Review Summary

Pho Thanh Long is described as a consistently solid Vietnamese spot with fast, friendly service, a bright setting and enjoyable music, and generous portions that pair well with delicious pho and a variety of dishes at good value; while some reviews note portions can be slightly smaller than average for the price and the dining room is not glamorous, the overall experience remains reliable, authentic in feel, and popular for casual meals, late nights and dessert options.

To be honest, nothing really stood out. The food was okay, but not memorable enough to make me want to come back. The customer service was also quite minimal - not bad, but not welcoming either.

What disappointed me the most was the portion of meat. I ordered the curry chicken with rice & vegetables, as well as the fried noodles with chicken & shrimp. Both dishes came with very little protein - only about 3 pieces of shrimp, & the chicken portion was also quite small. It felt like we were mostly paying for vegetables rather than the main ingredients.

I've been to other Vietnamese restaurants, & for a similar price, you can definitely get better portions & more satisfying plates elsewhere.

Overall, it's not terrible, but there's nothing that would make me return.

Love this restaurant. It has stood the test of time & for food reason. I'm no connoisseur, but I lived in Vietnam for 9 months 20 years ago & this restaurant just feels right. Great food, great service. I personally like the lemongrass pork chops & rice, but you can't miss no matter what you order.

Service is quick & friendly. Food is always excellent but we no longer go as often. The value proposition is gone with their persistent increases. Prices are up 75% over 3-4 years for mostly noodles & rice. The price/portion on the medium size soup is, silly. Order large portions only.

We passed in front of this restaurant quite a few times as we live nearby. we were looking for something different to eat so we decided to give it a try. Actually Lia had already been with some colleagues from her previous employment. The interior decor is quite simple, the menu heavily favours combo options . We decided to go with the crispy chicken & rice as well as the pho. Service was OK. We kind of wish that we felt more welcome. Accessing the restaurant by foot is quite easy. Parking is a different story. if you're lucky you may find street parking on Saint Catherine St. otherwise there are a few parking lots available in the area.

I was highly impressed with the quality of the food. The vietnamese pork chop with white rice was pretty good. The runny fried egg really adds this authentic feel to it. The fried banana was just ok. The service was a little bit slow as the place was packed with customers going in & out at a good pace.

I visited for dinner.
The service is very fast & the staff are attentive.
I ordered the chicken & shrimp rice rolls. They were delicious, especially with the accompanying peanut butter sauce.
I also ordered pho ga (chicken pho) but I was surprised that the chicken was fried chicken that was cut into pieces. My experience with chicken pho from the many pho restaurants I've been to in different cities in the US & Europe that the chicken comes in thin slices & boiled rather than fried. I also didn't expect the soup to have vegetables like carrots, cauliflower, & broccoli. Although I think it was healthy to have them, but again this was unlike the previous similar dishes I had in other Vietnamese restaurants. Also, the broth was kinda bland. I had to add soy sauce to make it a bit flavorful.
The prices were okay.
