Marathon Souvlaki in Dollard-des-Ormeaux specializes in fresh, tender meat souvlakis. Marathon Souvlaki has also won an award for the best souvlaki by the Gazette. There are a choice between pork, lamb, chicken or even vegetarian souvlaki. Other dishes are also available at Marathon Souvlaki.
Overall, Marathon Souvlaki is described as a reliable casual Greek spot with generous portions, good value, and consistently tasty dishes like calamari, chicken souvlaki, pork gyro, and the signature Marathon salad, with frequent praise for fast service and friendly staff. The dining options work well for both takeout and sit-down meals, and many reviews highlight the lively, busy atmosphere that makes it a popular go-to, especially in the West Island locations. While the food is largely celebrated, there are occasional critiques about busy or noisy hours, occasional slower or uneven service, and rare notes about changes in portion size or other quirks such as charges for sauces or being asked to wrap up after paying. Still, these are outweighed by repeated recommendations and the sense that Marathon Souvlaki offers dependable, flavorful Greek fare at generous portions and reasonable prices, making it a staple for regulars and newcomers alike.
Lunch special was basically regular price lol, but we got the gyro plate & pita. Very good 😊 checkout us out at @mtlfoodbros on IG/tik Tok for our review video :)

Do NOT come here for parties or if you want a relaxed, enjoyable evening with family & friends.
Very rushed dining experience.
After we payed we were told to leave promptly.
We had my wife's 40th birthday party here because she loves greek food. The food is good & our server Angelo was very nice, I would give him 5 stars. Now why the low rating?
After dinner we had the birthday cake & shortly after we all paid our bill, the server came up to us & said that his superior (I don't know if it was the manager or owner) had told him to tell us that we had to leave because they had another group coming in. First & foremost, the manager should have came directly to me to say this personally, not have his server take this upon his shoulders, this is a severe lacks of professionalism & respects for his employee & guests. My server felt extremely embarassed & ashamed for being told to ask us to leave, especially after sharing a slice of birthday cake with us. He was amazed by the cake so I offered him a slice which he ate speedily because he is working & does not want to disrespect his other guests but it was nice for him to join us even if it was brief. This restaurant is very busy because the food is good & the price is fair for the portions you get BUT if you can't handle a reservation for a medium sized group like this then don't take the reservation. I don't want to say it ruined my wife's 40th birthday party but it ended on a bad note. This restaurant should have been honest enough to say on the phone they don't want us staying long because this is the sort of place that wants you to eat & then get out. Had I known this, I would have made reservations elsewhere.
I am a long time customer of Marathons because they have a few locations. Highly doubtful I would ever step foot into this particular location again & I definitely don't recommend doing & event here.
The food is good but this experience has left a sour taste in my mouth.
Still an excellent place for souvlaki! Marathon salad is nice & fresh, souvlaki is a good size (even if perhaps not as plump as in the past), tsatsiki is creamy & tangy. The decor is modern & clean while the layout feels spacious, so quite the luxury compared to some places where you feel like a sardine. We were served by Louis who did an excellent job with courtesy & efficiency. I'd love to eat here as often as in the past but despite what Harris & democrats say, inflation is real.

The place to go for Gyro in the West Island. I live off the island & make it a point to go there for the best gyro. Great service, great staff & reasonable prices. The marathon house salad is amazing too!
The food was amazing but it's the service that made the experience terrible. The waiter was rude. Ever since he served us he was very judgmental. He didn't even ask us if we wanted dessert or to see the dessert menu. He left us in the corner & didn't care about us. I love Marathon Souvlaki but this experience stained our decision.

It has been many years since I have been to marathons.... It was as tasty as I remember. They give pita instead of bread now, but it was all delicious.

Haven't been here since before covid, & thankfully the food has not changed. Amazing taste & large serving as always & tastes absolutely amazing. Thanks for keeping it real Marathon.
