sort of expensive when you go on à la carte days; I wish I had known which days were all you can eat. always delicious though! they have a great new selection of vegan sushi since they became oplante. the reservation through the website was easy & efficient. quick service, very enjoyable.View more

First time trying O Plante. We tried the buffet option (they also have à-la-carte options). I love trying a bunch of things & I thought it was worth the price.
Compared to other all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants, I find the rolls that came in 4 rolls were smaller but I loved that I wasn't so stuffed afterwards & got to try so many options.
Everything we tried was delicious! Will definitely be back!View more

We went in about 7:30 pm. Ground floor large spacious well-lit heavy hardwood natural wood coloured sturdy tables. Food served in small, white ceramic dishes.
Ordering us fone in phone via menu items that appear with photo of the QR code.
I ordered chicken brochettes. Beef & broccoli, sweet potato fries, peanut dumplings. All were delicious, & prepared well, to order.
Indeed I over ordered. I was amazed to see seven dishes beyond what I could possibly eat. & didn't realize how many dishes I was over, as it's small on the phone & hard to see quantities perctap.
Alexandra was very accommodating & brought me two extra take out boxes...On the house instead of the usual $15 each.
It was an interesting taste & service experience.
Good memories, though a bit pricey if you're not hungry. It's a flat $35 +taxes, tip on top. Desserts all extra.View more

Oplante never disappoints-hands down the best vegan sushi in Montreal! Their rolls are super creative, fresh, & packed with flavor. Whether it's a quick lunch or a cozy dinner, everything always hits the spot.

Plus, they often have great deals on Uber Eats, which makes it even better. A go-to spot for plant-based sushi lovers!View more

This was a real disappointment. I was very excited to try an all you can eat restaurant, but what a disappointment. Unfortunately, I won't be back & cannot recommend.

FOOD
All the food that is meant to be served hot was cold or room temp. We ordered two rounds & it was the same for both. Additionally, i ordered a spicy salmon sushi & it was not spicy at all. My boyfriend said the mock chicken tao was aweful. A lot of the items had too much sauce. The sushi were very average, not sure why some comments say they are the best sushi in town. Sushi momo, ohana & bloom are so much better, it doesn't even compare. The only thing I liked was the sauteed veggies even if they were room temp. I hope we don't get sick. Not sure if food has been sitting out or was not reheated properly.

TERRIBLE MENU
The menu was scanned, which is fine, but there was no description of the foods, just names. Therefore, when it came to sushi, you had no idea what was in it. Additionally, some items were marked SG which I assume means sans gluten (gluten-free in English), but the item would be marked gluten-free in the english menu, but not french menu. Plus, I asked the waitress if it meant gluten-free, & she had no idea what it meant

GLUTEN-FREE OPTIONS VERY LIMITED
We were 5 & I was the only gluten-free free one. I had called to see about the options, & she did mention it was limited, but some things are possible. When we got there & I scanned the menu, & since it was unclear what I could eat, I asked the waitress to tell me what's gluten-free. She mentioned that all sushi could be made without tempura to make them gluten-free, but that in the wok items, the only thing was sauteed veggies. I kept asking her to verify for other items marked SG & turns out some were gluten-free & others not. So we order & then she comes back to inform me that 3 of the sushis are not gluten-free afterall which were all the most interesting ones. I new my options wouldn't be awesome. But I still went for the rest of the group, but honestly it's not a good choice for gluten-free.

SERVICE
The service was quick which was nice. There was a robot bringing the plates which was funny for my daughter, but the robot did make a lot of noise on the tile floor. The waitress were not knowledgeable on the menu for gluten-free & kept needing to ask & didn't seem confident. They were polite though & quick to come when we signaled. We had to find & get the high chair ourselves. The booster was broken. Waitresses never proposed it.

ENVIRONMENT/AMBIANCE
Not the best, it felt quite cheap. Lacked decor. Cheap chairs, no place to hang coats. Plastic water jugs. Plastic soy sauce plates. Wooden disposable chopsticks & not cutlery. Had to go get forks ourselves. The one nice thing was that it was spaceous.

PRICE/PAYMENT
It was 37$ for all you can eat. Obviously, all you can eat is never the best ingredients. A lot of fried food, rice, & noodles to stuff you. I think the price is ok if it had better food. We have the mon quebec vegane card for discounts & when I asked her if they participated she said she didn't know. I looked it up & found the 10% discount & showed my card. She then applied it, but again lack of knowledge.View more

