Absolutely amazing experience at Patisserie Al Sham! From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed by the rich aroma of freshly made Syrian sweets & a beautiful display that makes it hard to choose just one thing.
Everything tastes fresh, high quality, & perfectly balanced-not overly sweet, just right. The texture & flavors really show the authenticity & craftsmanship behind each item.
The staff are incredibly friendly & welcoming, always happy to help & make recommendations. You can tell they truly care about their customers & their products.
If you're looking for authentic Middle Eastern desserts made with care, this place is definitely worth visiting. Highly recommended!
Great service, but unfortunately low quality. I bought halawet el jiben & Atayef, & they tasted nothing like what they're supposed to. Plus, they didn't use real Achta; it tasted like Labna. 🤦🏻?♂?
English will follow.

I simply asked for khater (sugar water, a traditional accompaniment). I was given only one, & reluctantly. Refusing such a simple gesture creates an impression of pettiness & indifference toward customers.
Unfortunately, the customer service is disastrous. Endless lines, unanswered phone calls, no clear organization, & no display showing what is actually available. Customers wait a long time only to find out that many items are sold out. It is frustrating & disrespectful of people's time.
The product quality is strong, but the service is nearly nonexistent. A business cannot operate sustainably with service at this level. Serious improvements are needed.
Very high quality excellent taste always fresh one of top in montreal
This spot is a true hidden gem for authentic Arabic sweets. The flavors are traditional & delicious - just like in the Middle East. The pastry chef & staff are warm, kind, & welcoming, always offering free tastings so you can pick your favorites. They also make customized birthday cakes, which are both beautiful & tasty. Prices are very fair for the quality you get. From baklava to maamoul to knafeh, everything is made with care & presented perfectly. I highly recommend this place!
Update 24Jan2026: still highly recommend. Great spot in Laval.
I stumbled upon this bakery a few years ago, & I've been coming back every year since, always ordering either baklava or beinarein.
I love how the baklava is always fresh & not overly sweet. It has a lot of flavor. I'm not even going to try to name my favorites because honestly, I don't remember the names, I just recognize them visually. But overall, I've liked the majority of what I've tried.
If I had to make a suggestion, I'd say skip Adonis & come here for your baklava instead. I used to order from Adonis, but when I compare the two, Al Sham is so much better. The quality at Adonis just doesn't compare.
So if you're already on the hunt for baklava, just get it from here. You'll save yourself the trouble.
The Arabic sweets are okay, I'd give them 6 out of 10. The service was a bit slow, but the place is clean & the taste is fine. Prices are higher than what you get for the quality
Absolutely the Best Arabic Patisserie Around!
This place is a hidden gem for anyone who loves authentic Arabic sweets. The taste is truly traditional - just like what you'd find in the Middle East, & especially Syria. Every bite takes you back home. The textures, the flavors, the presentation - everything is perfect. Whether you're craving baklava, maamoul, or knafeh, you won't be disappointed. Highly recommended for anyone looking for real, high-quality Arabic-style desserts!
Absolutely incredible - fresh, flavourful, & made with such care! Every bite feels like heaven!!! The selection is amazing, & everything I've tried has been a hit. Highly recommend if you're looking for authentic, high-quality pastries! The service was amazing, always greeted with a smile:)
An exceptional place for authentic Middle Eastern sweets! The quality of the desserts is outstanding, with a luxurious & rich flavor in every bite. From the baklava to the kunafa, everything is perfectly made & fresh. The service is excellent - the staff is friendly, attentive, & ensures that your experience is memorable. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy premium oriental desserts!
