Immerse yourself in the rich culinary traditions of Vietnam as we bring you a tantalizing blend of fresh ingredients, bold spices, and time-honored recipes passed down through generations.
Pho Ly Quoc Su draws mixed but largely positive feedback for its authentic Vietnamese Pho and lively, attractive setting. Reviewers repeatedly praise the broth as rich and flavorful and the portions as generous, with chicken pho, beef pho and vermicelli dishes earning praise for taste and authenticity. The interior is described as clean, bright, and cozy with a vibrant decor and a pleasant terrace, making it a popular spot for both locals and visitors. Service is noted as friendly and attentive in many visits, though several diners report occasions of slower service, water not being refilled, or missteps during meals. Some guests mention higher prices and occasional inconsistency compared with other pho places, while others feel the quality justifies the cost and location. A number of reviewers highlight halal options and careful preparation to accommodate dietary needs, and many appreciate the freshness of ingredients and the traditional flavors that recall Hanoi and other Vietnamese kitchens. A few reviews describe less favorable experiences, citing bland broth or clumpy noodles, but these are outweighed by praise for the overall experience and the variety of menu choices, including banh mi and other Vietnamese dishes.
I ordered a lunch special menu. It's a pho with 2 imperial rolls.
You can choose up to 3 kind of meat for the pho.
I chose well done, beef ball & tendon.
The well done beef was tender & delicious, but beef balls & tendon were not my taste.
I liked imperial rolls.
Very sincere & polite attitude with a professional resolution after a few mistakes. I really appreciate your courtesy. The taste is great, & the rare beef is amazingly fresh!

Super yummy! Had the beef & shrimp spring rolls & a Bun bo hue (spicy beef soup). Felt like the food was made with love ❤? Nice spot to go eat when in downtown! P
I went to Montreal for the first time & decided to try this Vietnamese restaurant. I ordered the pho with rare beef & meatballs. It was delicious! Very authentic taste for the pho! The venue was also very big with beautiful decor. They have two floors inside & & outdoor patio area.
Beautiful decor including a cherry blossom tree inside.. beautiful wood tables.. attentive waitstaff. One of the few places that will actually use basil garnish & give you raw beef slices, lime is fresh. Feel like all the foodstuff they use is good quality. Food is decent. I haven't yet found a perfect pho place in Montreal. (Speaking as a Vancouverite)
To preface this review, I went at a non-busy time in a group of 2. We had many issues with the service & food: 1. Ordered a rare beef pho & a rare beef & well done beef pho. Received a well done beef pho & a rare beef & well done beef pho. 2. They served the pho lukewarm! The rare meat didn't cook in the slightest!!!!!!! After asking to reheat the pho, they returned it THE SAME TEMPERATURE. 3. I requested fresh chilis from the staff 3 times throughout the meal & never received any. 4. Very minimal sauce included. They give tiny portions of sriracha/hoisin so you have to keep asking. It would be way better to have the bottles at the table like other authentic Vietnamese establishments. 5. Personal opinion - the pho broth was too sweet, missing some acidity. 6. Don't sit anywhere near the door in cold weather, they leave the outer door open sometimes so when the inner door is opened you'll be frozen. On the bright side, they have friendly staff & a great atmosphere (upstairs is super cool too).
We just had their pho & it was really good the broth was clear but flavorful & the beef was tender the noodles were cooked well & the fresh herbs added a nice touch we also had their fresh spring rolls which were light & tasty we tried the mango smoothie (100% you must try) & you can actually taste the real mango it wasn't too sweet just refreshing overall a solid meal & we'd come back again
Phở Lý Quốc Sư offers authentic Vietnamese flavors with standout phở & bánh mì. The phở features a rich, aromatic broth simmered for hours, with tender beef & fresh, springy noodles. A side of herbs, lime, & chili adds brightness & spice. The bánh mì is equally impressive, with a crispy, yet soft baguette filled with well-seasoned meats, pickled vegetables, fresh cilantro, & a hint of pâté & mayo for extra richness. Both dishes reflect traditional flavors & high-quality ingredients, making Phở Lý Quốc Sư a must-visit for Vietnamese food enthusiasts.
I came across Pho Ly Quoc Su in one of my walks. I had never had Vietnamese food before, but I was hungry & curious, & I'm so glad I entered this restaurant. I visited there twice & both times the staff were so incredibly polite (the most polite staff in MTL I would say). The food tasted absolutely amazing & reminded me of the food we have in Brazil (although different, shares some similarities). I became a fan. The two times I went there I had the lunch menu with soup & beef & white rice (unfortunately I don't remember the correct dish name) but it was so good & nutritive also. During trips we tend to not be able to eat so healthy, but in Pho Ly I truly felt like I was eating appropriately & at home. So so good. I totally recommend & plan to come back before the end of my stay in MTL.
It's ok pho. Broth was OK. It didn't have that Kapow that hooks you. Noodles were the flat wide ones... Not my particular favorite. Rare beef pho was $18. There was no choice of sizes & I thought it was on the medium to small size where the price would've normally warranted, a gigantic bowl. All in all, not bad, but not a knockout. Staff were nice, food came quick, interior was quite nice.

Pretty descent pho 🍜 place in downtown Montreal. We arrived at Montreal late & this is one of the few places that were open at the time. The staff was very friendly & spoke excellent English. We ordered vermicelli & spicy beef noodles. Both came pretty quickly after we ordered & we thought were excellent! The only thing that made me not giving a five star is there were no condiments (fish sauce & spicy sauce) at the table like you would expect. Overall pretty descent place.
Worthy of a 5-stars review. The staff has been cheerful & attentive throughout my lunch. The food was served very quickly & it has truly been delicious, not to mention the large portions. I ended up paying 36.36 CAD (taxes & tips included) for noodles with beef & veggies, plus some plain rice & a good Chinese beer. I shouldn't have ordered the rice, to be honest, because I wasn't able to finish the food anyway. Keep up the great work, you guys!
Had an excellent meal & most helpful service from Nam. The beef on the Mi Xao Goin Bo (his suggestion) was delicious, & I liked the taste & texture of the crispy noodles. My colleague enjoyed her Bun BYO Vermicelli. We split a Cha Gio appetizer. Both of us were delighted & could not eat another bite. It's not a fancy place but we enjoyed the decorations & the window view. Overall a delightful experience & I would certainly come back to sample more of the menu. See menu in posted pics. Recommended!
