Waitress ruined a good experience. We ordered a bunch of different skewers. They forgot to give us 2 mushrooms skewers which was fine. We let them know we didn't receive them when we asked for our bill. They refused to take it off & basically accused us of eating & forgetting. It's not even about the price because it was an extra $5 bucks on a bill of $170. It was the fact she thought we don't know what mushrooms look & taste like. Good food but lots of other similar options in Montreal with likely better service. Will not be returning.View more

Went with a group of six & were sat right away, however it took a while for the server to come & take our order. When he finally came by, we ordered food & he didn't suggest a larger portion size seeing as we were six people. Albeit, we could've asked for how much food to expect for what we ordered, but we didn't expect to have to wait 30 minutes for 4 skewers, & another 30 minutes for the server to check up on us so we could order more food. This trend repeated itself over & what could've been a quick hour & a half meal turned into 3 hours of waiting for the server to stop taking shots at the bar & see us, just for us to leave hungry. Really enjoyed this place the first time I visited. Came back about a year later (present day 2024) & I felt like the food didn't hit the same. Most of our skewers were quite bland & under seasoned, served just lukewarm & not hot. Our favourite bite we had were the smelts, where they were charred to a good level & had good flavors. Most of our skewers were low on the char level- I'm not sure if they grill it long enough? We also ordered the truffle karaage, which was also nothing much to write about. We went on a Friday night so I don't imagine it just being an "off" day for the kitchen. Not sure if I would give this place another chance in the future. I do appreciate the late hours of the Izakaya though. Service was okay, the lighting is a little dark & it gets quite loud. Washroom was passable. It's a single tiny stall.View more

Went to every single izakaya in the area, like Tempura Kyoudai & Biru Biru. This place blows them all out of the water. Skewers are reasonably priced, they know how to make a good chuhai (though I would ask for extra shochu on the side). Service is good, atmosphere is good. Reminds me of actual izakayas that I frequented in Japan. Kitchen closes at 1130 & last drink is at 1230.View more

Ordered a mix of Japanese yakitori skewers. Delicious but the best was the chicken skin! Would definitely go back. A good option if you re looking for a snack or something to go with a cold beer in a park. -- Update 2024 Went back for a proper sit down meal. Everything was still as good as the way I remembered the skewers were the stars of the night. So much choice for the skewers. still a definite must try in Montreal.View more

Went in on a Saturday night. Ordered the Saba Zuke, Kushi Yaki - premium set & the Bibimbap. Also a couple more items, but these were the main dishes. The food was delicious - except for the black angus skewer, it had a strange consistency & flavour. The staff was fun & friendly. The atmosphere gave good vibes. Overall a good experience. Not good, not bad. The Karaage & Brussel Sprouts were the star of the show, the "Black Angus" skewer was one of the worst pieces of meat we ever tried. Not acceptable for $8 per skewer. Service was pretty good though!View more

I think this place is ok but a bit overrated. Work recommend trying it out but its not going to blow your mind. Enjoyed the chicken, skewer things. The yakitori was great, & definitely a good drinking spot-seems very reserved after 7PM, but the dishes lack an oomph to actual Japanese food or Izakayas in Japan. The interior design is great though. The yakitori might've needed more sauce, only salt to taste on it, & the gyuudon sauce tastes a little too similar yakitori sauce. The lamb skewers were very good, not fatty compared to other shops here. Hot tea was just Oolong who like hot drinks btw.View more

Ordered a few skewers, chicken wings were soft... low lit lights didn't allow to see if the chicken was cooked or not. Ordered a set of Otto skewers. Again, we had the chicken wings, but this time round, we checked, & it was raw. Even though knowing the skewers were under & RAW. Paid for the meal. & the waitress was, instead of apologetic was upset we didn't tip. & had told them the food was raw. Raw chicken isn't a joke. Maybe have the chefs checked out to see if they know how to cook chicken properly or any other food items to avoid our food POISONING we had last night. customers shouldnt or need to require to tell you that food is raw especially when its was the 2nd time round of ordering. On top of that our 2nd order was forgotten. What an absolute joke. Don't be all sour because we didn't tip. Seek your manager or owner & deal with it umonsg yourselves. In this situation, the meal shouldn't even be charged. Have a little more professionalism & reflec on your customer service skills & health & food safety for customers who attend the restaurant.View more

Impeccable food, service & Japanese bar atmosphere! It was a recomendation to visit the resto & I do not regret! In the evening, it was full & many Asian-origin customers, which is a goid sign. It doesn't happen often these days to find a reasonable price- quality ratio place where people know what a tasty, flavourful food is. The menu is extensive! I really enjoyed tataki octopus & wasabi cold grilled macrel & grilled squid. Was not sure about the yakitori set - grilled & fried various parts of chicken on a skewer.
