Love the poutine here with a good pour of IPA. What i tried was a breakfast poutine.
You will get perfectly fried thin fries ( though I prefer mine thick) with fresh cheese, it doesn't melt & taste really good. Even the gravy here is more runny than the gooey texture that you may see in most places. The combination of bacon & runny egg yolk is to die for !!!
Must try ! The staff is super friendly & we had a nice conversation even through busy service. Try to converse in French, they'd appreciate that alot !
Amazing poutine! They are very generous with the cheese & gravy & use fresh fries each time. The gravy is also vegetarian & they have a vegan tofu option which is great for my family members with dietary restrictions!!
Awesome fresh poutine. Also love the Mediterranean burger. it's a little hole in the wall, but you won regret it.
2020-They might have cheap or acceptable food, but they have very very bad & rude behaviour to us.
2026- I am updating my review after six years. We came back to give this place another try. Over the years, I had heard about this place & was hesitant to go there. Based on this experience, I would say the food was great - the fries were fresh, & the burger buns were unique & delicious. This time, again, we were asked whether we wanted a meal inside or outside. Luckily, it was midweek & not too busy, so we had a chance to sit by the window & received quite good service.
I understand that as staff & humans, you cannot always be perfect with your customers. Especially in a restaurant like this with a busy crowd, some days might be tougher than others. Maybe last time, they just had a bad day.
You might find yourself at this place, waiting in line, & be asked if you want to sit inside or outside. Once you decide, you might not be able to change your mind. Therefore, I give a thumbs up.
Amazing fresh food made in front of you in a hole in the wall. Great service, amazing staff, killer vibes, & delicious foods. Everything on the menu is great, burgers are the best, always affordable & filling. BEER ON TAP.
We came back after 7 years to give them another chance. Fortunately this time the food was delicious. Everything was very fresh especially the fries & protein. The bread was amazing burgers were tasty & it was the same guy, but he was pleasant & polite & we had a very good experience this time.
This was 7 years ago:
The guy was neither at all nice nor patient with the customers. The food was not so bad (not very good either) but I didn't like his attitude.
One of a hidden spot to get some real good poutine. Food came quickly & everything was made fresh. Staff were very friendly.
It was one of the best poutine I've ever tried.
Will highly recommend :)
2026: still awesome poutine & salad combo plate! Piled high! Nice & quick service.
2025: i loved that they have this plate with both poutine & salad, both were delicious & together it was just perfect, generous portions & fresh ingredients. service was friendly & quick.
Patati Patata: Situated gracefully at the nexus of Boul. St-Laurent & Rue Rachel, Patati Patata emerges as a luminous star within the constellation of local fast-food takeouts.
This haven of flavor offers a convenient location that effortlessly pairs with the accessibility of easy-to-find parking in the vicinity. The fusion of a convenient locale & hassle-free parking lays a foundation for a delicious experience.
While modest in size, Patati Patata embraces its petite charm, serving as a haven for those seeking a quick bite to savor on the go. The cozy interior, hosting a handful of seats, accommodates the essence of camaraderie that permeates this eatery. Despite the limited seating, the establishment gracefully juggles the bustling traffic of patrons with the presence of two capable employees.
A bilingual & warmly affable staff further elevates the experience, crafting an environment where every interaction leaves a mark of welcome & comfort. The menu, surprisingly extensive for its petite frame, is a culinary symphony that caters to various cravings & moments throughout the day, extending from hearty breakfasts to satisfying post-evening-out meals.
On the occasion of my visit, I indulged in their beef burgers. Topped generously with cheese & accompanied by golden fries, each item came at a remarkable price of $4.50. The toppings, a vibrant medley of freshness, contributed to a burst of flavors that danced harmoniously on the palate.
In the realm of culinary experiences, appearances can often be deceiving, & Patati Patata masterfully defies any preconceived notions. While the images of the fare may appear unassuming, the reality is far from it. This establishment crafts a burger experience that stands as a testament to value & quality, deserving of every ounce of praise. In Montreal's vibrant food scene, Patati Patata undoubtedly claims its crown as the reigning champion of the best burger for the price.
Regrettably, a minor challenge stands at the threshold of inclusivity, with a lack of ramp & a small step of about six inches at the entrance. Despite this, Patati Patata remains a beacon of culinary excellence, deserving of an unreserved five-star accolade.
Stopped by Patati Patata on a late-night whim, & honestly, we didn't know if we were about to have a life-changing snack or a soggy disappointment. The guy at the counter? Absolute legend. Chill, helpful, & somehow managed to explain the menu without making us feel like clueless tourists-bonus points for doing it fast enough that we could still get our kid back to bed on time.
Then we tried the poutine. My wife went classic, I went bacon. Even after the short trip back to the hotel, when they'd cooled down a bit, they were still incredible-we can only imagine how mind-blowing they must be fresh at the restaurant. The bacon leans salty (hello, flavor explosion), & the classic could use a pinch more salt… unless you're a purist, in which case it's perfect.
Pro tip: If you've been hypnotized by La Banquise hype online, break free & come here first. You'll thank us when you taste real Montreal poutine without the influencer line-up.
