We went for the All-U-Can-Eat brunch on Sun Dec 21, 2025. I wanted to take my family, the social media video & pics look amazing. But in reality was nothing like the Social Media.
The fruit was good, but was basic, the crepe & waffle section was good. Then they had Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, potatoes. Then there was hot food section. Chicken, pasta etc. Then a meat section. Roast Beef, very fatty.
The salad section was a poor attempt. Lettuce was wilted, the other optioned were never filled, & very poor looking.
The main reason why we wanted to go was the Raw Oysters. & extremely disappointed. They were the smallest Oysters I've ever seen. Came about 12 at a time, They were not shucked properly. Shells were left in the Oysters, & some of them smelled fishy. (Not a good sign)
The Waitress was AMAZING. That was the best part.
We really wanted to enjoy it, but I will never get a second chance. I will never go back.
For $55 plus TAX/person (not worth it at all)
My wife & I used to dine at the Portovino on Rue des Jockeys very often & we were extremely disappointed when it closed down. So much to our delight we were ecstatic to find out that Portovino had now reopened on Decarie Boulevard.
We decided to go there for dinner, & I have to say we were not let down. We both ordered a generous portion of Caesar Salad to start with & then for our main course we tried the Sea Bass, which was cooked to perfection & melted in our mouths. Service was excellent & I am quite sure that we will be visiting Portovino again in the near future.
UPDATE: My wife & I decided to go for dinner at Portovino to celebrate our wedding anniversary & I'm really happy that we did.
We ordered the Minestrone Soup, a green salad, their Famous Ossobuco, the Grilled Porgy Fish & a Crème Brûlée for dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious & the service was superb as well.
Thank you Portovino for making our special day extra special.
Always enjoyed the Portovino location near me & went with some friends for the first time to this Decarie spot. We were 5 ppl, last Sunday evening & our wait staff was Rosie. We had great service & all enjoyed our food. Various pasta dishes for my friends. I always go for the arugula salad & New York steak. Thanks Portovino Decarie 🙌🙂
I recently dined at Portovino Decarie with a friend. The food was delicious & nicely presented. We both had pasta, soup & salad. The puttanesca that I ordered was the best I've ever had, & the minestrone soup was yummy.
The service was impeccable, & the byob aspect made it a perfect dinner. Highly recommend restaurant for creative food & value!
Went alone for supper. Had a Ceasar salad, terrible. Dressing & croutons from some blah wholesale market. I suggest the owners try Table 51 Ceasar salad to understand how the salad should taste & include...real bacon, homemade Dressing, homemade croutons & shavings of real parmesan cheese!! Delicious!!
In the beginning after I was seated the service seemed good, as it was 6:30pm on a Thursday night. Only 3 to 4 tables including me. The ONLY waitress opened my wine... BYOW & poured me a glass. I asked her for a glass of still water...it never came. I asked the only busboy for it, which came promptly. He removed the salad that I hardly ate.
About another 10 minutes later my pasta arrived. The bussboy once again provided excellent service with pepper & parmesan cheese.
During my whole meal for a good 20 to 20 minutes plus I am sitting next to a table with what I hear & see are people chatting / complaining about thier day, life, etc...& it is so close to the kitchen that all you hear are pots & dishes banging getting washed...I assume.
I finished my meal & waited...tick tock...no service. The busboy finally comes & gave me my take out of leftovers....still no waitress & no other person providing any service or help to the waitress. She was the only waitress, with a busboy & no other person provided any help.
I waited, & waited for my bill or even a request for a coffee. I finally just stood up & put my coat on & told the waitress I am leaving.
She gave me my bill, & I did give her a decent tip...$10 cash
I asked her to confirm that the table next to me were people that'WORKED' there, & she replied'YES'.
SHAME ON ALL OF YOU WHO SIT ON YOUR DERRIERES & DO NOTHING TO SUPPORT YOUR COLLEAGUES!!
If you complain why business is not good for you, look at yourselves!!
The food was delicious. Rosie, our waitress, was very helpful & friendly. It was very loud due to two large parties on the opposite sides of the restaurant. The reason for 3 stars was that the table dhote comes with a salad & coffee or tea. We requested a decaf coffee, which we were told was not included. Was told it is a management decision. I'm not impressed how the evening finished. It's such a silly thing to lose customers. What is the difference in cost between regular & decaf coffee?
We went for lunch August 26th. The spaghetti with tomato sauce was delicious. The Minestrone soup was outstanding. My cousin had the mixed salad & fries which was great. Creme Brule & rice pudding was great. Service was excellent. Portions were plentiful & I took home the left-overs. The restaurant is gorgeous, staff & food excellent. We used to eat across the street, until they closed. We are very happy you are back on the other side of Decarie.
We went for lunch & tried their three-course special, which was the price of a single main dish. Everything was excellent, from the Caesar salad to the pasta & the crème brûlée for dessert. The experience felt truly luxurious, making it a wonderful way to treat yourself.
Hostess, owner, & servers were smiling, friendly & helpful. The food portions were filling & delicious. There were four of us. One had excellent mussels & fries. One of us had veal scallopini with gargonzola. One of us had veal scallopini with mushrooms. One of us had veal parmigiana. All delicious. Veals come with pasta but its easy to substitute. There is a full course option with soup or salad & tea or coffee. Menu has many choices, pastas, fish, mussels, veal etc. Although the dessert tray looked great we were all too full. Byob is a nice touch. Décor is nice. Tables nicely spaced. Free parking too. Highly recommended.
