La cuisine française bistrot est régulièrement louée pour sa fraîcheur et ses saveurs, avec des plats phares comme le confit de canard, les côtelettes d'agneau et le risotto aux champignons, servis en portions généreuses et bien présentés. Le cadre est élégant et vivant, adapté aussi bien aux dîners romantiques qu'aux repas entre amis, et la carte des vins et les cocktails complètent l experience. Amazing brunch spot! We have gone a few times over the years, & we always have a great experience. The live music at brunch is amazing. Recently, my wife & I went in the morning of our anniversary, & Lorenzo made an extraordinary effort to make the experience wonderful. I fully recommend Modavie!
This used to be my absolute favourite place to go in Montreal. While the vegetarian options (other than salad) were not that great, they would still accommodate me with their pasta plate. The ambience & live jazz made each experience memorable. However, something has changed in the last few years. There wasn't really anything I could enjoy as a vegetarian other than salads. Really guys, being a vegetarian doesn't mean I like to chew leaves like a cow. Something delicious & warm cooked for those of us that aren't carnivores, would really start to return this restaurant to being one of the top places I would recommend in Montreal.
I had a wonderful dining experience! The food was great, & our server, George, truly made the evening memorable with his amazing hospitality & friendliness. Additionally, the crème brûlée was the best I've ever tasted. Highly recommend!
Went to this restaurant several times for dinner or lunch & all was great! Caring staff, delicious meal, & live jazz band! Highly recommended! Just in case you look for a calmer spot & becasue band plays at first floor, better to book your table at second floor.
Grand Restaurant avec beaucoup de places, la musique est forte dans une piece & beaucoup plus calme dans un autre. Les plats sont bien presentes, bons, des specialites françaises comme la creme brulee & les escargots. Je recommanderai Le tartare de boeuf & la creme brulee valent le detou
I came here with my wife & two daughters (7 & 9) for dinner on a cold February evening. Our hotel had recommended this place. Lorenzo completely hooked us up with one of the best tables in the house, right in front of the live jazz band, it was perfect. The waitstaff was attentive & the food excellent. We liked the steak dishes & lamb chops. Thank you to Lorenzo & the staff for a memorable evening on our family vacation to Montreal. We will be back.

I recently experienced brunch at Modavie, & it was an absolute delight. The service was exceptional, with attentive & friendly staff ensuring that every aspect of our dining experience was perfect. The restaurant itself exuded class & beauty, providing a charming ambiance that added to the overall enjoyment of the meal. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed & well taken care of. Modavie truly excels in offering a memorable brunch experience, & I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a combination of excellent service & elegant surroundings.
We were recommended to go here by our hotel because we wanted to listen to live music. We were far from disappointed. We came for brunch & Lorenzo made us feel at home the moment we arrived & the music really set the tone. To top it off the food is delicious & we couldn't wait to come back to try dinner. We came back again that evening & we were served by George who created a seamless experience for us & our two young kids. We appreciated his wine suggestions & once again the food was so delicious. This restaurant really was the highlight of our trip, if you're looking for a cool vibe with live music, delicious food & great staff this is your place ! Nicole
The food is spectacular. We had bone marrow, escargot, lamb chops & a lamb pasta. Everything was seasoned & cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the restaurant which is located in the middle of everything.
First night ever in Montreal & as luck would have it we stumbled into this great place! George, our server, was awesome! He took great care of us & happily attended to all our needs. He even hand wrote a list of places to see while in Montreal. Hubert, the bartender was also awesome! He also took great care of us! A great conversationalist who made great drinks! He also wrote down some places to go to. The manager, I believe her name was Jane, was great. I cannot recommend this place enough! Oh, & by the way, the food was great!
The rack of lamb was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend it to anyone going here. The staff was friendly & accommodating. The waiter was kind enough to heed our odd request to split the bill across 4 credit cards. I never felt like we were waiting for the staff. They just magically appeared the moment we were just thinking about needing them. Not intrusive, excellent timing.
Lovely atmosphere & great live music & service both upstairs & downstairs.
The food was mediocre, especially for the price. I would recommend going here for drinks & a appetizer to enjoy the jazz.
After the Kurios show, we went to Modavie around 8PM. We had the reservation but the hottest (It was a mid-age man)did not say hello or smile when we walked in at the door & the restaurant was not busy. He asked for how many peoples, then we waited for another young girl with full of smiles & nice person. She took us upstair, service was good & the food was good.
We would recommend the mid-age man should work in the kitchen instead at the front & I think he is a manager. About time to change the manager.
I don't often get to dine in Old Port, so when my friends & I decided to catch up & get together here, I was excited to try out a new restaurant. We went in a little past lunch time, & there weren't many people except about 2 other tables, which I didn't mind. We were seated right away. The waitress was nice & served our requests in a timely manner. The food was quite delicious & the view from our window was lovely. Overall a good restaurant to go to, & great that it's located in old port. I would recommend this place to a friend & visit again some time in the future.
Super belle place, le live band était tres bien. Je ne sais pas si c'est parce qu'il manquait de staff mais le service était extrêmement lent, ça prenait au moins 15-20 min à la serveuse à nous apportez un verre. L'entrée d'escargot à la crème fraîche était qu'en fait 4- 5 petits escargots dans un feuilleté ou on y trouvait à peine de crème. A première vue, le tartare de boeuf m'avait l'air que du boeuf cru sans aucun assaisonement, apres y avoir goûté, il ne goutait absolument rien & était servi avec une salade sans vinaigrette. J'ai exprimé mon mécontentement à la serveuse, on a payé nos verres & l'entrée d'escargots sans manger notre plat principal. Cet endroit est une trappe à touriste d'après moi. Je ne recommande pas cet endroit du tout.
