unfortunately overhyped.
i was super excited to come try this place, but unfortunately paid 90+ for barely seasoned steak. there's very little seating place, a long waiting line & no washroom available. (i'd give 3 1/2 star overall)
i'd recommend the other dishes, you can get better steak fries in montreal.
This place is great! I've had the Cheesesteak & the Animal Style fries, & haven't been disappointed. Plus, the ambiance & vibe is right up my alley. Don't forget to order the house lemonade, it will hit the spot with your meal 😁
We kept hearing some variation of'the best Wagyu deli in Montreal,' which immediately raised an important question: are there actually enough, or any, Wagyu delis in Montreal to make this a competitive category? (If so, genuinely, can the aforementioned influencers please enlighten me? I'm interested.)
Anyway, setting aside the dramatic clickbait titles & glowing slow-motion steak videos, we skipped the famous Wagyu-&-fries situation (Steak Frites'On the Road'). Partly because I don't particularly like fries 🤷?♂? & partly because I wanted a sandwich.
Also, I'm not sure if it's there as a joke or for price anchoring, but the idea of a $150 Kobe steak option being on the menu of a mostly takeout sandwich counter raises many philosophical questions...
Instead, we went with the Pinnacle Cheesesteak, which was apparently one of their most recommended items. First, if cheese was present, it was very subtle-we didn't taste it at all. What absolutely did show up was the steak. A lot of it. I definitely got my 20$ worth on that. You mostly taste beef, a vaguely savory sauce, & admittedly solid bread holding everything together pretty well. (Bread is important.)
For what it is, it's alright. It's well located for tourists & locals roaming around the historic area, the portions are good enough, & the pricing feels pretty aligned with other trendy sandwich spots in the city. No major complaints there.
But does it live up to the hype? No, not even close. I think that says more about the marketing style than the food itself, though.
seen this place on tiktok & wanted to try, it looks appealing so i went there with my boyfriend. The whole place smelled disgusting like greasy parmasean so i felt sceptical. My gut instinct was right, when i tried the steak it was CHEWY.. too chewy & it just taste bad, extremely over hyped. the only good this was the sauce.. not even the fries or the steak that i've been wanting to try.. very disappointed, save your money & don't be like me & waste your money.

I tried their steak frites. It was really delicious. The fries had a nice seasoning on it & the meat was tender. I also tried their passion fruit lemonade which was quite refreshing. There are tables for you to sit & eat.
We finally got to try Pinnacle Wagyu & we loved every bite. The steak & truffle fries are simple yet very packed with flavour 🤌🏻🤌🏻
Will definitely go back to try more items on the menu ⭐?⭐?⭐?⭐?⭐?
I recently tried Pinnacle Wagyu & had a really great experience overall. I ordered the On the Road Wagyu & really enjoyed it.
It wasn't the most tender Wagyu I've had, but it was still incredibly flavorful & genuinely delicious, the taste definitely stood out. The truffle fries were also amazing & paired really well with the meal. Everything felt fresh & thoughtfully prepared.
There was a bit of a wait as the restaurant was quite busy, which is understandable given how popular it's been getting online. I can definitely empathize with the staff; they handled everything professionally despite the rush.
Overall, I was really impressed & would absolutely go back again soon !!

I enjoyed the taste of their steak, especially the fries. The steak was tender, but they didn't ask about your preferred level of doneness. While the overall food quality was good, we were disappointed with the portion size & price.
Another thing to consider is that they don't serve you, & they use disposable plates. This might affect your decision on whether to tip.
Finally, the utensils weren't suitable for eating the steak or even the fries. The fork & knife were useless for either.
Please just try the Pinnacle Cheesesteak, thank you. (Wagyu steaks on fries is also good, but that damn sandwich is just amazing! Will come back to try other sandwiches...)

My expectations for this place were quite high, mainly because the advertising looks really appealing. However, after trying it, I felt a bit disappointed.
The meat, overall, is decent-nothing exceptional, but it does the job. Unfortunately, the fries were a major letdown. It felt like they were rushed during cooking; they were undercooked on the inside, lacked flavor, & overall were poorly prepared.
On the positive side, the special mayo is really good & stands out.
If they improve the quality of the fries, this could easily become a great combination. For now, though, it's good meat & a great sauce paired with very low-quality fries.
Good spot in the Old Port with a cozy setup. The steak sandwich stood out, the pulled beef burger was enjoyable, & the smashed burger was just average. Fries were on point & the fresh lemonade was a nice touch.
The wagyu in their cheesesteak was succulent & so tender. The animal style fries was loaded with flavour. Amazing elevated deli in the middle of old Montreal
