Possibly one of our favourite spots in Montreal. The food is amazing & the restaurant itself is beautiful with lots of natural sunlight. Our favourites were the prime rib, spicy rigatoni, & the beet salad-though everything else we had was quite good.
On top of this, the service was great. Our server was super personable & absolutely nailed the wine recommendations he gave us. For sure a staple when we visit the city.View more
Loved the buzz of this place! An enormous old warehouse has been stylishly renovated into a fun restaurant. Best ribs & doughnuts. Great staff.View more
This is probably my 10th visit to McKiernan, & it's about time I updated my review. This spot never misses. The schnitzel with eggs & rich bomba sauce was killer. The 16oz prime rib? Flawless. The fusilli with beef ragu & white wine sauce was pure comfort food, elevated. We also had the burrata with peaches & beets, creamy, sweet, earthy, absolutely on point. Shoutout to our waiter Dimitri: hilarious, sharp, & professional. It still amazes me how this second floor gem in the middle of nowhere keeps filling up. McKiernan just delivers, every single time.View more
Ordered a'prime rib' steak sandwich & received a low quality roast beef slice sandwich, when I asked the server to confirm he shrugged his shoulders & said'same thing'. Came during brunch & the entire place was full of loud children, screaming babies on either side of our table, whose parents decided to change their clothes right next to us. So keep in mind who to expect to eat around. Ordered desserts on the way out & received the wrong order. Only saving grace were the French fries.View more
Wow! Amazing discovery! Our business just moved in to the building next door, & my fiance & I went to eat dinner to try it out. First of all the service is amazing, like the fansy, very expensive restaurants. + Everyone was genuinely nice. The food is great, they don't have a large menu which is supposed to mean everything that's there, they make really well. The bread is *chef's kiss* We went on a Friday night, no reservations & they still managed to seat us quickly. We had the burrata, the bread, the fries, the pasta & the ribs. & everything was very very tasty! We'll definitely go back!View more
We visited McKiernan based on the recommendation of a friend. How had we missed coming here? Parking presented the first challenge but there must be a trick to it. The building hosts a range of businesses & everyone arrives by car so it's chaotic. The entrance to McKiernan is on the St. Patrick side & is clearly signed. Once inside there is a gloomy staircase to climb until at last the bright open space is reached & you have arrived at McKiernan. We hadn't booked but we were found a table. Service is friendly & efficient. We chose from the menu ordering the seafood dish & the prime rib sandwich with fries. The food was excellent although we found the portions to be on the small side. Anyway, to compensate we had a donuut & lemon meringue for dessert. Overall we really enjoyed it & we will back but we will book & be prepared for the parking, & probably order more dishes.View more
Went on Friday night at 10 ish. Service & food was amazing. We had a variety of dishes to share & everything was delish. Do not skip out on the Brussels sprouts & ribs! Our server Nic recommended an amazing orange wine & we finished dinner off with some donuts. 10/10 experience from start to finish, will definitely be back!View more
Went there for a company dinner & omg, what a feast it was! I generally hate Brussels sprouts but here tried them & they were amazing! Not that bitter, pretty crunchy & somewhat salty from the blue cheese. The burrata was fresh & refreshing, the tartare decent (interestingly served with chicory leaves), the ribs really nice & pretty sweet, & the brownie was awesome! Not that sweet, really chocolatey. The cocktails were pretty tiny but really nice. Huge choice of wines. The service was amazing - very friendly, accommodating & respectful. Totally recommend this place - for a group outing, a romantic dinner or for friends' meeting.View more
Delicious menu except for their ribs, it's dry & nothing special. Also, the portions are small. As for their brunch, the quiche is excellent while pancakes & hash brown double down could've been executed better. They are very sweet due to an overload amount of maple syrup. On the contrary, their donuts are not, very good..just right amount of flavor, texture, & fillings.View more
Great food, atmosphere & service. The chicken, brussel sprouts & ribs were delicious!!View more
