Had an absolutely lovely evening at Modavie! My boyfriend & I came here for our 10 year anniversary dinner on Sunday night after having this place recommended a bunch. Safe to say, it exceeded my expectations!
We had a reservation for the upper floor to listen to the live music (which was fantastic) & our server was extremely welcoming, knowledgeable, & kind. The cocktails were amazing, our starter & mains were delicious (if you're getting pasta, add the braised lamb trust me!) & they even brought us out a complimentary dessert to congratulate us on our anniversary.
Would definetly recommend Modavie to anyone looking for fantastic service & food, & a warm, romantic atmosphere! Had an absolutely lovely time (:

Came here to celebrate a birthday & the server brought out a complimentary dessert. We ordered escargot, the prawn linguine, the rack of lamb & the crème brûlée. Would highly recommend eating here. Live jazz was playing as well. Always a great time at Modavie, this is our 4th time dining here
Very unique brunch experience. The duck waffle was something special, & the croque madame with lamb was insanely tasty - I honestly can't even decide which one I liked more. Beautiful atmosphere, live music, & such a nice attentive staff. Definitely a place worth coming back to!!
Super belle expérience chez Modavie. L'ambiance est vraiment agréable, la nourriture excellente, mais surtout un énorme merci à Lorenzo & Buddy pour leur service incroyable. Très attentionnés, chaleureux & authentiques.
The Duck Confit, Modavie Poutine & Lamb cavatell was our favorite dishes. The service is very attentive & despite how busy the restaurant is, the wait was very reasonable.
Had a great lunch at Modavie in Montreal. The poutine was surprisingly one of the best we had during the trip, definitely worth trying. We also ordered the lamb pasta & the duck confit - both were absolutely delicious, especially the duck, which was tender & full of flavor.
The atmosphere was cozy & lively with great music, & the location in Old Montreal is perfect for walking around before or after dinner. The only downside is that parking nearby can be a bit difficult. Overall, highly recommend!

People outside recommended this place to us while we were looking at the menu & it did not disappoint. Lorenzo was so accommodating & personable to our walk-in group, shifting around things to fit us comfortably & checking in on us intermittently. Dimitri was a friendly server who made the best drinks. Food & drinks were fantastic; ambience was beautiful. I feel like this restaurant is a hidden gem. Highly recommend!
Absolutely fantastic food, service & ambience. Highly recommend the lamb, risotto & creme brûlée. Our server, George, was attentive & took time to discuss the menu with us. Overall a fabulous experience, we be back & will recommend to our friends.
We came here 3 years ago as a local recommended Modavie for their french onion soup that I was so hungry for. It was a great exprience then. We found ourselves back in Montreal & there was no quesion where we wanted to go for our nice meal. Everything was superb! The lamb chops were exceptional!! Service was quick but not rushed. Our server, Patrice, was amazing as well & very well, but not overly attentive. Looking forward to coming back again!

Wonderful restaurant with live music & serving classic French cuisine. Great atmosphere on second floor. Was given a fantastic table close to live music performance. Attendant was ok, nothing extraordinary but provided decent polite service. Food was quite good, especially the onion soup which was not salty & seasoned perfectly with savory & sweetness balanced nicely with hint of wine flavourful in the broth. Rack of lamb was cooked to perfection however the rack portion could have been better cut up & presented though, it was a tad lazy to serve up two giant racks with other rack bones partial in together, when compare to others having same dish at other tables. Scallops were cooked right but sauce was too salty for my preference. Salad was amazingly fresh & crisp. Overall good food good vibe good value.
my boyfriend & I went here tonight for his birthday & the food was AMAZING! the rack of lamb & the potatoes it comes with were 10/10. our waitress was so nice & gave amazing recommendations. will definitely be back
Loved the live music & every single thing we ordered was delicious! They had lots of options for gluten allergies, in particular the poutine with lamb was a highlight. I also really appreciated the mayo & ketchup coming with the fries.
We love this place! We did not have a reservation, but I highly encourage it! We went on a weekend day! Since we were two it was easier to get a window seat quite quickly! Or it was pure luck! Otherwise, you need a reservation for larger groups! Place is popular for a reason! Had to try their lamb poutine! The fillet mignon was tasty & well done! Great service & nice atmosphere with live music! Highly recommended!

Restaurant is right in the middle of downtown. Great ambience, great menu, great drinks menu. It is slightly poorly lit so reading menus can be a bit challenging but no real issues.
Aspires to be a jazz/music restaurant with serious cuisine. Mostly a tourist spot that under delivers. Caesar salad was fine. Onion soup lacked broth. Lamb burgers were ok but could use some more flavoring. Scallops were cooked rare , which is ok for many but kitchen declined to do medium on customer request. Musical trio was underwhelming. Would not recommend
This place was recommended to me by a local, & I am from Calgary. Based on the recommendation I had very high expectations, & maybe that is on me for having such high expectations. The service was excellent, the appetizers very tasty, the main dish slightly above average when compared to other places I have tried in Montreal & Calgary. The atmosphere is fantastic, & the location unbeatable. I would like to come back & perhaps try a different main dish. I had my heart (& taste buds) set on the Duck Confite & ended up ordering the Lamp Chops, & even though I like Lamb, this dish was simply not special, as mentioned before about average or maybe slightly above average. I am giving it a 5 star review overall for the other reasons (Location, service, atmosphere, & the experience itself)
