We tried for the first time & was amazed by the food quality. The salad dish was my favorite, so good & fresh. The Wagyu beef was melting delicious. The kebab was good but could be more grilled. The churros... good but I was a bit shocked when seeing the price 😄
The resto interior is big & has many long tables, great for groups. There's a terrace in front & also one in the back which is FCFS. Bref, we'd definitely come back to try other dishes.
Came here for drinks, stayed for all the delicious food. Loved the variety between appetizers & mains, & really loved that there's great vegetarian options for my girlfriend. Cocktails & wine list was a great hit too, already looking forward to come back.
P.S portions are pretty big, so we were very grateful for the waitress to give us the heads up (i was hungry with my eyes & almost over-ordered, oops!)
Nous avions lu dans les avis « meilleures côtelettes d'agneau à vie », he bien nous ne pouvons que seconder! Expérience WOW à tous points de vue! Nourriture, terrasse, & que dire du service! On y retourne assurément, ça fait longtemps que je ne suis pas ressortie aussi satisfaite d'une soirée au resto!
Terrasse: j'ai été obsédée par toutes ces figues en train de pousser, se retrouveront-elles dans l'assiette? 😃
Arrived in Montreal for the Jazz Festival,
Googled some spots, & luckily found Papito.
With no reservation, somehow we got a small place beside the bar -
the house was packed, 100% full, buzzing with life.
The menu? Nice & simple.
We ordered a few things, not expecting much -
until the food arrived.
My wife & I couldn't stop eating, couldn't stop salivating.
What flavors! Perfect execution.
The bread? The best I've ever had.
Duck Magret? They killed it - absolutely sublime.
Kafta, sausage, salad, potatoes -
every bite perfect, honest, unforgettable.
& the drinks!
As brilliant as the kitchen.
They served us amazing cocktails, crafted with love.
The whiskey sour was flawless,
but the Carrillo… oh my God,
I had three (I think).
Of course, none of this would be possible
without the incredible crew Papito has.
A round of applause for them! 👏
This is the kind of place
that makes every other restaurant feel average.
The food was delicious, no complaints there but it's a bit overpriced for what you get, especially the côte de boeuf. Our server was clearly inexperienced & could use some proper training. The atmosphere is nice, & the place looks great, but it gets really loud. If you're with a bigger group, it's tough to have a conversation. That said, the overall experience was still positive & I'd recommend it. just go in knowing what to expect.

Rares sont les restaurants qui dépassent mes attentes, mais celui-ci a réussi! Nourriture délicieuse, service attentif & ambiance animée sont au rendez-vous. Nous reviendrons sûrement!
I visited this restaurant for the first time & boy was it delicious! From the outside, it sees like a small, quaint restaurant, but it's actually quite large & spacious inside, with an industrial feel but cozy at the same time. They have a wonderful terrace at the back in the summer. We enjoyed a lovely meal with fresh vegetables & some delicious meats of the day. Their chimichurri to accompany the meats was such a scrumptious addition. Highly recommend this gem of a place!
We had a wonderful dinner at Papito! Our waiter, Juan, was very helpful with our decision making on what to order. They have menus in English, which made it easier for us to know some of the items. But Juan described each dish in detail & gave us history of the restaurant.
We ordered asparagus as a vegetable, Pork Sausage & Lamb Chops as our mains, & the charcoal potatoes as a side. We also ordered chimichurri sauce (highly recommend).
The ambiance was immaculate. This is a great place to have a romantic dinner or a gathering of friends/colleagues. Just be aware this is more of a family-style adventure. It's ideal if you can share plates (& the bill). There are a variety of seating areas (bar, tables, inside/outside).
Our meat choices were spectacular. The lamb was medium rare (fine, but we weren't given an option for temperature). The pork sausage had a cheese inside & that was fun. The chimichurri sauce elevated the flavors so well. It was bright, fresh, & added depth to the meal.
If you're reading this, GET THE POTATOES! Yes, there are muscles, yes, it has tomatoes, it also has chorizo, & all of that together sounds chaotic, but I promise you'll enjoy them.
We didn't order any drinks so I can't say anything about that.
Bon restaurant très bien situé, juste suffisamment à l'écart pour profiter de la tranquillité en pleine ville. Les produits frais & locaux sont sublimes (je vous recommande les légumes!!).
