Modavie est un lieu intemporel qui nous rappelle nos racines, où dames & messieurs se réunissent pour manger dans une atmosphère animée causée par de bonnes conversations, de la musique live et les parfums boisés d’une salle vintage. Né en 1997, il est rapidement devenu populaire parmi les locaux et les visiteurs, et est maintenant considéré comme une institution montréalaise.
Régalez-vous avec une cuisine française raffinée dans un espace antique et tamisé sur deux étages. Du classique tartare de bœuf, au savoureux ris de veau, en passant par la fameuse ratatouille, vos envies seront facilement rassasiées.

Everything about this place was spot on. The food was outstanding, & the ambiance made the experience truly memorable. The staff were warm, attentive, & genuinely welcoming, which took the service to another level. If you're craving genuine French cuisine, this is absolutely the place to go.

Modavie is a must when visiting Montreal. As soon as we got sat the atmosphere was there & it was high, our server Iman specifically made sure that our experience there is the best. She recommended the lamb chops which was amazing. We also had the filet mignon. Overall, everything was so good, even better than a Michelin Star Restaurant, trust us we ate at one just a couple days before!

Je suis retournée au Modavie pour une 4e fois, cette fois-ci dans le cadre de Montréal à table. Comme d'habitude, très bon service, belle qualité de nourriture & belle ambiance avec la musique live. C'était ma première fois au 2e étage. Je préfère l'ambiance du premier étage, mais le 2e était très bien aussi. J'y ai été dans différents contextes: en amoureux, entre amis, en famille & avec des collègues de travail. Vraiment un bel endroit pour toutes les occasions.

L'ambiance est sympa, carte restreinte mais avec suffisamment de choix pour y trouver son compte. Le seul bémol concerne le peu d'espace entre chaque table, on entend tout ce que les gens disent & on doit parler vraiment fort pour s'entendre…

Delicious food, wonderful ambiance, & lively entertainment. The restaurant was accommodating even though we arrived without reservations. They provided a reasonable time frame for a table, recommendations for a nearby bar, & had everything set for our return.

Went on Sunday for the jazz brunch. I had the salade Nicoise & my wife the eggs Benedict with lamb. Great atmosphere, food & music by a cool 3 piece combo.

This is the 2nd time I come to this place & this time was with the boys. This place is a vibe, at the heart of old Montreal. It's quite spacious, & seats a lot of people. The live band is appreciated. The first time we came, the food was below our expectations for the price. Few years later, I would say it's the same. The food was still mediocre, & could honestly be more. There's no wow factor, the food does not stand out sadly. We had quite a few appetizers & I had the lamb. The first time we had the duck confit, it was just ok as well. However, the atmosphere & service were on point.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Modavie in Old Montreal, & it was truly an experience to remember. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm, attentive service & the smooth sounds of live jazz filling the space, we ordered the Salmon Tatar, Caesar salad, the duck confit & rack of lamb, & every dishes were absolutely exceptional. The duck was rich & tender, with perfectly crispy skin , crunchy almonds & a beautifully balanced sauce that brought everything together. The rack of lamb was equally impressive - cooked to a perfect medium rare, juicy & full of flavor, with a herb crust that added just the right touch. We had the crème brûlée & tasted really nice! Modavie is a fantastic spot for a special night out - whether you're a local or just visiting Montreal like us, I'd highly recommend it. Great food, great service, & a unique atmosphere that brings everything together. We accidentally forgot & left our credit card on the table as we left Canada to New York. The staff called us & let us know about it. We really appreciated your honesty. That means a lot thank you so much!!!

We had a lovely dinner at this charming French restaurant. We ordered the house salad, onion soup, & rack of lamb. Everything was delicious & beautifully presented. The lamb was a bit more cooked than I would have preferred, but it was still flavorful.
Service was friendly & attentive. We were seated in the room next to the live music, which was perfect - we could enjoy the ambiance while still having an easy conversation. Overall, a wonderful dining experience that I'd happily recommend.

Went to Modavie on a Wednesday night & it was packed. I loved the whole experience. From the food, to entertainment, to the service, it was amazing. I ordered lamb chops & they were delicious.
I also had cold crème brûlée for dessert & wanted to order more. Finally I had tea to digest.
Our server's name was William & was remarkable, quick, efficient, polite.
There was also a jazz band that made the whole experience much more enjoyable. I will definitely come back!

What a lovely spot. The food is excellent - the best mussels & broth I've had in my life! Cocktails are clean & delicious. Ambiance & timeless decor make this a lovely spot for lunch, cocktails, or dinner. Will absolutely be back to explore the menu more!

Food was excellent. The lamb cavatelli was excellent & so was the steak frites. The service was beyond belief. Rarely do we go to any restuarant with actual professional wait staff. Tyler was impeccable, aware, attentive, but not bothersome or rushing the experience. Hope the establishment treasures him! A perfect special dinner out on our Montreal mini vacation.

A very nice atmosphere but middling food & very slow service. The french onion soup was just okay (a bit salty & lacking in wine flavor) & while the lamb cavatelli & mushroom risotto were delicious, the lamb shank was extremely disappointing, it didn't have any sauce & was pretty overcooked (I ordered medium rare, but it was tough & bland). The moules & frites were oversalted & the cream sauce tasted like hot cream & nothing else. The accompaniment of vegetables & basic potatoes was nothing to note either. Neither the creme brulee (eggy & grainy) nor the mousse pyramid (one note) were great either. I wouldn't recommend this place for the price, feels like a bit of a tourist trap.

We had a wonderful lunch at Modavie, even during a busy service. The food was outstanding - the bone marrow & scallops made for the perfect start, & the lamb chops were absolutely spectacular. What truly elevated the experience was the service. William, our server, was attentive & friendly, while manager Lorenzo checked in personally to ensure everything was perfect. Their genuine care & hospitality made the visit unforgettable. Incredible food paired with incredible service - highly recommend!

An absolutely amazing experience! Had them on my list of places to go all week. On my last day, popped in there & it's was exactly what i had been looking for. We ordered off of the dinner menu-- charcuterie & cheese, beer, iced tea, mushroom risotto with a side of lamb & the nicoise salad. Everything was absolutely perfect. The cheese was local, the meats & accrumets were well paired & each was a great stand alone. The lamb were spiced perfectly & the risotto was hot & toasted nicely. The nicoise salad was heaven on a plate. The bread & butter were to die for. The vibe was excellent, with light music & the decor was simple & true to the restaurant. Honestly, this was my favorite restaurant I tried in all of Montreal. What topped it off was the service. We showed up early, without a reservation & were promptly guided to a corner table for two by incredibly friendly & professional maitre'd, Lorenzo. He was just a delight to have around & checked on us many times. Our waiter, William, was so warm & welcoming & extremely attentive to our needs. All in all, prices were shockingly low for the value we felt we got back in experience & food. It is a place I would 100 percent visit again, probably multiple times, on my next trip to Montreal.
