Review Summary

Reviews describe Pâtisserie T.M as a warm, authentic Japanese pastry spot where pastries and desserts are often excellent and presented with care, with standout items like matcha and yuzu tart, melon pan, tiramisu, korokke and karaage sandwiches, and daily specials that keep things fresh; the food tends to be fresh, delicate in flavor, and made with love, and many praise the savory offerings as well as the sweets. However, some notes point out that pastry quality can occasionally fall short of the best Japanese bakeries in town, portions can feel small for the price, and the space is cozy with limited seating, which can make it hard to dine in. Service is a frequent highlight, described as friendly, warm and attentive by many, though a few experiences mention unwelcoming counter moments or the stress of a busy rush. The owners are committed and the establishment is often cited as one of the best in Montreal, a hidden gem for those seeking authentic flavors, with gluten free options available. The place is popular and lines can form before opening, so arriving early helps, and the overall vibe is bright and welcoming, balancing casual cafe fare with refined pastry artistry.

I can't seem to understand the bad reviews. Service from the lady was on point. She's very sweet. As a small bakery with reduced opening hours, a non waste culture & fresh ingredients, this is amazing. Of course you need to come earlier to get the best choices.
Third time coming here, not disappointed at all. Everytime I'm trying something new it's delicious.
This time I had an amazing teriyaki burger, a perfect salmon miso onigiri & an incredible yuzu cheesecake.
Last time the sandwichs were so good. I went out of my comfort zone & tried a chestnuts matcha cake. I personally didn't like the flavor but the cake was not too sweet & well balanced.
If you're used having sweet sugary cakes, unfortunately you won't be able to appreciate the sublte flavour & balance of these cakes.
100% recommend!

We had the chance to go back two days in a row before leaving the Montreal region. Now living more than 5 hours away, if I had to choose only one place to go back to in the region, I would choose that place without hesitation. My girlfriend & I went there a few times, & each time everything was perfect, the service & the food. Everything is fresh & made with love. The owners are really kind & generous. We're really going to miss this place, in hopes we have a chance to pass by again. Thank you for all the good food & the effort you put into making such perfect delicacies.

Second review:
My girlfriend took me back for my birthday to get a'birthday pie' that tasted absolutely perfect. I couldn't have hope for a better dessert for my 30th anniversary. I also had a a buger that was really good & a takoyaki bread. The takoyaki bread really surprised me, everything was really fresh the takoyaki inside wasn't soggy at all. My girlfriend had a melon pan & a matcha tiramisu. Everything was still as good as first time we went. Definitely my favorite pastries shop.

First review:
Very nice discovery, I was looking for a pastry with melonpan (pain au melon) since my trip to Japan & I have never found one anywhere else. The matcha & yuzu tart was sublime. I'll go back!!!

Had the Korokke sandwich & the Karaage sandwich for lunch, as well as the Praline dessert & the Yuzu Mango dessert. Everything was the best quality, absolutely fresh & decadent. No wonder people line up!
Will definitely be back

First time ever trying Japanese desserts & onion soup-& I'm officially obsessed! Everything was insanely delicious. The desserts had just the right amount of sweetness & such fun, unique flavors. Plus, everything tasted super fresh & was priced reasonably!

The place itself is super cozy, & the staff? So kind & welcoming! It's a small café, but people were literally lining up to get in-no wonder there were no seats left. so yeah, definitely go early if you want to grab a spot!
Can't wait to go back!

Beautiful, bright & airy cafe, with a welcoming simplicity in the decor. Everything looks excellent, lots of savoury & sweet options. I ordered the croque monsieur with salad & a hot matcha latte. The salad is light mixed greens with a wonderful, tart vinaigrette. Usually side salads can be a bit dull, & it was anything but. The sandwich was gloriously cheesy, served fresh from the oven, & delightful from the ratio of meat & cheese to the texture of the bread. I also have to mention the charming plate! It felt a bit like when you're a kid being welcomed into a friend's home & having their mom make you a meal. Nostalgic & fulfilling. The matcha is excellent. I tried a sip without sugar & it's very balanced with a yummy earthy bitterness, just like it should be, but I like mine with sugar, & one sugar softened it out to just where I like it, where the bitterness & the sweetness both come through without one overpowering. The staff speak English, French, & Japanese! I was able to muddle by with my basic French, challenging myself to stick it out. But it was a nice safety net knowing I could default to English if I needed to.

Decided to add on a dessert, & I'm glad I did. I ordered a matcha yuzu tartlette. I had just enough room for something small, & it's a lovely little treat. The flavour is great: that lovely matcha earthy bitterness paired with bright yuzu. The filling is velvety & creamy in texture.

Definitely recommend this cafe!

Very tasty except that the mousse cake I ordered they forgot to defreeze it so it was not edible in time for the birthday. I also was disappointed to find out it wasn't fresh & was frozen, for that price I would except it to be made fresh.
