Review Summary

Reviewers describe Petit Seoul as a warmly run, family style Korean spot with friendly service and a cozy atmosphere. The menu is praised for hearty bowls, dumplings, tofu dishes, bibimbap, and banchan, with generous portions, good value, and options for vegetarians. Standout dishes mentioned include dakgangjeong, tofu stew, bibimbap, dumplings, and seaweed salad, and the overall vibe is welcoming and efficient. Service is noted as warm and accommodating, and the restaurant is seen as a reliable go to for Korean comfort meals. A caveat from one visit mentions an undercooked egg in ramen leading to stomach discomfort, and some notes about salt content in broth and kimchi, but the overall tone remains positive with many diners saying they would return to try more dishes.

Edit: I've been many times & i wish I would have listened to my instincts this time. I asked them to make the egg for the ramen cooked like not hard boiled but cooked & not runny. It came basically still raw. The waitress is so nice & polite & I was exhausted that day so I didn't say anything & hoped for the best. Sure enough I got pain in my stomach, appendix & a bit of you know what. It's so annoying how whenever I go for Korean food they never cook the egg enough & I get sick but when I ask them to bring it back cooked I don't get sick. I'm never forgetting to do this again. I'm upset they didn't listen to me the first time around & with tax & tip it comes to like $24 for a bowl of very salty ramen that seems like something you could get packaged with a few added fresh vegetables & packaged kimchi which isn't even good for you because it gives you a risk of stomach cancer from the high salt content & nitrates & an uncooked egg. Please be careful everyone. I didn't even eat the full bowl of ramen & this happened

Highly recommend trying it if you're in Montreal. Their tofu salad takes like chicken nuggets & their tea is liquid gold. Also had the dumplings & seaweed salad. Everything was perfect. Nice Korean staff who run their family business with pride. Edit: tofu salad just as good as I remembered

Jan 2026: The banchan were tasty! Warm marinated potato is so satisfying. The vegetable ramen was really good. The broth is not vegetarian which they warned me about & it's obvious (I found tiny pieces of pork or beef in the soup so this is a definite sign it's homemade). The waitress was really friendly, the food came quickly & the music was relaxing. I'll definitely be back to try the other vegetarian options : tofu ramen, egg ramen, veg dumplings, veg dumpling soup, veg with udon stir fry, & more.

Food didn't taste as authentic & was more fusion styles, the usual korean side dishes & kimchi required extra purchase unfortunately

First time going to Le petit Seoul, though I have traveled to South Korea & have been eating Korean soups for 15+ years. The best Korean restaurant in Canada is Han Corea in Calgary, which I use for comparison. First of all, love how the waitress was welcoming & offered us off-menu items. We were told that the restaurant was more catered to westerners so there were many dishes that they don't have such as gamjatang (pork bone soup). Chef is Korean so that's a plus. My soondubu jjigae was very good. Presentation & taste up to my standards. I wish they served with traditional spoons instead of westerner spoons. Same thing with the pitcher of water. Thank you for recommending a NDG soon to open restaurant to us. That's very kind. Very friendly staff & great meal. Thank you.

Very good food. It was my first time trying a non-bbq korean restaurant & I sure wasn't disappointed. The price for what you get is very good compared to other restaurants around, & you get a really tasty meal. The portions are good. The service is also decent & the staff makes sure that you're fine. I would recommend if you feel like having something different in the Mile End. It's even worth a small detou

My favorite Korean restaurant in the city, you will most likely get served by the owner, she is very sweet & attentive. I have tried most of the menu at this point & have never been disappointed. No gimmicks, no pretention, just great food!
