Excellent service by Jessica & the food was 10/10! My husband (Mexican) & I went for brunch & it was delicious! We will definitely come back to try the dinner menu!Voir plus
Absolutely stunning food presentation matches the decor of this restaurant & its fun atmosphere. We loved exploring South American /Mexican food in this warm atmosphere.Voir plus
Thoroughly enjoyed the food! Loved the Mexican ingredients. It's a good break from all the eggs Benedicts that every other brunch place serves.
The flavour combinations were soo good! Love the use of texture by adding crunchy & soft components in the dishes.
Would definitely go back!Voir plus
This is what the modern Mexican cuisine should be about. It maintains the traditional flavours & combines them with very interesting twists & textures to create masterful pieces. The food & beverages are excellent & the service is spot on. Definitely one of my favourite places.Voir plus
The food was delicious, I have enjoyed all the restaurants from this partnership group. I am over the moon with their mexican brunchesVoir plus
I've always loved going there for lunch or to Caifan at night, the food is really inspired by Mexico, its ingredients & flavors, the service is amazing, friendly & professional, they forgot to put the salsa on a plate but they immediately fixed it. We just celebrated my friend's bachelorette party & everyone loved it! I will continue to invite people to this place especially when they want to try Mexican food.Voir plus
I wasn't expecting to find great Mexican food in Montreal, but this place really exceeded my expectations. Even without a reservation, they were kind enough to accommodate us. Our waitress, Jessica, was fantastic - she welcomed us with Mexican bread & recommended café de la olla to start. The food was rich with authentic Mexican flavors, & Jessica's service made the experience even better. I'll definitely be coming back on my next visit, & I highly recommend checking it out!"Voir plus
Piel Canela is a true gem for anyone craving high-quality, fresh Latin-inspired brunch dishes in Montreal. 📌Chocolate Conchas Their homemade Mexican sweet buns shaped like seashells, are absolutely delicious & the perfect start to your meal! 📌La Patate Bénie Crispy hash browns topped with pork belly, cardamom panko crust, chimichurri, chimichurri cream, pan-fried mushrooms, perfectly cooked eggs, & crunchy chicharrón. It's a perfect balance of flavors & textures, making it a must-try! 📌Sandwich Condorito Rich & packed with high-quality ingredients: mole brioche, duck drumstick confit with mushrooms & chancaca syrup, arugula, jalapeno vinaigrette, crispy potato, gratinated provolone cheese, & avocado spread. It's served with fries & truffle mayonnaise, creating a luxurious, satisfying experience. 📌Batido Horchata A standout-a delightful blend of horchata, espresso, coconut milk, caramel sauce, & toasted coconut, served chilled. It's the perfect way to refresh & finish your meal. ⭐️One reason for the incredible freshness & quality of the dishes is that Piel Canela has a central kitchen outside Montreal, where they prep their high-end ingredients & deliver them to their Montreal locations to be freshly assembled. If you're looking for a unique brunch experience with top-notch ingredients, Piel Canela is the place to be!Voir plus
For me, this is a new concept for brunch restaurant, a fancy mexican brunch place. Well, I tried chilaquiles & they were good but kinda small plate for me. We also order the sandwich condorito & it was also good. I have to say it's a bit pricy but like the concept is different, I will come back to try other plates & also the cappuccino tres leches...Voir plus
Visit again today , I never tired something done well .(Sep 2024) We visit agian , as good as usual.(July 27 2024) Subvert the framework of instagramable restaurants that only eat the decoration but not the food. A Mexican breakfast full of ritual! Mimosa has great flavors to offer, & all kinds of breakfast styles are very special. The Mexican crispy pork is great, with two large pieces of pork floss potato pie, & it is a complete feast.(May 2024)Voir plus
Food is good, not spicy. Good service but unfortunately it's expensive for simple Mexican food.Voir plus
Loved this place!! Food & service were amazing! My favorite Mexican restaurant!Voir plus
Tried the Sandwich Condorito, amazing!! Their café de la Olla is also very good A Mexican friend almost cried tasting it, saying it reminded of how their grandmother used to make it :) Just go & eat there, you won't regret itVoir plus
Very cool breakfast/brunch only spot in Montreal. Less than 90 days old, they are firing on all cylinders. Generous portions, bold flavors, perfect execution. Two of our favorite dishes were the Las Papas Benditas & Duck Tlatoyo. We added some Chilaquiles Skin Canela & a few cocktails to boot. We could have used a third mouth to help us out but wound up finishing everything. Montreal is not really known for its Mexican cuisine & people may avoid it because of that, but, in my view, this is absolutely a worthy visit & should be on everyone's list for breakfast or brunch in Montreal. Be advised of the limited hours & figure out a way to make it work! Absolutely delicious!Voir plus
I went to Piel Canela for brunch on a Saturday. The food was full of flavor (just what you'd expect from a Mexican restaurant), & the ingredients were of good quality. The service was great, we received the food very quickly & all the people who served us were super nice. The down side, though-which might not be really a downside, but more of a personal preference-, is that the music is super loud inside the restaurant. We were lucky that there was room for us outside on the terrace, which was excellent. But if we hadn't found room outside, we wouldn't have stayed. This is our second time at the place, the first time was when we dined at Caifan (same place, but different cuisine), & we thought the same thing. Very good food, excellent service, but the loud music can be a little bit annoying. As I said, this is a personal preference, some people might like to have music at this volume while they eat.Voir plus
A brunch that you must try in Montréal! The dishes are AMAZING, well-served & with a beautiful presentation. It's the authentic mexican cuisine with a modern twist. It brings you back to your roots while giving you the impression of discovering something fully new. Service is outstanding: quick, kind, & effective. All waiters/waitresses know what they're doing & provide a warm, nice service. The atmosphere is spiritual, trendy, & original. Bravo to the owners & the full team! I hope to come back soon & try the mixology. (Also they have t-shirts available & they're super cool.) P.S.: reviews saying it's too sweet or smoky or spicy are misleading. If they expect tex-mex or commercial latin cuisine, this is not the place. Latin cuisine is intense, sweet, spicy & spiritual.Voir plus
This restaurant is decorated with a modern mexican twist. The music is very loud for a brunch spot, we had to yell to hear eachother. Before placing our orders the waitress came around saying that she was "offering us some typical mexican sweets". In my world, when someone uses the word offer, it means its free. We were unpleasantly surprised that we were charged 7$ for one cookie EACH! That being said, the food was excellent & so were the drinks. All very beautifully presented & generous portions. Overall it was a good time but wouldn't go back.. 60$ per person for a brunch is wild.Voir plus
