Review Summary

Pâtisserie Coco is a highly regarded destination in Montreal's Chinatown, celebrated for its extensive selection of fresh, delicious, and affordably priced Asian-style baked goods. Customers frequently praise the wide variety of savory and sweet options, including popular items like pork buns, egg tarts, coconut buns, and mochi, as well as their assortment of bubble teas. The bakery operates on a convenient self-service system where patrons use trays and tongs to select their own treats. While the food consistently receives high marks for quality and freshness, experiences with the staff vary, ranging from friendly and helpful to occasionally distant or busy. Despite some comments regarding service consistency and sweetness levels in drinks, the shop remains a beloved spot for both locals and visitors looking for a satisfying snack.

Such a great find. The interior is very neat & you just grab a tray & tongs & help yourself! Staff are very kind especially a certain young lady but I do not remeber her name. Food & pasteries were delicious, I reccomend getting both savoury & sweet options to have a good mix. The only downside is that there isn't a lot of places to sit. The boba is not too special, especially for the price. I would go somewhere else if you want a drink. I was very satisified with the pasteries but not with the drinks. Overall, come here but skip the drinks.

Way too sugary & sweet for a Chinese bakery. It felt like eating straight sugar rather than enjoying nice bakery items. Defeats the purpose of traditional baked goods.

One of my favourites! I love the savoury as much as the sweet stuff! The chocolate covered croissant with bits of crunchy caramel pieces are a delight! The pork buns are also so comforting. Overall, I'd give the food a 9/10.

We stopped in here on a whim after a show literally 30 minutes ago & I practically sprinted to leave a review. We got a steamed bbq pork bun, a coconut custard pastry, a mango mochi, & a skewer of beignets.

I could cry at how delicious these are (were - we inhaled them). The beignets were simultaneously dense & fluffy, the mochi was delicious & surprising, the custard cake was crispy on top & perfectly sweet with an incredible coconut custard, & the pork bun was cozy & rich. Just all 10/10 pastries.

A must try in Chinatown Montreal. So many different kinds of breads, pastries & cookies. Not only sweet but also savory ones.

I love this little place for a quick & cost effective snack or dessert. I dont love the self service thing to pick the food out of the displays but the vibe inside is fun & cute. I have never had an item at coco I hated. I love the garlic cheese bread & the strawberry & cream sweet bun also the ones with hotdogs are a total guilty pleasure. Paired with a delicious Bubble Tea. How can you go wrong?

This place was excellent. After a few days in Montréal & eating some excellent food, stopping in here for a snack was the best choice we've made so far. The pastries were all amazing. So far everything we've tried was excellent, & even if something wasn't quite to our taste, we can fully acknowledge that the quality is great even if the flavor profile doesn't align with our palates. The hot dog bun in particular stands out as one of the best I've had. The staff were excellent & even though it was super busy, they were diligent & courteous.

The only note I have is that the bubble tea was too sweet & the cashier didn't ask for sweetness preferences like I'm used to. But honestly thats a minor thing & overall it was amazing.

A ton of options, both savory & sweet, & everything looked delicious. I can confirm the coconut bun, Hong Kong bun, red bean bun, cheese bun, & Japanese style cheesecake were all amazing. Everything was well labeled, organized, & service was quick. No complaints! Will definitely eat there again.
