I was welcomed by the manager Adrian. Where do I start? He made me & my family feel so welcome & suggested delicious meals & drinks, while being aware of our allergies & restrictions to certain foods. He kept his smile & friendliness all throughout our time at pigeon. I was looking at him from afar, & I can say that he is deemed to be manager. Very skilled at his job & you can tell he loves it. Will come again thanks to the experience he gave me!
We came here for drinks & a mid day snack on a Saturday afternoon. Super cute ambiance & decor. Espresso martini was delicious! The Mediterranean dips were divine - only feedback we had was to include more pita bread since the proportion felt a little off compared to how much dips there was. But we were able to get extra servings afterwards which was appreciated!
I was hoping my experience would be different from what other people were saying, but it wasn't.
Food is good, decor is nice; but the service takes forever. All steps of it, from being greeted & getting seated, to getting your drink, ordering food, & getting it.
It took fifty minutes from finally getting a seat (we had a reservation & could see empty tables) to getting our drinks. The place has that reputation & it's well-deserved. I won't go back.
My family of three went for Brunch on Easter Sunday. It was very busy & were glad that we had reservations. The host ended up being our server as well & sat us without a beverage menu. We had to get up & get our own. He must have forgotten about us because after 15 minutes he finally came over to ask us our orders. I watched our drinks sit at the counter for about 10 minutes before he brought them to us. Our food did come relatively quickly but the poached eggs were hard boiled & the pancakes were lukewarm as well as my daughter's hot chocolate. Overall, I was disappointed & would only recommend this location for the fake, dusty trees your camera phone won't capture & to only go during off times.
This place is beautiful! We came in for some cocktails & were not disappointed. Gorgeous decor inside & delicious drinks. It did take a while for our drinks to be made, which is my only negative. We didn't try the food, so we will have to be back as the dishes coming out looked amazing!
Tried this restaurant on a Sunday & it was pretty busy. The service was good, but our waiter didn't have a full understanding of the menu, especially when it came to vegan options.
We ordered the fattoush salad, the vegan version of the avocado toast, a smoked meat sandwich, fingerling potatoes on the side, & two freshly pressed orange & grapefruit drinks. The drinks were refreshing & the food was good. The fattoush was tasty, but not as good as the ones you'd get in an Arabic restaurant.
The place looks nice almost like a jungle inside. I would go back.
Starter: Spinach/Artichoke dip with bread. It was my first ever attempt & it was delicious.
Main dish: Organic Salmon, I didn't enjoy it
Drink: Margarita, Virgin Mojito. Was just Ok
Excellent customer service & amazing environment.
I have been here many time & most times I come for take-out coffee. It is always excellent on my way to work & I highly recommend the Mocha. All I say is that it can get quite busy & a bit unorganized at the door so it's hard to work around finding a space to wait for my drink being made. Other than the small hiccup I really enjoy the togo treats & come as often as I can.
Food & drinks were really good. We received an amazing service from Catherine. Would recommend!
I went to Pigeon cafe & bar this past Thursday evening just looking for a latte & dessert, but ended up getting so much more. I was greeted & served warmly by the barista & invited to sit at the bar where I unexpectedly spent hours chatting away with the barista & bartender & vibing to the music provided by the DJ. My drinks were super well made, the dessert was fantastic, the atmosphere was a vibe & the company & service (i.e. the barista & bartender) was superb. I will definitely be back soon!
I've gone to Pigeon a few times (different friends invited me), & my experiences have varied. Sometimes, it's easy to find seating & the staff there is friendly, but others it's quite difficult to get a spot & the servers aren't always kind - really depends on the day!
The constants are:
- Drinks are good, but too expensive for what you're getting;
- There's a great variety of food options (also expensive), but I've never had anything truly amazing;
- Seats are very comfortable & overall ambience is good, although it can get loud depending on when you go.
There's a lot of space, so if you have a reservation (& are willing to spend $$), it's a good place to go to catch up with friends & family in the downtown area, but not my favourite.
The café is really aesthetic, with beautiful decor & a cozy vibe. However, the service could be improved: we were asked to pay before we had even finished our drinks, & we felt a bit stared at, almost as if we didn't belong there. A shame, because the place itself is definitely worth a visit.
A dash of corporate Montreal
Strange little spot that is doing its best to create a vibe. Looked cozy inside but didn't translate to the patio area outside although the plants & lights were decent. Menu was limiting for someone with dietary restrictions, service was fairly slow but super friendly & nice. Our server was quite kind but did bring out the wrong food but corrected it quickly.
The drinks are why the food score is so low- the mimosas were not mixed at all. It was a shot of cheap wine & then a glass of orange juice weighed down underneath. It was unpleasant I'm afraid. I would not go for a little morning mimosa brunch again.
Their food & drinks are not good at all. I ordered the tuna tartare which was fishy & plein & a matcha latte which tasted like medicine.
However service was good & the ambience is amazing!
Fabulous place in the heart of downtown Montreal with great food, especially my favourite Mediterranean Chicken Bowl =)
Very nice staff & reasonable prices. Great decor inside & beautiful patio/terrasse outside during summer. Stop by for food or drinks if you're in downtown.
LOVE THIS PLACE! The atmosphere, the food, the music, the drinks… so good! I've been a few times & have never been disappointed by this place. At first I was very confused but the barista with the red hair (maria i believe) but she was so helpful & made me the BEST caramel latte i've had in montreal. 10/10 would recommend!
The food was delicious & service was good. I had the merguez shakshuka at the recommendation of the server & it was fantastic, just spicy enough, the pine nuts & pomegranate were fresh & had a nice crunch, the tahini was very flavorful, the egg yolks were moderately runny which is perfect for shakshuka, & the stewed tomatoes were fresh & bright tasting. Overall the ingredients were very good quality & preparation was very good. 8/10 I also had an Americano, which was decent, about 7/10, although it had a slight burnt taste. Contra other reviews, service was very good for my Monday lunch. A hostess noticed me with 10 seconds, walked over, & seated me. She seemed busy, so after I put my menu down to show I was ready, I made eye contact with the bartender/barista & he jumped in to take my food & drink order. Every server was friendly & helpful. The food was just the right portion & the price was what I expect for the very central & busy location & chic, vibey interior. I am a pretty tough reviewer, but I think this place deserves a solid 4.1, 4.2.
