We went to Pigeon Café on Monkland this afternoon for a late day breakfast. Called ahead to make sure they serve breakfast all day & that we weren't ordering breakfast items at a time they dont normally serve it. Numerous breakfast items were 100% on the lunch menu. We were VERY disappointed. I ordered 2 eggs over-easy with grilled salami, breakfast potatoes, & white toast. The eggs were fried hard & crispy, the grilled salami was paper thin, & had obviously been sitting around for quite a while. It was dry & inedible. The deep friend potatoes had been left-over from lunch, dry, dehydrated, & cold, finally the toast was unbuttered. My fiancee ordered the Avocado toast, the Avocado was not ripe & hard to cut & eat.
The restaurant was not busy at all, only 3 other tables & 3 or 4 wait staff. This is when you should be at your best bcuz you don't have an excuse like'we were busy'. If you can't excel when it's slow & you're not busy, then either you're just bad or you don't care. As a (now), retired Master Chef, I would NEVER serve food like this at any time, let alone when the restaurant is almost empty & I have more than enough time to get it right. I hate giving bad reviews as it can really affect a business, but when it's this bad & there is no reason for it, it has to be said.. in saying that, I also believe owners/managers need to know whats going on. They can't fix something if they don't know its broken. Based on todays visit, I do not recommend Pigeon Café on Monkland. ⭐?⭐?
Pigeon Café boasts an awesome, clean, & comfortable atmosphere, making it a genuinely pleasant place to relax. However, the coffee was average - a decent caffeine fix, but nothing special.
Unfortunately, the food options, while perhaps appealing, are on the higher side price-wise & ultimately not worth the cost. The pastries & sandwiches were just okay & didn't justify the expense.
Service was a definite plus; the staff were friendly, efficient, & polite.
Overall, Pigeon Café offers a lovely ambiance, but the value for the food is lacking. It earns its 3 stars for the great atmosphere & service, but be prepared to pay a premium for unremarkable food. Stick to the coffee if you're looking for better value.
Really loved this cafe, everything was yummy & the prices were affordable compared to a lot of other brunch spots in Montreal. My party of 5 & I just happened to get a table when we walked in but a line to be seated formed as we waited for our food.
Definitely a little disappointed, 4th time going to this location, try to visit every time I come from Toronto. Last week was not the same tasty dishes that I always get & now definitely expect from pigeon...I'm just sad tbh I wanted great food. Pancakes & Shakshuka were not the top tier standard of pigeon cafe
We were in from the US amid the chaos of the 2024 presidential campaign caused by "criminal & chief" Trump, so Tennessee's excellent service brought us well-prepared morning treats in a quite surprisingly elegant & comfortable atmosphere added to the rest, peace, & rejuvenation we so desperately needed! 5-star cafe & a must for an optimistic & joyous start to your day! Again, Tennessee is the best of a great service team serving excellent morning food!

This was my second visit to this café, although the decor is quaint, pretty lights with indoor trees & plants. A blend of Bombay like decor, this place has fallen very short as far as food, quality & service. Very basic. For the first time in my dining experience anywhere I have had to stop a waiter 8 times the to make sure that I had what I ordered (because they got it wrong 2e ice) & everything I needed like my coffee on refill, jam, ketchup & milk. I ordered a plain breakfast plate with poached eggs that were undercooked. The sourdough bread was stale & the taste was awful. I also ordered a slice of pecan pie ( that I took only 1 bite out of & the waitress didn't even ask if I wanted to take away or if it was satisfactory ) & this too was not fresh & the taste extremely disappointing & bland at best. As I waited with dirty plates in front of me for almost an hour after I had done eating was I only then presented with a question if I wanted the bill. Quite frankly overpriced for simplicity of what I ordered & no quality. Needless to say, I will not be returning here again especially when this busy street offers a variety of places & cafés to eat at for the same price.
