Lors de mon séjour à Montréal, j'ai eu le plaisir de dîner à la Taverne Grecque Máti, sur la rue Saint-Paul, & ce fut une très belle expérience de mon voyage. Je suis arrivé sans réservation après un après-midi passé à visiter des galeries. Le restaurant était bien rempli, mais l'hôtesse m'a poliment accueilli avec une gentillesse remarquable. Elle a vraiment pris le temps de me trouver une table, ce qui m'a immédiatement mis à l'aise. Le service a ensuite été irréprochable. Ma serveuse était professionnelle, attentionnée & chaleureuse, sans jamais en faire trop. Le serveur qui l'assistait était tout aussi aimable. Côté cuisine, un vrai délice ! Ma salade grecque, préparée sans feta selon mon régime végétalien, était fraîche & généreuse. En accompagnement, j'ai également dégusté un poivron farci au riz & aux herbes (Gemista), savoureux & magnifiquement présenté. Le vin qui m'a été conseillé accompagnait parfaitement le repas. J'ai pris mon temps, profitant de chaque bouchée dans une ambiance détendue & agréable. Un détail marquant : le gérant est passé personnellement pour s'assurer que tout allait bien, une attention qui, franchement, fait toute la différence. On sent qu'ici, chaque client compte vraiment. Malheureusement, j'ai oublié de photographier mes plats ce soir-là, mais j'espère que ma description leur rend justice ! Je recommande la Taverne Grecque Máti sans aucune hésitation & j'y retournerai avec grand plaisir lors de ma prochaine visite à Montréal.
The Taverne Grecque Máti is in the top 3 restaurants I've ever been to. We were there tonight for dinner & everything was perfect.
We started with the watermelon salad with Feta, pistachio, honey. It was refreshing & the perfect start to the dinner on a warm day.
Then we had the Lemon Roasted Potatoes, the Brocolini, Fried Calamari with Tzatziki, lemon, the Grilled Octopus with Caper, red onion, lemon. For dessert we had the Greek Custard Tart & the Baklava.
The service was excellent. The octopus was my favourite as it was grilled but perfectly cooked & still tender. We also really enjoyed the perfectly cooked calamary. The watermelon salad was also a highlight. The food was beautifully presented as well.
Our 5 dishes & 2 desserts came to about $175 + tip. I highly recommend this restaurant. You won't be disappointed.
We had a wonderful evening dining at Taverne Grecque Mati. The service & hospitality was exceptional & the food was phenomenal. From the main course to the sides & appetizers, all of it was great. This was our favorite dining experience while visiting Montreal.
C'était bon, mais rien d'exceptionnel. Les portions étaient dans la moyenne basse & les plats assez classiques. Je ne comprends pas vraiment tous les avis 5 étoiles. Pour des européens habitués à la nourriture grecque, on peut dire que l'expérience reste ordinaire. Un peu cher pour ce que c'est. Nous avons attendu 20 minutes pour pouvoir payer. Merci quand même & bonne continuation.

The food was exceptional. Every dish was fresh, beautifully prepared, & bursting with authentic Greek flavour. You can truly taste the quality of the ingredients & the care that goes into the menu. From the appetizers to the mains, everything was memorable & perfectly seasoned.
