This korean BBQ comes with a lot of unlimited side dishes & it's fun to mix & match the grilled meat with them. Their soups are also great & go well with the meat.
The staff were friendly & it was fast to ask for refills.
The ambiance is very nice, but the ventilation system seems nonexistent. It's very smokey inside & you end up smelling like BBQ.
Amazing food... The staff was great & attentive. The place had a fun decor! Such a great place to get together as a group or even for a date night. Fun & energetic ambiance. Give it a try! Don't worry if you're unsure how to eat at a Korean BBQ they'll explain it well.
Super cool Korean BBQ restaurant with a design that looks like a Korean Market! Amazing food & service was incredible. Shoutout to the manager JP!
Def a good spot for Korean bbq. The staff was very friendly & attentive. I was a little disappointed at the Diet Coke I ordered. It was in a cocktail class with plenary of ice, therefore; I only got 5-6 sips. Usually, I get a pint or the equivalent to a can when I order a soda, anywhere. Also, the floors are very slippery which means they are very dirty. That was really icky to know all that grease just sits in the floor & you have to ice skate to your table. The side dish & beef were delicious. I hope they clean their floors & be a little more generous with their soda for my next visit.
This place was so great!! It was my first time at Korean bbq & not only was it delicious & the atmosphere is so nice, the place is so cute it looks like a little alleyway with cute storefront signs!! Also JP was our waiter & the service was amazing!
We started with 📌Rabboki-ramyun noodles, spicy k-sauce, rice cake, fish cake, & a hard boiled egg. Unfortunately, it tasted rather plain & wasn't as spicy as we'd hoped. On the brighter side, the 📌Jokbal (soy-braised pig's trotters) was fantastic!! Perfectly cooked & richly spiced, it's a must-try here❤️ The real star of the night, though, was the 📌Hetteok & Ice Cream. This sweet Korean pancake with cranberry compote & mixed nuts was absolutely delicious. Sweet, nutty, & warm! It was the perfect dessert & my favorite dish at Pony!✨ For drinks, we had the 📌Milkis Fizz & 📌Gochu Spicy Margarita, but both tasted like watered down alcohol, which was a letdown. Overall, Pony has some real gems on the menu (don't miss the Jokbal & Hetteok!), but the flavor & quality of the other dishes & drinks could use some refinement.
An absolute banger. Being a fan of korean BBQ, it's really a perfectly managed restaurant : EXTREMELY generous for the price, the service was top notch & perfectly coordinated. The music fit the place like a glove & was not too loud! So do yourself a service, & go. No reasons NOT to go! Gongratz to this gem!
We loved this place. We were visiting Montreal & this place showed up on quite a few best-of lists. We didn't have a reservation & it was a Sat nite, & they found us a table & just asked us to please limit our dinner to 2. It was just the 2 of us, so no problem. JP was our waiter & he was great. So helpful with drink & food recommendations. We are veteran Korean BBQ eaters & the meats were excellent. Tons of unlimited banchan as well. Got a side of perfectly crispy garlic chicken wings as well. Lots of fun alcohol & non alcoholic drinks as well as a large selection of BBQ meats & veggies & tons of other Korean dishes like jaepche, Bibimbap & kimchee stew. Don't miss this place!
Best Korean BBQ in mtl. The side dishes are perfectly marinated, & the food just delicious with big portions. Felt at home here, the staff were so friendly it made me feel like I got to know them. Overall, great service, amazing food, amazing people- truly a night made memorable thanks to this place.
We had a lovely authentic korean experience. J-P was a great host & guide around the menu, meat quality was top notch & I could'nt stop re-ordering the side plates. Any fan of korean food or good bbq meats should definitely try it out!
Standard Korean BBQ fare. Staff are kind & charming. Atmosphere is a bit bar-like, but not too cramped. Not particularly memorable, & there are other places like this within a few blocks. But it satisfies. Not sure why it's called Pony, was hoping there'd be horse meat on the menu, but no, there wasn't. BTW, Quebec is one of the only places in North America where you can readily but horse meat at grocery stores. Apparently Quebec has many horse abattoirs.
Had a really amazing dinner here- our server was cordial, fast & attentive. The food was awesome. The Korean style Bbq was interactive & super fun. The decor made for a fun environment. I highly recommend.
Première expérience Korean BBQ. Nous avons tous adoré! Service & conseils parfaits. Nourriture succulente & ambiance agréable. Prix raisonnable malgré le contexte actuel ! Je le conseil à tous !
This was my first time at a Korean bbq & let me tell you it did not disappoint. The service was insanely fast & they checked on us always at the right time. The food felt fresh & good quality. We also tried their in-house lager & were pleasantly surprised. Overall a good experience, will definitely be back.
Food was average. Service was lack luster. Server had to verify 2 times what we ordered (claimed he was new). Atmosphere was alright. probably the better part of the resto. Food was WAY overpriced. 80$ for a 2 person platter with very limited meat (6 slices a person). Even drinks there are overpriced. Final price with one platter, 3 drinks & one Kimchi bowl came to 145$. All in all, visit another Korean BBQ place.
Although I have limited experience with Korean food, this is a very successful place. The meats & side dishes were delicious. The waiters were attentive & friendly. Recommended.
WOW! I thought I knew what Korean BBQ was but I was properly educated yesterday at Pony on Ste-Catherine in Montreal. I assumed it would be like the other "Korean" all-you-can-eat places in that area, so when I saw the prices & realized we ordered everything a la carte, I was very concerned. We opted for the mix plate for 2 ($85) which I feared would not be substantial enough... boy, was I wrong! It comes with soup for 2 (their kimchee soup was a revelation!), a beautiful, fluffy, cheesy omelet, premium cuts of meats, & a few veg + an exquisite gamut of banchan that they replenish as needed. All of it was delicious! There was so much food that, despite our best efforts, we couldn't finish it all. Thanks to the charm of the place (loved the Korean playlist going in the background & the pop art on the walls), & impeccable service (thanks Van & Kevin!), this is one of the best new places on the Ste-Catherine strip!
Went to Pony for a birthday celebration. Truly worth the visit! Would recommend without hesitation for an outing with friends. The aesthetic of the restaurant sets a festive mood & gives you the impression of being on vacation abroad. The waiter gave us great advice on the best way to make the most out of our experience with the food & drinks. He even went out of his way to show us how to cook & eat the selection of meats we had & what drinks to pair it with. Even gave us a run down on Korean dining & drinking culture. The selection of meat & sides were delicious & if you have the appetite for it, I recommend trying the dessert as well.
Caissy #1 korean bbq waitress in Montreal, JP best barman, overall best bbq spot