J'ai été très déçue par le service offert par l'équipe du Pigeon. Premièrement aucun employé ne m'a servis en français. On ne me parlait qu'en anglais malgré que je réponde en français. Ça a été très long avant qu'on vienne me voir à l'entrée pour m'attribuer une place malgré que plusieurs tables étaient disponibles. Mon ami & moi avons reçu nos assiettes avec 20 min d'écart entre les deux. Je me suis brulée le bras sur la casserole en fonte qui contenait mon plat. J'aurais aimé qu'on me prévienne que l'assiette était brûlante & de faire attention en me l'apportant car j'ai maintenant une grosse marque douloureuse. On a demandé un deuxième service de café mais on ne l'a jamais reçu. On a du rentrer à l'intérieur pour trouver quelqu'un & payer au comptoir car personne n'assurait de service de suivi à notre table. J'ai donc été surprise de constater que les options de pourboires suggérés débutaient à 18%... franchement du travail à faire pour former les serveurs à assurer un bien meilleur service à la clientèle. Je dois souligner que les repas étaient savoureux & vous avez de belles terrasses par contre.
The best experience ever . Last week came with my mother-in-law & a friend we had breakfast . What a fantastic day first the waitress GRACE absolutely amazing my mother in law & friend 89yeats old couldn't believe how attentive & the excellent service we received. We asked for some milk usual you need to ask a few times,place is busy you can forget but not Grace she was back immediately. Breakfast arrived quickly & was delicious . The place was busy but Grace had it under control & a smile on her face. We asked for extra coffee didn't have to wait .Grace thank you 😉 The best Breakfast ever . Bravo Pigeon cafe we will be back . Grace is a keeper .
j'ai été manger, au pigeon / saint-laurent, avant celui-ci. Celui-ci les crêpe était moins bonne. Le service est tel que mentionner, dans les évaluations ( mauvais). On nous a offert une table de façon désintéressé ( comme une corvée ) . Quand j'ai demandé un café, on m'a dit de demander à la serveuse ( un peu comme un fonctionnaire 😂). On a dû demander à 3 personnes différentes pour avoir notre deuxième café. ( d'ailleurs café non inclu dans le repas + dispendieux, pour un tel service) Personne n'est venue nous voir à notre table, pendant le repas. On a demandé à plusieurs reprises nos factures. On sait déplacer au comptoirs, car personne n'est venu nous la donner & cette dernières n'était toujours pas prête. 🤣

Food is good, service is awful & indifferent & the noise level is deafening. On the two occasions I have frequented Pigeon Cafe on Monkland, it took more than ten minutes to be seated - even though there were multiple empty seats & tables & between three & six service staff at the bar, plus a line of people waiting to be seated. Once seated, service is super slow. It's like the staff just don't give a damn, they seem to be more interested in talking to each other. The saving grace? The food is good. But at the price & the cost of a less than great dining experience, I won't be going back any time soon, or recommending it to others.
The Café had maybe 12 clients where it seats 80-100 ppl. Waiters were dancing behind the bar, resulting in extremely slow service & barely any service.
Good tasting food & drinks ! Service is a bit slow but that is to be expected on the weekend :) nice staff & cozy ambiance of the cafe with plenty of light & seating options.
Just had a great breakfast at the pigeon cafe & our server Colton was awesome & gave us some great site seeing tips since we're from out of town. Also get the side of hot sauce they make. It's amazing!
We came to this cafe late in the evening to celebrate my mom's birthday after a long day of sightseeing. We dropped in because we had seen on their site that they offered a selection of cakes. We were pleasantly surprised to see a nice interior with live flowers on the tables. The cakes were delicious. We also decided to try other dishes & drinks. Everything was great. The water was attentive & helpful. We will definitely return if we come to the area again.
Commande via Uber d'une Salade scoop : mix de poulet pas frais au goût dérangeant & d'un sandwich Schnitzel livré brûlé! J'ai appelé au Pigeon Café & on me répond que tout ce qu'ils peuvent faire c'est de le dire à la cuisine, & d'appeler Uber... 57,08$ pour un mauvais lunch, c'est cher payé & ça laisse sur notre faim. Allons-nous recommander? Non!
