If I could give more than five stars, I would. Origine Brass is the kind of place that redefines what a local microbrewery & restaurant can be. Stylish but warm, modern without losing its soul. It hums with that quiet confidence of a place that knows exactly who it is & what it's doing.
We started simple: wings & nachos. The wings were solid, crispy, well-seasoned, & paired perfectly with the first round of IPA. Not life-changing, but satisfying. The nachos were better than most, piled high with fresh toppings & cheese that actually stretches. Then came the pizza, & everything changed.
The Champignon Pizza was pure magic. I have eaten pizza across Europe & North America, from Naples to San Francisco, from small trattorias tucked into cobbled Italian alleys to wood-fired gems in Montréal & Portland. This one belongs in the top three of my life. The crust was impossibly thin yet chewy in all the right ways, blistered at the edges & soft at the core, with that subtle flavor that only comes from a dough that has been given time & care. The topping was loaded with wild, aromatic mushrooms, fresh herbs, & a drizzle of olive oil that tasted like the Mediterranean sun itself. Every bite offered a perfect balance of earthiness, salt, & heat. Only in small coastal villages of Italy have I tasted anything quite like it.
The beer list reads like a love letter to craft brewing. Bright, hoppy IPAs that sing, malty ambers that ground you, & a stout that feels like dessert without being heavy-handed. I was hoping for a sour, but none were on tap that day. It hardly mattered. Every pour was clean, balanced, & served at the perfect temperature.
Service was effortless & friendly, the kind that makes you feel like a regular by the end of the night. The staff seem genuinely proud of what they are serving, & they have every reason to be. The atmosphere ties it all together, a mix of industrial chic & soft lighting, with music & conversation blending just right.
I travel often for work, & food is one of the ways I get to know a place. Origine Brass tells a story of Montréal at its best: creative, confident, unpretentious, & rooted in quality. That pizza alone will stay with me for years. If you love good food & honest craftsmanship, this is the place.
Excellent beer! Good food. Nice find!
'Origine Brass' literally popped up on Maps at the last-minute of searching for supper...& really liked it.
Nice choice of beers to suit all palates.
Take the time to browse the menu & try some apps: Jerk Shrimp was tender & flavourful; jalapeno croquettes were a surprise with the fluffy potato filling.
Colleague had the chicken sandwich & it looked (& supposedly tasted) great. Lots of crunchy chicken with right amount of fillings.
Pizza (Pesto + Prosciutto) was a hit!
Okay now for the opportunity for improvement: we were there when they had a DJ minding the music. Way too loud! If not for the cool layout of the restaurant with high ceilings, we would not have been able to hear conversations. Other patrons'complained' but little change in volume.
Go eat & drink!
Good time & value for $$$.
We went on a Saturday night. The food, beer & service was great the music not so much. They had a live band & it was so loud you could not hear your own thoughts. It is ok to create an ambience with live music; it is not ok to have the music so laud that you feel your ears are being raped, I went to a restaurant not to a concert. Please next time lower the volume so your guest can talk to the other guest at the table.
The food, cocktails, beer, & service were impeccable. The live music was also great, not too loud so you can still have a conversation. Love this place!
Nice place with live music. Very friendly staff. Food was average though; served very cold.
Great place for a small or large group gathering. They have live music on Saturday nights & the band was good. Excellent food, lots of good beers to choose from & an all around great atmosphere.
Decent resto choices are limited on the West Island but the food here is delicious. Pizza = fantastic!!! Service was okay. I would give this resto 5 stars but what is up with blasting the music? I have been here three times already but the last time was for lunch with work colleagues, loud music even at lunch? I love music but I don't get it...Anyway, I will keep trying only for my love if pizza :)
Very good service, live music was good, lovely ambiance. Pizza was very good, but sauce was just a little too sweet. Drinks very good. Recommend!
Excellent service by Justin! We were there for a birthday dinner. The food was excellent. Had the pizza. DELICIOUS! Good meal portions all around. Great beer. Lucked out with being there when they had live music. Would definitely return!
April 2024: came here for a birthday party. Excellent service, very efficient. Dealt with a large walk in table with care even though we were there a while. Handled a food quality issue very professionally. Great music, pretty place, even better than last time. The gin cocktails are super well decorated but are just okay in terms of flavour. The artichoke & goat cheese pizza was good, would have been nice if they had the option to add chicken to it. Tater tots were a pleasant surprise on the menu but not a big fan of the feta sauce. Salmon tartare tasted off, not like gone bad or anything but just really not great seasoning & preparation & I usually love this item at other places; it does come with a very decent Caesar salad which isn't mentioned on the menu. A latte was a great way to finish off. June 2023: Olives & Beignets were good. Steak was not available. Mains were good except the pork roast was dry. Service started off really well but dropped off after the main came. Good music, decent space.
Good pizza but nothing crazy, personally was not a fan of artichoke & goat cheese pizza but some will definitely love it. Atmosphere was pleasant with a live bad & music playing afterwards. Decor is lovely & cosy. Beer sangria was very good i definitely recommend it.
A Saturday night out with friends & family! A hidden gem in the West Island of Montreal. A local brewery with famous beers. Don't be discouraged with the outside (looks like a warehouse), the inside has a very tasty look. The stuff is very friendly & efficient. I tried the taste of 4 different kinds of beer & the Botanik is a winner. Quality to price ratio of the food is very high. Try the burger with the loaded fries! Only 4 stars since the music & band were extremely loud, tough to have conversations! Overall, a great experience.

The live acoustic music & ambience one of those hidden gems that you must try!
Food was really good pizza the loaded fires 👌 is a must
The in house 🍺 excellent!

We were seated too close to the live music, it was difficult to enjoy our conversation. The volume of the music was loud for the size of the space

Our server Justin was on the ball, in both English & French, for our group of ten! Great service & friendliness. Hockey game on the big screen & great live music.

We were 11 adults & 1 baby. Everyone was comfortable, the food & beveragea were great & the music with Caleb Taylor was amaizing. It was a great night had by all from 88 to 2mos old.

Music was a little too loud, but other than that it was great! Very lovely place.

First time visiting tour establishment. Will definitely be back. Was great to hear some live music😊
