Review Summary

Marche Moon Star is widely celebrated for its authentic and flavorful Bangladeshi cuisine, offering dishes that many patrons describe as reminiscent of home-cooked meals. Guests frequently praise the roast polao, beef tehari, and various bhortas, noting the generous portion sizes and reasonable prices that provide excellent value. While the atmosphere is often described as casual and modest, the exceptional hospitality provided by the owner and staff consistently elevates the dining experience. Although a few reviewers have noted occasional inconsistencies in food freshness or long wait times, the vast majority of visitors highly recommend this establishment for its warm environment, genuine flavors, and accommodating service, making it a standout destination for those seeking traditional Bengali dishes in Montreal.

Though rice is the foundation of Bangladeshi cuisine (plain rice, pulao rice, kicchuri, biryani, tehari, kacchi, even rice roti), it's good to see this restaurant upgraded from its initial offering of cooked frozen parathas (a few years back) to one of the best freshly baked layered naans in MTL. Some Bangla restaurant do not offer naans at all, just rice. So hats off to Marché Moonstar for its willingness to adapt & evolve to provide this option to other customers. The Bhuna curries are authentic & consistently well done.

Inconsistency is dominant in this place & the atmosphere is a mess. This place needs improvement. I would not reccomend dining in this place. I don't see a scope of improvement

I ordered ilish fish, beef curry, bhuna khichuri, aloo bhorta, & small singaras. Everything was delicious. The apu was also very friendly & welcoming. If you want to experience authentic Bangladeshi taste & flavor, you must try this place!

My wife, who is not a Bangladeshi but a huge fan of the cuisine, brought me here. We had the most lovely lunch date, & the Apu (big sister in Bangla) who took our order & served our food, made our experience even more amazing & wholesome.

If you want authentic Bangladheshi cuisine, THIS is the place. The flavor & content took me back to my Mom & Grandmothers' homes in Bangladesh.

The Kachchi Biryani with Borhani (yogurt drink) is PURE BLISS!! If you're worried about how spicey the food is, just ask them, & they'll recommend something that you can enjoy.

The bhortas are divine! Even just the white rice & lentil soup (bhat ar daal) was homely! 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
