Marathon Souvlaki DDO is widely regarded as a staple for delicious Greek cuisine in the West Island, consistently praised for its generous portion sizes, fresh ingredients, and excellent value. Many patrons highlight the chicken souvlaki, lamb chops, and signature salad as standout menu items, noting that the restaurant provides a reliable and welcoming atmosphere for families and friends. While the majority of guests report exceptional service, noting that specific staff members go above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience, some visitors have expressed concerns regarding occasional service inconsistencies, noise levels during busy hours, and recent changes to certain recipes like the salad dressing and bread. Despite some mixed feedback on minor adjustments to the menu and occasional peak-hour congestion, the overall sentiment remains highly positive, with many loyal customers returning for years due to the restaurant's quality, efficiency, and comfort-food appeal.
We celebrated my brother's birthday at Marathon Restaurant & had a fantastic experience. The food was good, we ordered the calamari, chicken brochette, & souvlaki, all of which were fresh & full of flavour. What really stood out, though, was the service. Peter, our server, was exceptional: attentive, friendly, & made sure everything was perfect throughout the evening.
Overall, a great place for a special occasion or a relaxed night out. We'll definitely be back.
Went there a few days ago & ordered the chicken pita gyro plate & the fried calamari . The chicken in the gyro was super dry & not fresh so they put so much seasoning to make it seem better. Used to love coming here with friends. Maybe it was an off night but i was really disappointed.
First time at Marathon, & it won't be my last! The food was fresh, tasty, & perfectly prepared. The service was great; if I could give 6 stars for service, I would. Thomas was fantastic- attentive, friendly, & made the whole experience even better. The only small downside was that it was a bit loud for me, but the atmosphere just shows how popular it is.
Can't wait to come back!
This is probably one of the most underrated restaurant in the West Island. The food is great & portions are generous.
When we order takeout, again portions a good & just looking at the food makes me drool. You can tell it was prepared & cooked by people who care.
I'm looking at my Greek salad right now … big red tomatoes, nice chunk of cucumber with feta cheese & red onions. So fresh & made with quality ingredients.
Still an excellent place for souvlaki! Marathon salad is nice & fresh, souvlaki is a good size (even if perhaps not as plump as in the past), tsatsiki is creamy & tangy. The decor is modern & clean while the layout feels spacious, so quite the luxury compared to some places where you feel like a sardine. We were served by Louis who did an excellent job with courtesy & efficiency. I'd love to eat here as often as in the past but despite what Harris & democrats say, inflation is real.
