Pizza Toni had come highly recommended but after visiting & tasting a couple of slices I'm left scratching my head.
The pizzas looked beautiful but I thought both the classic cheese & the vodka pep both really lacked in flavour & were honestly quite bland. From the sauce to the cheese, even the pepperoni, had no punch & overall salt levels were too low.
Credit to the dough though I thought both the classic cheese had a great crispy crust & I really enjoyed the crust & chew on the square slice.
I really wanted to enjoy Pizza Toni, maybe I overhyped it too much, maybe I got two mediocre slices.
Hits all the trendy place staples but sort of falls flat. Not the best texture & consistency throughout the slice. Overall quite pricey, was about $9 for a single slice & drink.
Wow! Sooo good!
The dough has a nice texture & crunch. The pizza had a great undercarriage. The toppings were very tasty.
Tried 2 slices, walked around Mile End & then had to go back to order a whole SHGP pizza to take back home. Definitely a place to try!
Nice place for a quick slice of thin crust pizza. The sauce is what makes it worth the trip. It's pretty darn good.
After 3 orders, I cannot recommend the square pizzas. Twice now I've received pizzas where the bottom crust was dense & flat with no air volume. The rim had minimal crispness & the underside was all soft with no browning.
I know it's not supposed to to be like this because the first one I've received was incredible & didn't have these issues. I've never had this happen ordering a square vodka pizza elsewhere either.
While I can't say what causes this, I do know that given the premium price they shouldn't be serving this.
It's a shame too because the toppings are great, although I think just a few more pepperoni slices would be a tiny change that improves the pizza a lot.
The New York slice was not the best I've had but it's a somewhat cheap slice to just try in the area if you are wanting some pizza. Maybe the Sicilian slice would be a better choice
The few times I've passed by this place it has always been reasonably busy, so I had some expectations based on the hype. My review is very subjective as I am not too much of a fan of this style of thin, crispy pizza. I favour a thicker, softer pizza personally. I went for the Vodka pep slice. The ingredients were good, tasty sauce but I felt like the cheese was too light for my liking & the overall crispy texture of the pizza just wasn't for me. Service was acceptable, they managed the high demand well. I like the interior set up including the sink to get the grease off your hands before you leave.
I really don't get what's so special about this place. The food is okay, but stingy on the toppings, very thin crust (I guess that's what people look for in a'NYC' style pizza), a bit pricey for smallish slices but it is an expensive neighborhood. The sauce was kinda nice. Really shows you the power of proper marketing.
Best pizza I ever had. Staff was super kind, made a mistake on my order when it was busy, & gave me a free slice. Recommend.
First they make my type of pizza , crunchy crispy thin slice pizza & well done , Bravo to the pizza maker. Too bad it's so far from my place & can't order regularly, It's an easy 5 star pizza diner unfortunately they messed up my first order giving me 2 all dressed & left out my spicey joney garlic pizza , I guess will try again in the near future.
Best slice I've had in Montreal so far, quality ingredients & cooked perfectly with a beautiful undercarriage (crust). This spot has a friendly & vibrant vibe, my go to pizza shop for a slice that reminds me of a New York style slice. Can't recommend enough!
Best slice in town. Pizza Toni understood the assignment: crispy, thin crust, simple but delicious toppings. Nothing fancy or over the top, just amazing food, & great vibes!
The store was closing, I wanted to try their famous pizza while in Montreal. They declined reheating the slice of pizza for me because they were closing, but they offered it for free too.
Visited this place for the first time absolutely amazing!!! they sell pizza by the slice & whole pizzas. Definitely worth the visit. Would recommend to anyone who's a pizza lover.
Stopped by just as I was walking by late at night. Although it was busy, I only ordered a peperoni slice service so was fast. Few spots to sit down & eat, tons of benches to sit & eat outside. Aesthetic decor & sweet house music tracks make for good vibes/atmosphere. Slice was pretty solid, especially loved the peperoni cups, though i honestly thought it coulda used a bit more cheese. I'm confident the pizza would of tasted even better if I ordered a whole fresh pie rather than slice though.
I came in to try Pizza Toni while visiting family in Montreal. It's a good classic thin & crispy pizza. Bonus points for playing 21 savage inside. Nice staff & they stick to classic options. I'd say the slice needed a little more sauce for me but other than that, it was good overall. 7.1 on the scale. Check out the videos below for the full review!
Best slice in the city! Pizza of the day every day, always good. Good people, good vibes. My go to spot for good NY style pizza.
