Food is good however when we spoke to management regarding something, they were EXTREMELY rude. They acted like they really didn't care if they kept us as customers or not. Very, very disappointing.
quantité débordante de nourriture, très savoureux et typique souvlaki grecs. excellent pour amener la famille!
C'est la place pour les slouvakis.
Rien de compliqué.
Rien à redire.
We are regular customers and we love this place. It's not expensive and the service is pretty quick. The food is always good.
As some other reviewers have pointed out, if you're looking for romantic or fancy this is not the place. The food is generally tasty, the Marathon dressing is delicious, the portions are perfect and the prices are very reasonable.
The only complaint would be the service that has for some reason deteriorated over the past few months. Servers seem to not care.
Jun 5 2009 Update:
Had dinner last Thursday night, the service is even worse. Although the food is still tasty, the way its thrown on your table certainly takes away from the evening. Not a single glass of wine was poured for our table (not even the first), requested napkins never came and our water glasses were never filled. The waiter never bothered to ask how we were doing... however, I'm sure he figured it out after receiving his $2 tip.
Jun 2012 Update:
Second time we arrive for dinner at 7:00pm on a Friday evening only to be told they have no meat left......?
Now THIS was a nice place to eat. You cant really go wrong with Greek food. It has a limited menu, but what they offer is absolutely satisfying! And the prices are very affordable! On the down side, the service is more below average than most restaurants. Overall, great food, great atmosphere. 9/10
We've been eating there for over 10 years now! Great food, great service. This place is so busy that food has no choice but to be fresh and tasty. Always affordable.
Good Greek food and it's always busy. It has a solid reputation.
Marathons is a great family restaurant. The food and portion sizes are satisfying. The staff is pleasant. The food is great. Its a quick bite, as well as a nice sit down. I recommended any of the franchises. Try the Chicken or pork Souvlaki !
The service is amazing you get served REALLY fast, the food is just so goooood !!!
Pas fait pour une sortie en amoureux, ici on y vient en famille ou entre amis. Les portions sont très généreuses, bon prix mais un peu gras. C'est quand même mieux que Arahova !
J'y retournerais sans problème.
Good food and service, very cheap, but it remains one of my favorites ! Dont expect this outing to be romantic or fancy, because it wont !
I absolutely love their lunch menu.
Great tasting greek dishes. Affordable prices
Yes, it's in a mall.
Yes, it's horribly commercialized food.
Yes, it's borderline fast food (only with real utensils).
Yes, it's one of my favourite guilty pleasures on the island. I even prefer it to Arahova, because you can actually taste the food as opposed to simply tasting the garlic (this, from the girl who has never met a garlic bulb she didn't love).
Service is always friendly and efficient, salad is always fresh and properly crispy, and the taste is just mmm...mmm... comfort!
This is the hardest review I've written here. At the end of the day, Marathon is a solid, decent place to eat Greek food. But nothing more than that. The gyro pita I had was tasty, but lacking meat. Meat was a little overcooked. Similar offereings from Arahova have more meat. French Fries are just frozen coin-sized chips made by McCain. Because of this, I always order the rice, which is quite good. Marathon salad dressing is superb. Tzatziki is very good, but not as good as Arahova. Marathon's isn't as thick or garlicky.
Portions are generous and pricing is extremely reasonable. Service on my visits has been adequate or better, deserving of a 15% tip.