Hi all, I just want to advise everyone that while the restaurant has a decent atmosphere & the vegetarian sushi are good, the price is now not only $35 for a vegetarian sushi buffet but 2 items or on the menu (& sometimes more) & now always out of stock & have not been restocked the many times we have come to eat at the restaurant in the last couple of months, making the overall meal now seemingly more expensive. For example, Lemon Fish is on the menu but has been greyed out & we are always told it has been sold out even though we came once a month. Basic appetizer as simple as spring rolls are now always out of stock even though we were the first wave of customers for the evening... (we were the first sitting of diners coming to have supper at the restaurant for the night). For the price of $35, there is no drinks (not even fountain soft drinks) included & no desserts included in the buffet menu. & worst of all The entire restaurant with over 50 customers (the restaurant being basically full house) is served by a platter-bringing robot on wheels & a waitress who is also a cashier for the night? How do you feel about having a reservation & having to wait 15 minutes lined up at the front to be seated? or having to go & get your own dishes, cutlery, napkins, dishes, or even get your own pitcher of water because it is just so slow? or how about your orders have been marked as served but you had orders of food missing? This is what happened in our last visit. So it appears while the price stays the same, there are choices of food taken out (or permanently sold out) compared to the restaurant buffet menu of a year ago or even a few months ago... If you accept all the downsides above, it is otherwise still a good restaurant to go... the food is decent, for a vegetarian buffet... but for the price range of $30 something dollars, there may be better non-vegetarian buffet choices out there in Montreal...since the service during the last visit is poor to nonexistent.View more

Update Oct 2024 The only issue with OPLANTE "all you can eat" is the dessert. There is a single option, & ice cream even not included (as it's not began, per what they say). Personally I don't even like the look of the dessert (see picture). Other than that, the dishes are generous, the service is fine, & the robot is still with them. While at your table - scanning the menu to your phone, & you're good to go. Price of $35 for dinner is OK. --- Even though all item are vegan, you can't really tell the difference. Everything is like the real thing, & is tasty. Service is OK. The gimmick is a robot which brings over some of the dishes from the kitchen to the center of the restaurant (not to the tables). Some dishes, like the soup are not brought by the robot. I think that the robot name is Bella, since when sent it back to the kitchen, its caption says "Bella go home". The two things which make my visit les optimal are: 1) the desserts. Only one item! I find this unacceptable for an all your can eat menu. When I asked about it, they offer me an ice cream as well. When I order it, they told me that they no more have it. This made my first impression a bad one. 2) Somewhat pricy. There are no lunch hour, so you must pay for a dinner, which is around $35, before taxes. They are not open daily. When they do it opened at 4:30 PM. 3) They does not seem to care about responding to emails & reviews.View more

Amazing Vegan food available! Wish there is one in the south shore! Just that it is not too easy to park around there! All the food is great! Love the broccoli with beef, sushi 🍣 , rolls, the veggie tempura, fried Japanese style tofu are great. Our family visit quite a few times a year. Recommended if you want to eat & stay healthy! The photos are part of the food we had enjoyed the other night.View more

View more

The food was unique..considering everything was vegan! Sushi were really good!! But most of the other things were deep fried & sweet & all of them had the same taste - probably the same gravy! We had buffet. The server had mentioned that kids below 12 eat for free in a Buffett, butcher still billed us for the kids! I feel cheated :(!!View more

Loved it! Montreal has several great high-end vegan sushi restaurants with creative concepts. What I liked about O'Plante is the laid-back vibe, roomy seating for large family groups & all-you-can eat menu with more traditional flavours. Don't expect fancy fusion dishes or fine dining: O-Plante serves comfort food. We ordered our food from our phones, through an online menu. The food arrived quickly, in waves. We weren't rushed like at other places where they kick you out after 2 hours, so we had plenty of time to relax & chat. We tried close to 20 dishes which were all the perfect size for sharing & all very tasty. We wouldn't have had so much variety if we had ordered à la carte. There's even a cat robot that carries food trays to the dining room. It gave me a good chuckle. It would have been nice if there were dessert options, but to be honest we were so full that we probably wouldn't have been able to have another bite. I would definitely come back here!View more

Unfortunately I must say this was the worst restaurant service experience I have ever had. We came for all-you-can-eat menu, & ordered as instructed on the online system, & then waited over 2 hours with only a few of the items arriving, & the rest never coming. The server then couldn't figure out what we had even ordered, & asked us if we could estimate how many things we had received. Then we tried to pay with a gift card bought on the website earlier that same day, & were told (after waiting more) that we could not pay with the gift card at all. All told, we arrived at the restaurant at 18h15, & left at 20h40, hungry, not able to pay using the gift card bought from the restaurant's website, being charged for more food than we ate. Will not return.

The service was excellent

The food was delicious however the experience was not. We had an 8pm reservation & we were told right away not to order all you can eat because the kitchen was closing. Our drinks came long after the food. The food is really great & inventive but by 915 we were asked to leave because the kitchen wanted to leave. The waitress was charming & lovely but the overall experience was highly unpleasant. I want to encourage vegan restaurants but this one needs to stop taking reservations at 715 if you are kicked out on the street by 9.
We also really wanted to be served by the robot but we were told he was put to bed by the time our table got the food. The 3 star is only because the food was amazing but do not dine there as an experience

The food is always good, dishes & sushi are really good. But it's the second time i have this problem there for all you can eat. The orders i place comes always missing a lot of stuff in them! We were only 2 people & i had to order 5 times because every time there was stuff missing. The service & the girls are super sweet & fast but the kitchen is so slow! Doesn't make me want to come back or refer other people for vegan sushi.

Délicieux ; pleins d'options véganes à s'y méprendre, vraiment un super concept. Prenez le all you can eat, ça vaut tellement la peine.
