Our waiter was so sweet & polite, & he made the best gochu-marg (his very first)! I have to add that all the servers work as a team, so the service is seemless. We had the small mixed plate, (pork & beef), the meat was good quality & sufficient for the 3 of us. The cheezy corn I would eat for breakfast. The tteokbokki was so good with the rice cakes nice & chewy & creamy, & surprisingly not too spicy for the no spice person of our group. I will dream of it for weeks! The bibim-mandu (porc dumplings)are on a bibim-hello level! They also keep the tradish banchan (sides) coming during your meal, which include the usual kimchi, marinated daikon, cucumber salad, glass noodles, etc , all fresh. We found it was quite the bang for our buck. 10 out of 10 recommend! Oh & share the dessert if you have room!
Jokbal is cheaper than other Korean places. The weekday special offers are interesting. Good service, good quality & variety,.meat quantity is small
Really enjoyed the vibes & felt like the combos were priced well. The small beef platter was perfect for the 3 of us especially with rice & the included sides. Good quality meat as well.
Staff was welcoming & efficient. Fun decor. Pork belly was pretty generic & unseasoned for the price. My friend enjoyed the rib steak but I think it was only good after we cooked it with the rosemary & salt. Vegetables were actually the best part, great quality. Lychi campari cocktail was pretty & wasn't bad but a little sour.
The best & most authentic Korean BBQ spot in Montreal!
From the fresh & delicious food, refreshing cocktails to the beautiful interior decor of the restaurant, you will definitely feel you're transported to Seoul!
Ordered the following:
Mix Combo with additonal Chadolbaggi - meat was very fresh & high quality
Pajeon - perfectly cooked with a lot of ingredients.
Rose Tteokbokki - creamy & rich!
Haemul Sundubu Jjigae - sumptuous & flavorful seafood broth
Kimchi Fried Rice - Delicious mix of flavor & texture!
We also had the Busan Midori cocktail which was so refreshing! Perfect to cool down after each bite!
& we ended the meal with dessert - Hotteok Ice Cream. Perfect contrast of warm & chewy Korean pancake with Ice cream, cranberry sauce & mixed nuts!
My suggestion is order as much as you like on the menu - the servings are huge, which means you get to bring home extra delicious food for the next day!
Will definitely be back for more!
I came here with company who wanted to try this restaurant & wasn't disappointed with the quality of service & food! The servers were kind, attentive & were quick to assist with cooking our ordered meats. They also refilled our side dishes quickly when we ran low on them. it's a great Korean BBQ place! I was able to recognize almost every K-Pop song they played in the restaurant as well, so that was fun 😆
Nice Korean BBQ place with a really cool atmosphere. When you walk in, it actually feels like being in Korea: they have screens that look like the subway or Incheon Airport, which is a fun detail. The restaurant is big & spacious, which is great whether you come alone, with two people, or with a group. We were five & it was very comfortable.
The menu has a lot of choice. We took a combo for five people & there was more than enough food. You get a lot of meat plus three side dishes. We chose the corn (really good) & the budae-jjigae (army stew).
About the budae-jjigae: it was okay, but if you've had it in Korea, you'll probably be disappointed. The ramen noodles felt a bit low quality & there was no cheese, so it didn't really taste like the real thing.
The meat itself was very good, & grilling it was fun. The side dishes are refillable, which is a big plus, especially the glass noodles & cucumber. The kimchi was a bit tasteless for me (not very spicy or fermented), better when grilled than eaten as is.
Service was a bit mixed. When the grill got dirty, no one changed it unless we asked. Also later, when it got busier, it felt like only one of the two servers was really working, so things were slower.
One downside is the ventilation because there are extractors over the tables, but they were surprisingly off. Better to put your jacket away.
Overall, good food, nice vibe, generous portions. With better service & ventilation, it would be even better.
This place is okay. The portions are a bit on the small side, but not downright a rip-off. The meat is served as-is, not transformed in any way, & unseasoned. For the same money, I'd go either to Gyu-Kaku or Gyubee for higher quality meat.
I don't recommend it, but I wouldn't complain when my co-workers go I suppose.
Great experience, great service, delicious & high quality food. Zhenora was awesome for the service.
Very good Korean food, tasty meats that are not necessarily the highest quality but are still very good & competitively priced
Recommend the rice wine, & the option for no flavou
