Review Summary

Première Moisson is widely recognized for its high quality assortment of fresh breads, decadent pastries, and flavorful sandwiches, making it a popular destination for visitors at the Atwater Market. While many customers praise the artisanal craftsmanship and delicious taste of items like croissants and cakes, opinions on service and atmosphere are mixed. The location is frequently busy, which can lead to long lineups and crowded seating, though many patrons appreciate the organized systems in place and the professionalism of the staff. Although some reviews highlight inconsistent service, noise levels, and occasional lapses in attention, the overall consensus points to a reliable and enjoyable spot for those seeking authentic baked goods and a classic café experience.

Great assortment of pastries. Coffee was excellent. The pistachio latte had full pistachios in it!

The place is usually busy, but I actually like the atmosphere. I often come here to grab a coffee before going for a walk by the canal. They have a great variety of pastries, especially French pastries, along with many coffee & drink options. The service is organized since they use a number system, which helps a lot when it's crowded. I've always had good pastries from here. The latte is good too, although it's usually a bit cold & asked to reheat. They also offer flavored syrups for the coffee, which is good because i like flavoured latte.
The seating area can feel a bit crowded, so I would recommend getting your order to go if possible.

Visited this bakery on Sunday & it was quite busy, but it's easy to see why! All the breads & pastries looked incredibly fresh. We bought the pastry shown in the photo, & it was absolutely delicious. On top of the chocolate coating on the outside, it was filled with rich chocolate in the middle, which made it amazingly tasty. Highly recommend checking them out!

Fresh! Amazing food for pastries & bread. Prices are not cheap... but they have promos at times that make it great value but other then that it's a bit pricy . But... the quality & the food is great ! 5/5 overall still

Awesome collection of pastries, rolls, & breads. Some snacks also. Good coffee. There's usually a lineup but staff work hard to look after you. Some seating but not much. Great place to go after shopping or after a visit to the canal. Some GF selection.

Boulangerie Première Moisson at Marché Atwater is a gourmet stop that blends artisanal craftsmanship with the vibrant atmosphere of one of Montreal's most beloved markets. From the moment you approach the counter, the sight & aroma of fresh-baked breads, buttery pastries, & decadent desserts is irresistible. The display itself is a visual treat - golden baguettes stacked neatly, rustic loaves dusted with flour, delicate croissants with perfectly flaky layers, & colorful tarts & cakes that look as good as they taste.

The quality here is consistently outstanding. Breads have a beautiful crust & tender crumb, pastries are rich & flavorful without being overly sweet, & savory options - from sandwiches to quiches - are prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Whether you're grabbing a quick snack or assembling a picnic with market finds, it's easy to put together something memorable.

Service is friendly & efficient, even during busy hours, & the staff knows the products well, often offering thoughtful suggestions. While prices reflect the artisanal quality, the freshness & flavor make it well worth it.

Première Moisson at Marché Atwater isn't just a bakery - it's an essential stop for anyone who appreciates fine baked goods. For photographers, the colors, textures, & natural light of the market create the perfect backdrop to capture the artistry in every loaf & pastry.

I thought I was having a bad day today. I had been to two highly rated places for breakfast & lunch & was let down in both. Finally, we came to Atwater Market & saw the pastries in here. We ordered eclairs & coffee. Finally, the server was so polite & caring. The quality of food was good & service was excellent. My day is finally back on track.
