Pho Ly Quoc Su draws mixed but mostly positive feedback: many praise a rich, flavorful broth and well prepared pho, along with other dishes like vermicelli and spring rolls, and the cozy, pleasant atmosphere that suits groups or a casual meal; some bowls and broths have been criticized for blandness or being lukewarm, with noodles that clump or overcook, and the service ranges from attentive and friendly to occasional lapses; prices are noted as fair for downtown by some, though a few consider it pricey; overall Pho Ly Quoc Su remains a solid Vietnamese option in Montreal with a few opportunities for refinement.
We ordered the special beef pho & the dry vermicelli (choose up to 3 proteins). The beef soup pho came with a huge portion of noodles which was amazing, & the flavour was perfect for me (light & simple!). The vermicelli with grilled protein was the best vermicelli I've had, I didn't pour the sauce in because the original flavour was already delicious. The vermicelli was cooked perfectly, with a chewy texture, & it wasn't too oily! The beef & pork were lean but very tender. Flavour was sweet & savoury! The service was excellent & the view was so beautiful. Will visit again!! Highly recommended😋
The ambiance is quite nice & the food is genuinely good - it's clear they've put real effort into the menu & the kitchen. Which makes the lackluster service all the more surprising & disappointing.
I saw my waitress twice during the entire meal: once when she took my order, & once when I had to walk up to the counter to flag her down & ask for the bill. The actual food was dropped off by another staffer.
There were no water refills. No stopping by to check on the meal. She appeared far more interested in her phone than in the customers she was serving.
To the manager: I'd strongly encourage you to implement a no-phones policy for front-of-house staff. Watching your server scroll through their phones while they provide the bare minimum of service creates a genuinely negative atmosphere - & it undercuts what is otherwise a solid dining experience.
Impressed by the food but won't be coming back.

I went with a group of friends & settled with this place because they could accommodate a group of 12. The atmosphere was very pleasant & they had a cosy decor.
Unfortunately, the pho was very bland. The soup felt like it was diluted & was lukewarm. The noodles were in a clump & were overcooked. The meat was chewy & sparingly given. Overall, it's probably the worst pho I've ever had. Most of my friends also agreed the pho was bland compared to other small pho businesses. At least, the spring rolls were delicious. I really hope they improve their pho recipe...
The broth is extremely bland & is definitely not real ph?. I've been to Pho Ly Quoc Su in Vietnam & expected something similar, but this tasted like a poor imitation.
The noodles were unusually short, making them awkward & frustrating to eat with chopsticks.
Overall, this was a major letdown & not worth the money at all.

The food was good but not great - not as fresh as other Pho places in the area. However, the atmosphere was certainly better (more cozy) than most pho places in the city altogether. The service was very friendly & efficient enough to squeeze a meal over a lunch break.
Overall, I would visit again with a group due to the atmosphere & menu variety, but if I was alone or looking only for Pho, it would not be my first choice in the area. I expected better since it is somewhat more pricey than places with better pho.
Today is my first time trying Vietnamese food, & it did not disappoint! The chicken pho is a delicious way to warm up on a cold day. The broth was very rich & the chicken has a nice grilled flavour. I ordered takeout & my order was ready in about 20 minutes.
I ordered a lunch special menu. It's a pho with 2 imperial rolls.
You can choose up to 3 kind of meat for the pho.
I chose well done, beef ball & tendon.
The well done beef was tender & delicious, but beef balls & tendon were not my taste.
I liked imperial rolls.

Great place. Highly recommended for Muslims. They know the halal styles. They know what items aren't halal & will look out for you. & they give bean sprouts & basil with the (no peppers) with the pho so you know it's official.
