Before tonight, I would have given Neotokyo five stars easily. Over the last year, it has been one of my favorite spots to treat myself, & the steak mazemen has been one of my ultimate comfort foods. Tonight I went in to be told that it has been taken off the menu, along with several other popular dishes. The printed menu still LISTS all these dishes, mind, but the very apologetic waiter informed me they're not actually available to order anymore. I would think something that isn't broke doesn't require fixing, but apparently the owner doesn't share this view, & it's a shame, because I don't think I will be coming back to Neotokyo if everything I liked is no longer available to me. The ambiance is cool, the waitstaff is WONDERFUL, but it can't give me what I want out of my dining experience, so, unfortunately I will have to find somewhere else to get my mazemen fix.Voir plus

Was looking for a cool & cute restaurant to go while in Montreal & found this one on tiktok ! I got the goma miso mazemen & it was super tasty ! They have some vegetarain options which is always something to appreciate. The food is a little bit pricey for a student, but the quality definitely makes it worth it. I have a lot of allergies, so it's always stressful to go to a new restaurant, especially abroad. The server was so patient & kindly went over the WHOLE menu for us. We had the Karaage, Takoyaki "nachos" & Tonkotsu. The Tonkotsu arrived to the table about 5 minutes before the appetizers which was a little strange, but everything was served within ten - fifteen minutes of ordering. The Tonkotsu was very flavorful, maybe slightly too salty, but still very enjoyable. The noodles & the egg were done perfectly! Noodles had a soft & chewy texture, egg was soft boiled to perfection, & the creamy broth coated everything nicely. The meat could have been more tender & flavourful, but it wasn't bad by any means. Next came the Takoyaki "nachos". I'm a big fan of Takoyaki, we asked if we could get it traditional, without the "nacho" part, but we were told it's not possible. It's 4 pieces in total, fried with Dorito crumbs, covered in sauce, sliced fresh jalapeno, & bonito flakes. I usually love bonito flakes, but these ones were SO smoky & overpowering that I couldn't taste the Takoyaki or the sauce. Seriously unpleasant in my opinion, I felt like I ate a spoonful of liquid smoke. The Karaage was good, well battered & very tender, served with an interesting aoli, however, still not what I was hoping for. (If you love Karaage, check it out at Gyu Kaku. *Chefs kiss*). The atmosphere was great, we loved the lighting & decor, & the service was friendly but if I'm being honest, the best part of the meal was who I ate it with. Overall, I'm glad we tried it, but wouldn't go back.Voir plus

The Neotokyo Mazesoba is excellent. Very tasty, & nice combination of textures & flavours. Highly recommended. The tonkotsu ramen is just alright. The broth was a bit bland, so I don't recommend that dish. Drinks were hit & miss. The H2O is refreshing, but the lemon overpowers the other ingredients. The Vista Del Rey is super good if you like minty flavours, but the portion size is way too small. Overall, the drinks aren't good value. I suggest drinking before or after going here, or just ordering a beer if you must. The decor is fun, staff was attentive. Space fills up fast. Not sure I'll return, as the overall value is just alright.Voir plus
The neotokyo extra was tasty. Noodles very fresh. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant. The miso ramen was a bit too salty for my taste & the portions were a bit small, which is why 4 stars instead of 5. Would still come back though!Voir plus
Great location, the atmosphere is unique & the attention to details makes you feel in Japan. The food arrives really fast & really hot ! They have a good variety of ramen & appetizers, can't go wrong ! Good value for money ! Will definitely comeback to try different items on the menu !Voir plus

Tout à été plus qu'à la hauteur de nos attentes. Parfait pour les ados. N'hésitez pas à prendre plusieurs plats & partager. Ça en vaut la peine. Le décor est pour beaucoup dans l'ambiance. Nous avions eu une mauvaise expérience la première fois que nous étions venues, mais je peux dire que les problèmes inhérents parfois à l'ouverture d'une structure ont été bel & bien réglés. Les plats étaient divins, le gérant Will super gentil, pro, attentionné & compétent. La salade de concombre, les ramens, les cocktails, le sorbet, wow. Tout était délicieux. J'ai hâte de revenir. J'y pense même souvent 😋 Merci Yann de nous avoir invité à revenir gracieusement pour réparer la première fois qui s'était mal passée. Super belle gestion du service à la clientèle.
