Monteiro is described as a casual, affordable spot offering flavorful juicy chicken with a crisp exterior and a range of well seasoned sauces, including a spicy piri piri option, along with generous bowls and poutines that many reviewers rate among the best in Montreal. The menu is praised for simple efficient Portuguese inspired fare, quick service, and a welcoming atmosphere with ample seating; the staff are repeatedly noted for warmth and friendliness, making the experience feel approachable for non French speakers. Value for money is a common theme, with substantial portions and reasonable prices, and many readers mention returning regularly. There are a few critiques, such as one dish where the rice was a bit dry or occasional concerns about wait times, and at least one comment about hygiene practices, but the overall tone is highly positive with stories of tasty meals, consistent quality, and a reliable quick option for lunch or takeout, including the Monteiro sandwich and piri piri bowls.
Whose idea was it to serve their 1/2 chicken in a bowl? Salad was buried underneath the hot chicken. Soggy salad. Messy eating experience trying to access the rice & fries buried underneath the chicken. Disappointing experience today eating my favourite Portuguese chicken.
J'ai déjà mangé sur place, & aujourd'hui j'ai commandé via uber eats, c'etait très très bon!! Je ne pouvais la noter sur l'application. Pour moi un 5/5 bien mérité, bravo!!
