Pincette - Bar à Homard shines in Old Montreal as a lively, welcoming seafood spot where the lobster takes center stage from poutine and ravioli to rolls and oysters, with many praising the friendly, attentive service and the chic yet cozy ambiance, the strong drinks program, and the terrace for people watching, while a few notes about busy hours, value and occasional menu changes balance the overall picture.
Our Waitress Vana was delightful, very chipper & very efficient. 10/10 for Vana! Atmosphere is always cozy & warm, great for winter. I really liked the clam chowder. The scallop risotto was very good but we were sad that the lobster ravioli & seafood mac & cheese weren't on the menu anymore. All in all a very nice evening at one of our favorite restaurants in Montreal!
Try the home made lobster ravioli. It was incredible. The one thing to note is that the protion is not huge. But we had already had appetizers so it was perfect for me. The best appetizers we had were the Ceasars salad (made properly with anchovies) & the grilled octopus.
If you are really hungry- another at my table had the surf & turf which looked really good but was eaten so fast I did not get a chance to try!
Another person with us had the poutine- it was ok & had good crab & lobster meat. But in Quebec there are lots of places for poutine.

After being seated by the somewhat unfriendly hostess, we received excellent service from Juliette who is adorable & attended to us in an extremely friendly & professional manner. The oysters were good but I found shell fragments in 2 out of 3 of them which was a bit unpleasant. The Caesar salad was very good, the lobster risotto also but the best was the lobster ravioli which was extremely yummy & which I can highly recommend! Good selection of wines & nice, laid back atmosphere.
Unbelievable honestly, this is so far my favorite place in Montreal to eat. Last time I had the scallops & caviar. They were seared to perfection, juicy in the center & with the saltiness from the caviar, to die for. Onto the main course, the lobster ravioli, authentic, rustic, with big chunks of lobster. A truly superb dish. I highly recommend this place & I will be back.
We had a great time at Pincette. The service staff was friendly & attentive, while the food itself was delicious. In fact, my husband has never been a fan of oysters & hadn't had one in years, but after some encouragement to try them at Pincette, he said they were the best he'd ever had! The quality of the oysters here encouraged him to try them at other places around Montreal. Also, the lobster ravioli were our favorite, while the lobster tail risotto was expertly done. Sometimes, risotto can be a little unbalanced in the preparation, but we were honestly impressed by how well it turned out. We sat next to the window, which allowed for fantastic people watching as we enjoyed our meals & cocktail. Overall, we booked a reservation here on a whim just a few days before our trip but we're glad we did. We are certain you'll enjoy Pincette as much as we did!
We went to take my mom to an early Mother's Day dinner. The cod fritters were a hit, & we had the lobster ravioli, the lobster tail with risotto & fish of the day. The food was delicious, & my mom had a great time. Definitely coming back l!

I am actually really disappointed with Pincette. I love seafood so I was really excited to go here. The staff who greeted us & served us at the bar were great & the drinks were excellent as well. However, the food was a complete disappointment! My table got the lobster ravioli & the lobster & clam cassolette. The lobster ravioli barely even tasted like lobster. It was good, but it tasted like cheese ravioli! The cassolette was even more disappointing. It tasted seriously bland. The potatoes were slightly undercooked & the sauce was watery & tasteless. Maybe I am used to cooking at home but the clam & lobster portions were very small. Especially for the price! Maybe we just got a bad plate because everyone else seemed to like it.
What a fantastic first experience! my friends & I enjoyed a truly delicious dinner.
We started with oysters from PEI, really fresh. We then shared the grilled octopus & fried cod, the octopus was a personal favourite of mine.
We all shared mains, lobster roll, lobster ravioli & lobster with risotto. All were super tasty & really hit the spot, the lobster roll was wonderfully seasoned & had a generous serving of meat, the fries were nice & crispy.
Our experience would not have been the same without our wonderful servers, David & Vanna, they were so friendly & hospitable, they really set the bar for proper service. Thanks again for a great first experience at Pincette.
Ambiance & decor is thematic warm & charming. Super friendly service. The food was good. We expected better though. Was a bit disappointed that my lobster was borderline fresh. Tasted like it got washed. Half of it had a bit of a mush texture. I would have returned it but we were on a time crunch & had other engagements later that Saturday night. My daughter, a also a fan of lobster had the raviolis. They were just ok. They tasted more like seafood than lobster. The filling did not have much lobster flesh texture. However the bisque did elevate the dish. I would return but only during lobster season. We will give this place a second chance. Other than that, their scallop ceviche was delicious & their arancini were perfectly textured.

The three of us each had a wonderful meal The house-made lobster ravioli with hand folded dough was divine. The table was nicely set outside in a beautiful spot in Old Montreal. Juliette was wonderful. She was very patient with our limited French speaking capabilities & kept encouraging us. She was courteous, efficient & made our dining experience pleasurable. We highly recommend eating here.
Our waiter, Juliette & her associate, David were the consummate professionals; knowledgeable & utterly helpful & charming! The food was as impressive as the service! Recommended is the scallop appetizer, the lobster ravioli main & the Basque cheesecake.
Belle expérience!! Soirée parfaite. Je recommande les raviolis aux homards. Les raviolis sont faits maison, c'est un must! L'entrée de pieuvre grillé avec hummus était vraiment très bon. Bref, tout était succulent. On va y retourner certainement.
