide range of rustic breads and crusty baguettes. The display cases feature an extensive collection of viennoiseries, including flaky butter croissants and pain au chocolat prepared with high-quality imported fats. Beyond yeast-leavened goods, the kitchen produces refined fruit tarts, decadent chocolate mousses, and delicate éclairs crafted with attention to seasonal ingredients. Savory options include quiches and sandwiches assembled on house-made ciabatta or grain breads, focusing on fresh produce and cured meats. The environment emphasizes the visual presentation of flour-dusted shelves and cooling racks, highlighting the meticulous nature of small-batch pastry production. This establishment remains a destination for those seeking authentic Quebecois baking traditions combined with sophisticated patisserie standards and consistent quality across every batch of baked goods.

Review Summary

Première Moisson is widely appreciated for its high-quality bread, fresh pastries, and pleasant atmosphere, making it a favorite spot for many customers. While the food consistently receives praise for its taste and variety, experiences with customer service are highly polarized, ranging from warm and welcoming to rushed or unprofessional. Some patrons express frustration regarding inconsistent service standards, occasional issues with product packaging, and varying quality across different locations. Despite concerns over pricing and service speed, the overall consensus remains that the quality of the baked goods makes it a destination worth visiting regularly.

The best to get my levain bread, fresh all the time, clean , friendly french speaking staff, & lots of space to have a snack or just to have a coffee with their deliciously fresh pastries & bread .

Although I go frequently to this place in my neighbourhood, I have realized how the salty food such as sandwich, meal of the day, soups, & so on, have lower quality now. I am not sure what is happening, who is cooking, but the cost of products are very expensive, & when you do not get a fresh or good quality product, you realize that it is not worth it.

I love love love this place. It's big spacious with plenty of seating. The pastries are fresh & super tasty. I LOVE THERE ALMOND CROISSANTS. There sanwiches, salads & variety of bread are all A1. The staff are wonderful, service with a smile. I go there often with my daughters & grandchildren. There's something for everyone.
