My wife, who is not a Bangladeshi but a huge fan of the cuisine, brought me here. We had the most lovely lunch date, & the Apu (big sister in Bangla) who took our order & served our food, made our experience even more amazing & wholesome.
If you want authentic Bangladheshi cuisine, THIS is the place. The flavor & content took me back to my Mom & Grandmothers' homes in Bangladesh.
The Kachchi Biryani with Borhani (yogurt drink) is PURE BLISS!! If you're worried about how spicey the food is, just ask them, & they'll recommend something that you can enjoy.
The bhortas are divine! Even just the white rice & lentil soup (bhat ar daal) was homely! 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
Worst staff needs change for a fact that it takes more than usual to get the food & when you order on Uber the old folks working there don't know how to operate & sometimes they don't even give the food to the delivery drivers! My delivery guy came to my doors empty handed cz the restaurant refused to give him the food I paid for just cz he couldn't figure out if the driver excepted the order or not! Chang of staff & operations is needed or the business will turn into a nightmare for this restaurant. But the food ain't that bad for the $buck!
This is such a special restaurant! There is an amazing variety of Bengali food. It is healthy, tasty & made with love. It's easy to find vegetarian/vegan options. Moon is such a talented chef & so kind.
The food was AMAZING & the service & prices were great!! We shared a bunch of stuff, & the roast polao was my favorite! We also got free rice pudding! Overall I highly recommend!!

This is as authentic as it gets for Bengali food. It's the best bang for the buck. It reminds you of Bangladesh, where the chairs & ambiance isn't so great but the food makes up for everything. The roast pulao reminds you exactly of what a traditional Bengali wedding. It's rich & creamy & filling with the fragrant pulao rice. Will be definitely coming back for more & recommend this spot.
Didn't expect the food to be this good given the atmosphere but it completely exceeded expectations. Easily a 5/5. I'll definitely be coming back again.
I went to Moon Star restaurant on my short visit to Montreal from Toronto. I must say their food blew me away. Every dish we ordered had an authentic Bangladeshi taste: no fusion, no mixes no shortcuts. Moon Apu is incredible, her hospitality was beyond amazing. To top it all, she gave me a box of piyaju on the house for my way home to Toronto. If you are in Montreal & wanting to try authentic Bangladeshi cuisine….dont think twice just try this gem out!
