Garlic knots were so oily that it felt like a sponge soaked in oil biting into it. Fettuccine alfredo seemed like it was reheated frozen pasta & completely tasted like béchamel sauce. Pizza was okay, but not the greatest i've had in the city. Totally understand that it has a rep for being family ran, & the environment was nice, however, the food totally missed. Would not return again.
Best pizza place in Montreal. Everything about this place is perfect
Family & friendly environment. Noisy environment caused by people talking. No background music. The pizza is really good, maybe a little overdone with the house tomato sauce. You can only change one item per pizza. If it could be more personalized, it would be perfect! Many people bring their own wine. The pizza is the size of an individual plate. Reserving a table might be a good idea to avoid the 30-minute wait.
Amazing first experience. Was there for a Christmas Party & will definitely be back. The bread, the meatballs, the pasta, the pizzas everything was amazing! Bring your own wine!!!
Pizzeria Napoletana is the most incredible icon of Little Italy Montreal. Pasta & pizza at its perfection. The food is delicious & authentic. The variety of pastas & pizzas will satisfy even the most finicky. All of the food is prepared fresh & delicious. The service is friendly & courteous. The portions are generous. The prices are reasonable. You can bring your own wine or if you forget, you can buy a bottle across the street at their very own retail store of wines & Italian products. We'll, the lineups at their door on Friday & Saturday nights says it all, but well worth the wait I assure you of that. This place has been around for as long as I have, & like me perfection all the way. Ready for this one - I rate Pizzerria Napoletana 6 out of 5 mustaches for its perfection & longevity. Tell them that Uncle Carmine sent you.
Probably the best spot in Montreal to get a Neapolitan pizza. Be prepared to be in the line for at least 20 minutes, this is the time we waited for on a mid-week day to be seated. The service was good & attentive & came to our table periodically. We were seated on the patio area but still was hard to hear each other as the noise was quite high from inside the restaurant however that is not a bad sign & I don't complain about it. The food was quite good & got ready relatively fast although that was not my favourite dish nothing was wrong with the food as my taste or moose was different on that day. Moreover, there are a variety of pasta on the menu & next time I will go for that.
The atmosphere & the service were very good. However, if you've been to Italy & had a pizza there, you will most likely be disappointed with the pizza here.
A long standing Italian restaurant in the little Italy of Montreal. It's casual, great to be on the sidewalk with an attentive server. The pizza looks great & to the taste. The sauce & colour of the lasagna is a bit off my palette.
As many know, this restaurant was THE go-to place in Montreal for phenomenal pizza in the 1990's. Quality of their pizzas has greatly declined since then as I wouldn't recommend this place. Food, in general, is salty with no attention to detail. Their meatballs are tasteless & over-priced ($15/2). The classic entre of olive oil with balsamic vinegar must be asked for & was served to us in small plastic containers where we had to mix it ourselves. Waiters dress in sloppy shirts... & no longer dress appropriately as they take rob you from the once-authentic Italian restaurant. Disappointing overall.
My review is the review of someone who came to this restaurant for around 30 years with my Nonna initially & my dad since I was a child. The first thing I noticed after eating here twice within just a few weeks apart, the quality of the food varies greatly from one occurence to the other. Two weeks ago the food was very good & yesterday, very underwhelming (wet pizza, mooshy & tasteless pasta) & that, even if we ordered twice the exact same meals. Difficult to know what to expect: the Pizzeria Napoletana of my childhood or some generic italian pizzeria that I feel is not worth going back to? I wish I could say the former but at this time, for me the consistency is lacking to say the least. The prices have increased tremendously over the 30 or so last years but I get it, prices increase everywhere. The quality of the food should at least not be affected by any of that. Although it took a little too long for our liking to be attended to initially, the waiter we had was good & seemed to enjoy his job which we appreciated. Unfortunately, it is not something we can say about everyone in the staff that day. As if working there for a long time allows you to not care about welcoming people properly. An effort should be made to serve customers properly.. placing the forks & plates in front of each customers instead of in the middle of the table in a bunch like saying "serve yourself we're not here for that" (it's been like that for a long time though). This is gonna sound weird & I hope it's not gonna be taken in a wrong way because it's something not everyone will understand or agree with but.. I understand waiters origins have changed over time as I understand time have changed with the lack of workforce & you have to hire good waiters & not just any italian waiter just because it's an italian restaurant.. but the fact that waiters speak spanish amongst themselves is just breaking the vibe for me. Just think of an african restaurant that would have asian waiters talking their native languages between them. It would be kinda weird right? Not because spanish is closer to italian that it's less weird. The only people that would disagree probably can't tell the difference. It simply dilutes the "italian food experience" further more. Anyways, if this wasn't one of my favorite childhood memories I would propably not say a word. Simply trying to help preserve the greatness that I remember. Sorry if this offended anyone. Definitely not the goal intented.
Terrasse agréable éloigné de l'avenue à l'ombre. Serveur sympathique. Par contre déçu des pizzas. 4 fromages & funghetto.
I have been coming to this place for years, & their food has been amazing, but tonight the pizza I ordered was awfully salty. The server & the staff although nice did nothing about. I am very disappointed for a place of this caliber & reputation.
