Review Summary

Reviews portray Pasticceria Alati-Caserta as a beloved Montreal staple for authentic Italian pastries, with cannoli, sfogliatelle, tiramisu and almond cakes repeatedly praised for crisp shells, creamy fillings and a broad, high-quality selection. Many describe the staff as friendly, attentive and helpful, adding that the bakery has a Naples-like charm and a welcoming atmosphere, though a few reports note occasional sour service or a day when staff seemed distracted. The cannoli emerge as a standout, often called the best in the city, along with other favorites like tiramisu, eclairs, marzipan cookies and lemon granita; some reviewers mention the pastry variety and freshness as consistently strong and the shop as a go-to for celebrations and gifts, including custom cakes. A minority express disappointment with specific items such as cornetti or zeppole, citing dryness, excessive sweetness or oiliness, and a few point to price, lines or inconsistent quality over time. Overall, Pasticceria Alati-Caserta is viewed as a must-visit destination for authentic Italian pastries in Montreal, balancing tradition and quality with occasional fluctuations in service or flavor.

Splendid, absolutely marvelous. One of the best places to get anything with ricotta, & to each order I like to also add some amaretti!! Great cannoli, too 🥰

The best traditional Italian pastry shop in little Italy & their Zeppolees traditional or backed along with all other pastries are to die for, the staff are very friendly & nice.
We love that place.

Not sure what's going on with Alati. We bought some traditional zeppole yesterday & the pastry was very dry, they didn't taste fresh at all. Maybe they made a few days in advance? Anyway, we was very disappointed

J'ai acheté des Zeppole & j'avai cru comprendre que c'était les meilleurs en ville. Il goûtait le vieux frigidaire & il était dur comme de la roche. Ne servez pas ça au clients svp :(

According to me, the best cannoli in town. Don't miss Zeppole season & go & grab some (my favorite was pistachio)

Did a zeppole crawl & it was my least favorite. Was expecting way better from an old school Italian institution.

You can't go wrong here... all the Italian favourites as well as other classics from your childhood. There is always a line, however it moves fast. If you have ADD or similar, I suggest you look at the showcase ahead of time, as it can be overwhelming.

The reaction I had by eating the Zeppole from here was Ohh Myyy God! The reaction my family had which one is the OMG.

Tucked in Little Italy, Alati-Caserta serves traditional Italian goodies.

No wonder this bakery has a huge clientele. The pastries are very good.

Straight up, the worst pastry of my life. The coda d'Aragosta was as crusty as the attitude of the woman behind the counter.