I parked, confused if I have to pay or not I ask the guy working there. He gives me a ticket & told me I have to stamp it at the restaurant. It was my first time here , so I asked him if the restaurant was good , & he said he didn't know, that it was too expensive & he couldn't afford it. I laughed & I went in. At the entrance it's a picture whit a decent joke about some penguins. I went upstairs & I found this big , almost enormous salon. I ask to be seated at the bar, the place was empty & I don't like to seat alone. Over there the pastry chef was making lemon meringue pies. I ordered the Brussels sprouts white blue cheese, & the ribs with honey. The first one was way too salty , & surprisingly spicy, I only enjoyed the first 5 sprouts & I couldn't eat more. The ribs were tender, sweet , a bit too simple for me, & at a little cold. The service was great, everyone was friendly & professional. For dessert I ordered a beigne whit peaches & cream but I didn't ate it, I give it to the guy at the parking lot.View more
The prime rib was incredible as well as the salad & chicken croquette. Enough for 2 adults & one child. Finished off with home made donuts. Staff were great. Perfect night!View more
This is. The best place in town. Great ribs. Nice wine. Incredible atmosphereView more
Came here for dinner & had a fantastic meal! We got the Moscow mule & Bloody Caesar for drinks. Started the meal with a tomato salad from their daily specials & the zesty Italian beef tartare. The tomato salad had pine nuts, basil & a delightful dressing. The beef tartare was served with endive & so delicious! We got the honey garlic spare ribs, rotisserie chicken Alexandre & fries to share. The spare ribs were so tasty - sweet & sticky. The rotisserie chicken was so good!! The sauce was so savoury - would highly recommend the rotisserie chicken & the beef tartare! The fries were shoe string cut, nicely seasoned & came with a Dijonaise. The staff were all extremely attentive & service was amazing! The restaurant space is so open & spacious. It has a great vibe. The string lights were a nice touch. They have plants everywhere - I loved it all! They also have a foosball table near the bathrooms & people were actually playing. Would highly recommend!View more
Service was very slow. They had a bunch of people working but it seemed like there were only 2-3 people working & it wasn't even busy (around 4-5 pm on a thursday). The only thing that came out fast was the food, which is maybe why the quality was subpar. I had the burrata & Parker house rolls with herb butter. Burrata was fine, the bread was basically just 4 brioche buns that seemed like it was store bought with butter poured on top. My mom had the prime rib, the sauce was too sweet & it was so tough & hard to eat. We accidentally spilled some water on the table, not one waiter noticed, & when we called, he wiped it & left the wet napkins on the table. Then after we ate we asked someone for the bill, I was waiting for about 10 mins. She said she was going to get the bill but she didn't. I had to ask our original waiter for a the bill & it took him 10 mins to get the receipt & another 10 mins to get the machine. & there was less than 5 tables in the whole restaurant!!!! Basically, its an overpriced & overrated place. Not worth going. I regret coming to this restaurant.View more
We had a Sunday dinner reservation for 8 people amd it was a first at McKiernan's for most of our guests & certainly won't be the last! Top notch, friendly service as always & imcredible food! We took the Family Supper group menu, which offers variety & excellent value. Everyone was beyond impressed. Salad, brussel sprouts, beef tartare, burrata, chicken, ribs, pasta...all cooked to perfection👌 McKiernan's never disssapoints. Until next time!View more
As much as I was looking forward to trying McKiernan, I'm sad to say that I found it not worth all the hype & overpriced. The food was diner level, I wouldn't come back for it. The brussel sprouts ($18!!) were very salty & tasted a bit burned. The schnitzel which is one filet with no sides for $20!! was OK, the back ribs (full rack for $40) were good but came cold. Bomboloni, meh. Service was not the best. The best thing about the place is the dining hall. Really nice interior. So, I wish I could say it lived up to the expectations but it didn't.View more
You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. It's all great. If you can, go for the prime rib. Was so good I got a second order to take home. Oh & the schnitzel is another fantastic option.View more
Amazing restaurant. Food was spectacular & service was impeccable. We were a huge group of 30s & the food quality was top notch. The only dish that wasn't on par with the rest was the ribs & the waiter exchange it to schnitzel which was delicious. Service was great, our waiter provided an excellent service with a great smile throughout the whole evening. It was a blast, definitely recommend it to everyone to try this place. There is free parking also.View more
We had a group reservation for like 20 ppl. The ambiance is really cool! The space is quite big & has terrasse vibes for drinks & dinner. Appetizers were really yummy. The main dishes we got, I'll recommend ribs, because the chicken this time was a bit dry. I definitely recommend this place. We spent such a great time.View more
