I understand the hype now, & i'm totally hyped over this place 😍 The spot is super cute, has the best golden hours. Also the best 5a7 1$ Oysters 🦪 The food is just incredible ; the meat cooked to perfection, creamy & hearty soup, fries are perfectly fried crunchy on the outside & soft on the inside, the butter is home made, the sauce is homemade too & super flavorful, desserts & drinks are on point 👌 I'll come back for the rest of the menu hihihi i want to try tartare & the mac & cheese 😁 !View more
Their price fixe is good & better value than most steak places & comes with unlimited fries & their mignon special sauce (mushroom base) is excellent. MB rating 7/10.View more
Got the buck a shuck oysters (actually 1.99) & the jalapeno sauce it came with was awesome. The steak tartare was very good & came with a super generous portion of fries. Came in on a Monday night at around 6 so it wasn't that busy. Sat at the bar & bartender was really good. Very friendly & provided some good suggestions.View more
Excellent ribeye with surprisingly great fries, just the right crisp & crunch outside, moist & fluffy inside.View more
My steak was nearly cold, covered in sauce...next to a mountain of fries which you can have à volonté. Sadly, I was not quite pleased with my experience. I was looking forward to trying it out & had heard such good things about this place. Oh well, I tried it.View more
Food was just so underwhelming. The steaks had the consistency of liver (as if they were first boiled in water or soaking too long), the oysters were not fresh, & the salad was meh. The fries were amazing, though. Overall, Mignon is was not worth it at these prices.View more
Amazing spot, their fries r delicious ! 1$ between 5 & 7 , their after 7 oysters are great. Friendly staff. Delicious cocktails with high end finesseView more
We were looking forward to trying this place but were a tiny bit hesitant based on some of the previous reviews. I'm happy to say that the service was great. We felt like the staff was attentive & pleasant. The music was not too loud & the food arrived very quickly. We enjoyed the fries & the bread but unfortunately, I have to agree with other reviewers who said that the Mignon sauce had a powdery texture. It did taste good but the texture could be improved. The other thing was that my steak was burnt on the outside, initially I thought it was charred since it was smothered in sauce so I couldn't tell until I had a few pieces that it was indeed burnt. It was very bitter tasting. For the price, I did expect more in terms of quality & quantity. The steak itself was tiny. If I had to guess, it wasView more
Everything was perfect. The steak was well done, the fries were excellent! Crispy, hot, salty, what more could you ask for? UNLIMITED FRIES! That's what! Oh & give the dill pickle martini cocktail, it was just what I needed after a long day. I didn't have any oysters but, the oyster special was very popular with the finance bros at the next table.View more
Solid 8/10! Service: The service was great. Our waitress was really nice & made sure we were content. Free shots were given to everyone which was cool of them. Our waitress also took on of our drink requests even though it wasn't on the drink menu. Atmosphere: I really like the ambience of this restaurant. We sat on the terrasse for a bit which was really comfortable. Unfortunately it started to pour, so, we moved to the bar inside. The bar isn't as comfortable of course but the atmosphere was. Food: We had the Mac & cheese for our appetizer. Although we both thought it was missing just a tad bit of salt, it was very good. It's the only Mac & Cheese I've enjoyed in a restaurant. I had the PEI Canadian AAA beef. The flavour of the meat was there, delicious. Fries were addictive. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the signature sauce. It is quite dry on the tongue, which isn't very pleasant.. My partner had the beef tartare for his main dish. It was decent but not the best he has had. I'd dine here again.View more
Great atmosphere & service was prompt. Cocktails were also very tasty but the price was not on par with the food. I had the table d'hote... The soup was delicious... Fries were good but the steak was chewy & the sauce had a starchy taste to it. Don't think I would return unfortunately... For the price just not worth itView more
We had a reservation for 9:30 & were told that the kitchen closes at 10. We ordered a bit in a rush as we were waiting for 1 person to arrive. Understandable, but okay. The food was great. I ordered the table d'hôte filet mignon but they served me the sirloin instead, which is fine but that's not what I ordered. The steak was cooked to perfection, it was so good! The fries were sooo good too. I later learned it was unlimited fries but no one told us that. The mac & cheese was not seasoned, like at all. It was missing a lot of salt. Great choice of wine & cocktails. I had the negroni supreme & it was delicious. We also ordered a bottle of red wine. We asked for more bread & were told there's no more bread which was a bit odd but okay. The ambiane is awesome - great music! They were playing all my jams. My bill came to about $100 (including 20% tip) which makes sense for what I had. I am just a bit dissapointed because I truly felt rushed to order & finish. I wish they closed later. We would have ordered more if it wasn't for that. Especially on a Friday night. I never go out & I hated feeling rushed. It's the only thing. I don't think I would go back on my own. We're gonna go to l'Express next time.View more
I had salmon & my fiancé steak & french fries It was so delicious I really like it & I highly recommend !View more
Nice place for a date. Service was quite slow but drinks & entrees were pretty good! I have to say, the sauce on the steak could be better.. they made us wait so long for our main meal that they were cold. Next time I wouldn't ask for the famous steak & fries & would go for the beef tartare or the burgeView more
It was our first time at Mignon, & we'll definitely return. Great little place, with a simple yet delicious menu. We both had the steak & fries & it was excellent! The meat perfectly done with a good sauce, melts in your mouth. & 1$ oysters to start! If you're looking for a warm atmosphere to enjoy excellent steak without overpriced trend, this is it.

