We went yesterday to try Pasta Pooks out after seeing all the social media hype, & we can confirm that it's just that, hype. Quite expensive for the portion size whether it be the appetizers or the pasta. We ordered 2 appetizers (very tiny portions, 20$ minuscule strachiatela with veggies), 1 pasta, which was actually good, just quite small, & its pasta... which is very cheap, & still the portion served was disappointing.
The very small glass of wine was $17 dollars (plus tax) & we finished the night hungry, definitely it was more hype & snd did not live to our expectations.
It feels like they're trying to live off the hype, & not have any returning customers. 3 stars because the pasta was actually good.
You cannot justify those prices when the portions are minuscule, there's not even a nice view, or you're not in a highly touristy area.

Fine but not nearly what I was expecting. It's overhyped & overpriced in my opinion. Expensive, small portions, few options, mid service, & the pasta was definitely not mind blowing. Personally I would go elsewhere in the neighbourhood if you just want pasta & a glass of wine.

This is the pasta restaurant I've been dreaming of & that comes closest to the authentic homemade pasta that I had in Italy. We skipped the appetizers so that we could try all three of the daily pastas: spaghettoni al ragù d'anatra (thicker spaghetti with a ground duck sauce), casoncelli mantovani (pasta stuffed with squash & coated in a brown butter sage sauce), & ricotta gnocchis in a parmesan & pomodoro sauce (they were like little pillows!). Each pasta dish was cooked to perfection with the right texture & the right balance of flavours. I debated reordering the casoncelli mantovani but refrained since I was trying to be responsible!
We finished the meal with the tiramisu, which we agreed was the best we had ever eaten.
Beautiful wine selection & the service was also really great. The atmosphere in the restaurant was really vibrant, maybe a little too loud for our tastes but totally acceptable given the excellent experience overall. The prices were VERY reasonable for the quality of the meal. I can't wait to return.
Wonderful homemade pasta!
Pasta Pooks is a must stop for pasta lovers. Delicious antipasti to start, & daily incredible pasta dishes. My advice is to share orders of different pastas on the daily menu. Save room for dessert. Good wines & beers to choose from. You can eat in the bar anytime with the amazing Rosemonde making everyone feel welcome, or make a reservation for the dinning room. Come hungry & enjoy!YUMMY!
We dined here this evening. Although there was a wait, the staff was able to fit us in, which we appreciated. However, several aspects of the service were disappointing. We were not asked if we would like wine or cocktails. Additionally, the beef tartare appetizer we selected was also unavailable.
We noticed that everyone in the restaurant was offered dessert shots, while we were not. Considering that we ordered four appetizers, two main courses, & a dessert, we felt we had spent enough to be offered the same courtesy. While we don't believe we are entitled to complimentary shots, it was unclear why nearby tables received them & we did not.
The food itself was excellent, but the service left a lot to be desired.
Had the best time on the terrace this summer! The pasta was unreal, felt like fine dining but with that cozy, local vibe. Great wine list too. Definitely a spot I'd go back to :)
The pasta was amazing! The service was great, & they had some great wine recommendations. However, the terrace was filled with bees. I guess it's the time of year.
waited for a table about 10 mins for 2 around 9pm on a saturday night. pasta was so good & green salad, especially the dressing. ravioli melts in the mouth & the bolognese has a great flavour. awesome wine & kind service

Seriously, charging over $20 for a Bolognese & still serving clumpy powdered parmesan should be criminal. The ragù is overly acidic-likely from going overboard with the red wine-& the pasta falls apart easily when I lift it with a fork. By the time I finished, the plate was just scattered with broken bits. It feels like the pasta dough wasn't kneaded properly, way too hydrated, & lacking gluten development. Overall, the whole thing gives off more of a hobby project vibe than something ran by professional chefs.
Love an easy to grab pasta place & especially with fresh pasta. Would have been my type of place. The location was beautiful. Did not try their wine- & maybe that's where all the hype is about.
Unfortunately, i didn't really understand the hype, the plates are over 25$ each & the portions are very small. The chosen ingredients are simple & straightforward. The gnocchi pesto & pistachios, felt like they had no pistachio.
What an amazing restaurant ! Everything on the menu is delicious & by far the best pasta I've ever had ! & the staff is amazing ! Very friendly & the service is tip notch 👌🏽 amazing wine list as well ! I definitely recommend this to everyone, you won't be disappointed ! Than you to Martin, Ema & Luca for everything
