We wanted to try this place out but were hesitant since it's not super big/toddler friendly. But it wasn't busy & our toddler was able to sit well & look out the window! The cheeseburger & poutine were delicious. Definitely will return :)
Cozy spot in the Mont-Royal Area. They have a few tables, but mostly a take-out spot. Poutine is delicious; their gravy is flavourful, fries are thin cut, & their cheese is squeaky. Depending on the hour it can get really busy, but staff are friendly!
LA MEILLEURE POUTINE. cheese squeak so loud i couldn't stop laughing. fries kept their crunch despite being doused in delicious gravy. god bless u patati patata
Finally tried Patati Patata after all these years on a busy Friday evening. It's next door to Bar Big in Japan. We lucked out & were able to grab seats at the counter. The inside is small with 12 seats. Workers were friendly & refilled waters.
- Blonde ($7.00 pint)
- Poutine classique ($11.00) - shareable between two. Decent but needed more gravy
- Filets de sole panés ($15.00) - fish was tender. Fries were serviceable, salad was bland
- Burger boeuf ($5.00) - bacon ($1.00) & cheese ($1.00). Basically a slider. Beef was salty
Patati Patata: Situated gracefully at the nexus of Boul. St-Laurent & Rue Rachel, Patati Patata emerges as a luminous star within the constellation of local fast-food takeouts.
This haven of flavor offers a convenient location that effortlessly pairs with the accessibility of easy-to-find parking in the vicinity. The fusion of a convenient locale & hassle-free parking lays a foundation for a delicious experience.
While modest in size, Patati Patata embraces its petite charm, serving as a haven for those seeking a quick bite to savor on the go. The cozy interior, hosting a handful of seats, accommodates the essence of camaraderie that permeates this eatery. Despite the limited seating, the establishment gracefully juggles the bustling traffic of patrons with the presence of two capable employees.
A bilingual & warmly affable staff further elevates the experience, crafting an environment where every interaction leaves a mark of welcome & comfort. The menu, surprisingly extensive for its petite frame, is a culinary symphony that caters to various cravings & moments throughout the day, extending from hearty breakfasts to satisfying post-evening-out meals.
On the occasion of my visit, I indulged in their beef burgers. Topped generously with cheese & accompanied by golden fries, each item came at a remarkable price of $4.50. The toppings, a vibrant medley of freshness, contributed to a burst of flavors that danced harmoniously on the palate.
In the realm of culinary experiences, appearances can often be deceiving, & Patati Patata masterfully defies any preconceived notions. While the images of the fare may appear unassuming, the reality is far from it. This establishment crafts a burger experience that stands as a testament to value & quality, deserving of every ounce of praise. In Montreal's vibrant food scene, Patati Patata undoubtedly claims its crown as the reigning champion of the best burger for the price.
Regrettably, a minor challenge stands at the threshold of inclusivity, with a lack of ramp & a small step of about six inches at the entrance. Despite this, Patati Patata remains a beacon of culinary excellence, deserving of an unreserved five-star accolade.
Genuinely the only poutine I've ever truly enjoyed!!! The cheese curds are soft, the graving isn't overwhelming &, somehow, the fries aren't soggy at all. The staff were super friendly too!
The restaurant is small, so it can get a bit chaotic & loud 😂 I'd recommend taking your poutine to go!
Amazing poutine! They are very generous with the cheese & gravy & use fresh fries each time. The gravy is also vegetarian & they have a vegan tofu option which is great for my family members with dietary restrictions!!
Definitely a must-visit establishment, of course for the food but also the vibes. Small place but great atmosphere. We went for a Patatine (poutine with cut raw veggies) & Grilled Cheese. Not a fan of Patatine as a concept (still wanted to give it a shot) but the poutine part of that was great. Grilled cheese was amazing. Would definitely visit again to try other things in the menu.
Staff was great, super friendly & chilled. Couple of tables & bar seating available inside but many folks just did a takeout.
Definitely recommended.
Had classic poutine, beef burger with cheese & bacon (extras), & a coke. Always loved their poutine, & it's still great. Burger was great as well. Good friendly service. Quick & easy turn around from ordering to meal as well.
Due to the size of establishment & its popularity, sometimes you might have to wait to get in if that's your plan. But it's worth.
Out of all the places I ate in Montreal, this was my FAVOURITE poutine. Squeaky curds, with perfect ratios of cheese to gravy to fries. The portion was generous, you get so much for what you pay. I was more than satisfied after eating here.
Service was super friendly & nice. I love the old school interior & being able to see the food made right in front of me. This location in particular is a MUST for poutine.
Their 5$ cheeseburgers are small but real good, get two! Really reliable.
Great food & service. & homey setting. We got the poutine classic, poutine with eggs & bacon, & grilled cheese with bacon.
Excellent hole in the wall eatery. Great poutine, thin crispy fries & just loaded with squeaky cheese. Pairs perfectly with the blond ale on tap. Looks like lots of local's & regulars eat here. There's 2 tables for 2 & 8 stools at the counter.
Lots of take out business & there was a line when I arrived. Service is speedy but very warm & welcoming.
Just had poutine but everything else looked & smelled amazing.
Hands down the best Poutine in Villeray.
Cheese 10/10
Sauce 9/10
Fries 10/10
The poutine was great - the squeakiest cheese curds I've had in Montreal! The French onion soup was also good, I generally find it too salty but the one here had a good balance of flavours.
I really can't say much about the famous Poutine, as I had the first one in my life here (it tasted pretty good!), but the burger (classic beef with bacon & cheese) was outstanding. Beers are fresh from the tab, service is really friendly, & the place surely has a vibe. It looks a bit rough at first, but catches you once you're sitting inside. Prices are more than fair - especially the burgers are perfectly reasonable. Overall a great place!
Patatine (poutine) is soooo good! It could be the best in Montreal. The raw veggie toppings make each bite of fries, gravy, & cheese taste that much better! I found myself craving for more.
My favorite spot in the city! The olive-based gravy, thin & slightly crunchy fries, & squeaky cheese curds make every bite a delight. I do wish they offered more portion sizes-sometimes I want just a bit more than the standard but not quite double! Nevertheless, the food, service, & portions live up to the hype!
For the poutine, cheese never melted, & was extremely salty . Hot dog was good but nothing out of this world.
