About

Première Moisson specializes in authentic artisanal baking rooted in traditional French-Quebecois craftsmanship. The menu features a comprehensive selection of sourdough breads, flaky butter croissants, and seasonal fruit tarts prepared with high-quality ingredients. Patrons select from an array of handcrafted macarons, decadent chocolate éclairs, and layered cakes designed for refined palates. The production process emphasizes long fermentation techniques and the use of unbleached flour to ensure superior texture and flavor profiles. Beyond baked goods, the selection includes savory quiches and fresh sandwiches prepared daily on crusty house-made baguettes. This establishment maintains a rigorous commitment to culinary standards, ensuring that every pastry and loaf reflects time-honored methods. The integrated retail environment provides direct access to these expertly prepared products, which remain staples for those seeking genuine, high-quality bakery and confectionery items.

Review Summary

Première Moisson is widely recognized for its fresh, high-quality bread, pastries, and diverse lunch options, making it a popular destination for many patrons. While many customers praise the delicious offerings, including their signature croissants and seasonal cakes, experiences with the service and the mandatory ticket system remain polarized. Some appreciate the organized approach to managing crowds, while others find it inefficient and frustrating, particularly during busy hours. Although the atmosphere is generally considered inviting, concerns regarding inconsistent service quality, staffing turnover, and price adjustments have surfaced, leading to a mix of loyal support and occasional disappointment.

I've been here once & I ordered the items in the photo. Nothing special. But the variety was fine. The reason why I am giving 3 stars is that the guy who was getting our order was only speaking French, we answered in English & he never tried to talk in English with us. It was disrespectful. To me, respect is all. I remember Montreal was like Bonjour ,Hi But these days I don't hear it anymore. What if I was a tourist?
