Review Summary

Pincette - Bar à Homard shines in Old Montreal as a lively, welcoming seafood spot where the lobster takes center stage from poutine and ravioli to rolls and oysters, with many praising the friendly, attentive service and the chic yet cozy ambiance, the strong drinks program, and the terrace for people watching, while a few notes about busy hours, value and occasional menu changes balance the overall picture.

Try the home made lobster ravioli. It was incredible. The one thing to note is that the protion is not huge. But we had already had appetizers so it was perfect for me. The best appetizers we had were the Ceasars salad (made properly with anchovies) & the grilled octopus.

If you are really hungry- another at my table had the surf & turf which looked really good but was eaten so fast I did not get a chance to try!

Another person with us had the poutine- it was ok & had good crab & lobster meat. But in Quebec there are lots of places for poutine.

Try the home made lobster ravioli.

Cloth napkins & tip NOT forced on you by the machine, wins my heart & puts to bed two of my usual restaurant pet peeves. Our first meal in old Montreal & it didn't disappoint. We did the two course lunch.
The couscous salad was excellent as was the Mahi Mahi. The burrata pasta was pretty good, a bit flat for some reason. The burrata was excellent but the meal itself fell a bit short despite how great it looked. Service & atmosphere were both excellent. Highly recommend.

Bonjour,

Excellent seafood & good cocktails, for a restaurant in the tourist area this is a gem. The lobster poutine is excellent but the scallops are the best.

Googled for a French & seafood combo restaurant in old town during our 8 hour layover & landed on this one randomly. Amazing spot! Great atmosphere, outdoor & indoor seating, friendly staff, & spectacular food!! Would definitely come back again. We got the poutine, the tuna, & the white sangria... All were absolutely delicious!

We visited this restaurant in Montreal while traveling & were excited to try their lobster dishes. The atmosphere was nice, & we ordered several dishes with wine & beer. However, the lobster steak risotto was served cold, & service felt a bit rushed as dishes were cleared after about 1.5 hours.

There were also small issues, such as my daughter not receiving ice until I asked again, & no clear answer about charging my phone. At the end, the server questioned the tip amount, which made us uncomfortable even though we still left $60.

Overall, while the food had potential, the service experience left us feeling disappointed.

Enjoyed lunch on table on the sidewalk table.
Good food. I had mackerel spread on toast with kale leaves, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, carrot julienne, etc., topped with an egg poached & some caviar, & of course a double espresso with hot coffee ...
My son had a very tasty Lobster Poutine ...

Nice format for a tourist restaurant. Small menu, decent food, reasonable prices. Good place for a lobster if you want that. Lobster roll was ruined by tasteless, soggy bun. We are the lobster as a salad instead; it was a bit too salty that way. Servers were professional & friendly. Grilled fish was good. Couscous ok but again heavy on the salt.

Food was just ok, service was not great. We tried a lobster roll & the surf & turf. The steak was the star of the show, the lobster tail was overcooked. The lobster roll didn't have much flavor & several pieces of shell in it, i liked the salad better than the lobster roll (if you know me, that is not a good sign as to the lobster roll).

DELICIOUS food & drinks - we had a table on the front patio so we enjoyed our meal in the cool evening breeze. Would recommend the scallops appetizer, lobster risotto, & their tasty cocktails.