The bartender was lovely & made one of the strongest old-fashions I've ever had. The burger, fries, & salad were delicious especially the burger. I felt like I could eat two! We come here a lot, & it never disappoints.
Wonderful! Staff is very nice & very attentive! The fries are the best & the meat is very tender & delicious.
Classy & cozy small restaurant. The summer terrace's great & the food'a always tasty & high quality. Their fries, miam!View more
The food was excellent with the exception of the fries that were cold & not of high quality.
Last time 4 of us had very tender skirt steak I believe. Last night(2of us) the steak was not skirt steak & very tough. I had to cut the meat into tiny pieces.
The soup leek was delicious as were the fries , salad, cauliflower. Great service.
Thank you. Dave
Super cute date spot or girls night with a really good vibe/style! The service is really good & friendly & the food in INSANE. The beef tartare mets in your mouth, the steak with the sauce & the fries is literally unbeatable & the cheesecake was truly one of my fave cheesecakes ever! Thanks it was amazing :)View more
The pétoncles were not available but replaced with tuna..not great...& the salmon tartare was like just unfrozen...meet is okay but the only good thing was the fries...it isn't because your next to Joe Beef that you are good.. quite disappointing for 250 for two I recommend going elsewhere
Apetizer (tuna tataki) was amazing!
Cocktails where really good.
The steaks (mignon & regular beef) were ok I guess, Ordered rare & it was rare, but for the same price, I can get to discover something elsewhere. The sauce is not something I would trademark, it's got nothing special. & the fries are fries, a would expect to have a choice of seasonal veggie instead.
I liked the steak & really enjoyed the soup. The salad was very bland, lacked flavour, the fries were too much "McDonad's fries", not good enough for a $50 meal, they should be more Parisian style, a bit more crunchy, instead they were rather soggy & lacked a lot of salt. The steak itself was really good but there was too little sauce. The dessert was really underwhelming, could barely taste the chocolate & the inside of the choux à la crème was, although creamy, not flavourful enough, we couldn't taste the vanilla or anything else for that matte
Great service, very friendly, not too long, great drinks / wine. Fries are sooo good. Salad soup & dessert as well.
Appetizers ok but missing taste, except the sauces were really good.
Vegan steak did not like, tastes like vegan meat loaf from the groceries.
It's an ‘okay' spot. Probably won't go back there as often as I had hoped to at first glance.
The room looks cozy & super inviting. They've definitely done a great job redesigning it.
The service is excellent. The staff is pleasant, helpful & very courteous.
The drinks are disappointing, especially the cocktails. They're working with a ‘twist' on classics, resulting in major flops (I definitely would not recommend the dirty martini twist). What's even more concerning is that the resto doesn't have a dedicated bartender: the person making the cocktail is rushing them in between waiting tables & loading dishwashers. That's the sign of a poor cocktail right there.
The steak is definitely not ‘mignon'. It was okay, a solid 6/10. Hiding under a lake of peppercorn sauce, one struggles to get an honest taste. But that's what they're going for. Also, there's way too much fries on the plate, making you wonder if they're overcompensating for something.
Dessert was also underwhelming.
I also found the oysters gravely mispriced ($4 a pop is aggressive to claim without backing it up with quality).
Bref, an entrée, main plate & two glasses of wine should not cost as much as it did considering the quality.
So yeah - a very ‘okay' place I'm afraid.
I had the steak meal. The fries where McDonalds fries that were fried in beef fat, good but nothing too special. The cut of the meat was good, but the sauce has the tendency to be a bit chalky, & extermly fatty which then coats your mouth in fat, this was not really pleasant. The appetizer was good, nothing special.
I would have loved to give this restaurant 5 stars. Both of the 1st courses (the polenta & the charred cabbage) were amazing, as were both of the 2nd courses (the salad & the cream of broccoli soup). Equally terrific was the French bread, the fries, the wine, both desserts (the profiterole & the coffee creme brulee), & the coffee, plus service was knowledgeable & friendly. In fact, everything was 5- star & amongst the best I have ever experience., expect most unfortunately for the steak itself. I don't know whether it was the cut of meat or the manner in which it was cooked, but it was not nearly as flavourful or as tender as the steak I was served when I came to the restaurant earlier this year. Not only did I think that the steak was bad, but so did my 2 other dining companions. Perhaps it had something to do with this restaurant's participation in the Montreal a Table promotion this particular week? Given my previous experience & how wonderful everything else was, however, I will be returning to give the restaurant another chance. One last word of advice, the restaurant is fairly noisy, so you most definitely have to elevate your voice well beyond a normal conversational tone
The quality of the meat is not up to par. It was quite tough (medium rare). Evrything else was good: salad, soup, fries, sauce.
Didn't appreciate being told on arrival that we had to vacate the table in 1.5 hours when it clearly says 2 hours when reserving. Had to insist what had been confirmed with the waitress a few times too many times while she insisted that it was 1.5 hours; she even said that she confirmed that in her phone call yet she she had never called to confirm our reservation. Will think twice before going back.
