My husband & I had dinner at Monarque this past weekend, & it was one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time.
From the moment we arrived, everything was exceptional-the food, the service, & the atmosphere were all absolutely top-notch.
The standout dish for me was the potato gratin. It was truly out of this world & one of the most delicious things I've eaten at a restaurant that I can remember. It's a dish I'll be thinking about for a while! The Tomatoes from Our Garden were also incredible-fresh, vibrant, & beautifully prepared.
Every aspect of our meal exceeded our expectations, & the attentive, professional service made the experience even more enjoyable. We highly recommend Monarque to anyone visiting Old Montreal or looking for an outstanding meal. We can't wait to come back!
Monarque is the new benchmark for fine dining in Montreal. Every detail feels considered, from the service to the presentation, & the food delivers on all fronts. A memorable experience worth the occasion, whether it's a special night out or just treating yourself to something exceptional. Highly recommend. The new benchmark in fine dining in montreal
Solid 4 stars resteraunt. Food is good & wine list is extensive. Service is good but the resteraunt can be very busy. Highly recommend to make reservation ahead of time. We have a group of 7 & we got seated in front of the kitchen. Good atmosphere & everyone like the food.

My first taste of the bouillabaisse broth was amazing! Then everything else in the dish was perfectly tender & delicious. My husband's steak frites was done to perfection. We felt welcomed & at home from start to finish. Best crème brûlée ever! Highly recommended!
I love this restaurant from ambience, service to food. My table was served by 4-5 waiters/ waitress. A gentleman served water, another one served us wine, they let me taste my wine to make sure I'm satisfied with my choice before serving it! I picked Vin de Franz, white wine as I had seafood bouillabaisse for main course. We had a bone marrow & French snails cooked with red wine for appetizer, it was excellent. The bouillabaisse was amazing too! I will definitely come back for duck confit & lamb shoulder. Really highly recommended!
Had a wonderful experience our first night dining at in Montreal at the Monarque. Our waiter was fabulous he was very welcoming & kind, explaining the menu & drinks in English to us. We had the halibut special & chicken. Both were cooked to perfection & normally we do not ever clean our plates, but tonight we did. We also had dessert, which again was delicious. Their drinks were also excellent, the Monarque & the Caravane, the Monarque was more savory. We were tempted to order the bone marrow but the couple next to us were devouring theirs & it was a large portion & we didnt think we would be able to eat everything. So we will try that in our next visit. We dined early around 5 with no wait, but by 6pm if was almost full. I would highly recommend dining here.
Great first experience dining at Monarque after hearing so many good things about it. Did not disappoint. The interior was classy & the service was excellent. We especially enjoyed the fois gras & the lamb. Highly recommend if you're looking for great French cuisine in Montreal!
A lively spot for dinner with all the French classics. A little something for everyone. My boyfriend wanted to have a steak & I wanted something other than a steak. Did not disappoint. We had the most tender grilled octopus here (melt on your mouth), crispy cod fritters, striploin & fries with a side of sauteed mushrooms, duck confit & finished off the evening with an eclair. I would come back here just to devour a plate of their fries. Crispy on the outside, creamy & soft on the inside & bursting of potato flavor. They have a fantastic wine list also. Highly recommend the Hidalgo Albert Fina (red wine).
