The food is absolutely delicious & authentic Bangladeshi - you can tell a lot of care goes into making it. The owner Moon is a gem, she even provided us free shemai for Eid. The prices are extremely reasonable. Will definitely return!
Vous devez attendre un peu pour votre commande mais ça en vaut la peine car les plats sont absolument savoureux & la quantité est généreuse. Je recommande fortement.
Trying their food took me back to when I went to visit Dhaka, Bangladesh for a couple of months. Excellent service & very welcoming! Portions are generous! We had their Beef Tehari, Chicken Curry, with the side dish Allo Bhorta, Begun Bhorta, & Sutki Bhorta. All very tasty & delicious, spicy, & authentic!
Food:
Summary: Tastes like good home cooked meal, nothing close to bangladeshi restaurants or baburchis. Thats not an issue. Main issue it doesnt taste fresh, most items taste like it has been frozen for a long time & reheated when serving. Tried this place twice, & the food tasted stale both times. Price is reasonable based on local market.
Tehari: (4/5) tastes close to authentic tehari in Bangladesh. But the meat pieces were tough & felt like it was prepared long ago & re-heated. Not like it wasnt cooked properly, it was as if the meat became stale & tough by the process of freezing & reheating. But rating 4 out 5 still since taste was close to home.
Kachhi: (1/5) The meat was definitely old, stale, & reheated. The meat was tough & looked stale as well. It it did not taste a day or two old stale, it tasted like it was at least a week old. Rating 1 only because the rice had some hint of fragrance of authentic kachhi, but it is still far off. Plan to get a roast or something to have with it because the biriyani meat is almost inedible.
Roast Polao: 5/5. Tastes like home but the polao is extremely greasy.
Service: Service is very slow. Except for the owner, nobody else knows how to greet customers. But thats fine for a small authentic restaurant such as this.
Amosphere: Mostly a takeaway. Didnt feel like a place where I would plan to sit & enjoy.
The food is absolutely delicious & tastes just like authentic Bangladeshi food. Whenever I have it, it always brings back memories of Bangladesh. The biryani here is the best Bangladeshi biryani I've had in Montreal.
